it depends on how long you work bro... they pay by the hours. Weekly  if you are hardworking, you'll get 300 after deduction of taxes and accomodation. But think now they have stop giving much work coz the sales now a bit slow....

yeap, got ur no... u're very rite on opening a bank account in UK. they've got strict requirements on that. The Passport current account is proveded by the UK HSBC and itz to cater for holiday makers like us. we're to open the account before we enter UK. Thus, it saves the hassle of having to produce lots of hard-to-get docs when u're there...

well, according to my fren in UK, getting a job is kinda hard in UK at the moment with the east europeans flocking into UK. Be ready to work trial hour (maybe 4-6 hour) without any salary just for the employer to judge whether u're rite for the job. Aniwae, go to some countryside of or small city and u stands a higher chance to get a job. There's plenty of restaurant which is run by Hongkie and we chinese are kinda wanted there. Apologies if there's any non-chinese here. No racism intended.

It's better to get a job through a job agency, imo. I may be wrong tho.
It depends actually. If u got a handsome amount of moolah in ur account and you're not working. It's better to get ur father to write a letter stating that ur trip is sponsored by him and attach his bank statement or whateva proof of funds he got for u. hi toshi, if you wanted to have your father as your sponsor in WHV, you need to provide his bank account statement and *if he's working then you need to provide his monthly income up to 3 months latest and if your father has retired then you don't have to. also i suggest to provide also your birth certificate to prove that he is your father. well at least i did that and the officer doesnt ask me so many questions since it has all been answered in black and white.

toshi, make sure the rm15k doesnt bank in immediately because the officer will ask how do you get this sort of money and where is it come from. and if im in your senario, i will still have my father as my sponsor just in case.

HUH!! finally managed to submit my application today after 2 days of hassle, i have got till 5th Sept to know if my application has been approve. Hopefully they won't call me up for an interview. 

Holy Crap, my friend which had submitted together with me has just got his results back and its a BIG REFUSAL sign there. God, he has shown an acc of more than RM100 000 together with all the letters to further strengthened his claims ended up not even getting it.

I don't understand, they should at least conduct an interview with him b4 rejecting him, Damn, i am about to take my results next Tuesday and my the acc statement which i have shown isn't as much as him.

They just said that, they think my friend spends more time on working in Uk rather than traveling, that is why there is no need to conduct and interview,hence, failed.  But my friend did include in a 1 month travel plan to Europe. Haiz, i am speechless now, i'll be collecting mine on Tuesday.

He did not write anything about working, both of us wrote a lot on the reason we want to apply the WHM. If they were to expect us to travel around UK for 6 months, how on earth are we gonna have that capital. Gosh, 1month euro trip costs almost 10k ringgit, maybe for them its small money.

Yea, Fly Emirates is the cheapest flight around and it has a transit in Dubai, one of my friend is currently working in a travel agency and she quoted me RM 3.5K for both ways and its valid for 6months for the return ticket which is reasonable i guess. Haha, luckily i need not need to worry about accommodation as i have got easily 8 - 10 friends there studying in Newcastle, i'll just hop in. 

I kinda like the visa sticker which they have pasted on my passport, looks cool.

in August every yr, there is a Discovery Channel's hotair balloon fiesta, 70 hot air balloons lift off within 1 hr, then there is the night session, where the balloons will be like giant light bulbs, switched on and off to the tune of the music,

travel by train is expensive, if you want cheaper book earlier i.e. 2-4 weeks before your journey... by the way, travel by air is cheap too. i go to bremen in germany for £20 return ticket
