Yeah, if it's accompanied with hissing, could be UTI. Is it very2 often Cheaka?

I'm not sure which vet to check with la. Know any Hun?

I recall in the SG thread ver 2, the earlier ones I think, someone did bring his/her suggie to vet to correct UTI, but I don't remember who lah...

I also can't remember.... but then maybe it can be checked by Animal Medical Center.... or Taman Megah's Yeoh Clinic.... coz not many vets are capable here.

Cheaka, maybe you can call up a few numbers from the vet thread. Try your luck with the KL vets.... I can only think of AMC and Yeoh....

Ah, good that no more hissing. Just monitor.... once a while Kiah also hisses but not often... she normally hisses when pooing coz her poo all very big hahahah.

About watermelon.... we should not give so much coz watermelon is a bit like junkfood... other fruits are way much better than watermelon. Of course gliders will pee more coz watermelon contains more water than other fruits.... it is better to introduce water than to give more watermelon....

A one-cup serving of watermelon will provide around 48 calories. Watermelon is an excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin A, with one serving containing 14.59 mg of vitamin C and 556.32 IU of vitamin A. Watermelon also provides significant amounts of vitamin B6 and vitamin B1, as well as the minerals potassium and magnesium.

Well..try to monitor again....Apple juice seems to work real well..you guys can try....make sure you get the 100% non-added sugar apple juice..

Anyway, i did some test....for those who are afraid to feed your sugar glider with live crickets...i put in some crickets in the freezer.....they froze like in less than 1 minute....then you can feed it to your sugar glider.....hehehe... rclxms.gif

It is not junkfood to us but junkfood to glider.... coz it won't fill up their tummies with enough fiber but more on water only.... this is why I said we should not give so much. Did I say don't give at all?

Gliders have small stomachs and you want the glider to get as much fiber and carbs into their body coz they burn carbs easily... but the high water content in watermelon will just make them feel full coz of the water. So feed other types of fruits as well.

A glider should have a variety of fruits and vegies in their diet. Sun Melon and Honey Dew are great, as well as pear, apple, dragon fruit, blue berries, water apples, guava, papaya, banana, chestnuts, carrots, strawberries, mango and the list goes on... There has been cases where some people only feed apples and dogfood.... this lead to poor health and glider death.... so a glider cannot have too much of one thing, must have a varied diet.

Fruit juices are excellent treats.... Just Juice, Marigold and brands that have no preservatives and added sugar. Natural fruit juices are great but good as treats. Freezing juice using the ice tray and placing a piece of fruit in it to freeze up makes a fruit Popsicle for gliders.

Haihhh, gliders are gliders.

They are not human.

Things that are good to us can be bad for them, some can even be lethal.

They are after all exotic animal and their diet is very tedious, thus need extra care and attention to this.

Must we pull out the crickets' hind legs first before feeding the crickets to the suggies? I read an article some where that said the hind legs have thorny edges and it should be removed first. Thats pretty gross...

Not necessary.... my Kiah likes the legs.... to her it is like eating chicken drumsticks.... damn cute the way she eats it. Chew chew chew.... but if you feel that it could cause some eating difficulties, you can use a pair of scissors and cut them off.

Hmm, Cheaka, how do you put the cricket in the fridge?

Would be an alternative to keeping them.

In a tupperware or zip loc also can?

if want to save cost and trouble, just use a plastic bag... they will be frozen before they can chew a hole in it

ok thx again for the advice. But while playing if let's say he is sleeping then start moving
in his pouch then later on followed by crabbing sound. does this show signs that they don't like it?
