Wah! Its been a very long time since I last commented on the forum. Spent the last few days reading the comments. Congrat on V3 thumbup.gif Better late than never yeah.

I bring my SGs to work about twice a week now. They are like the office mascots. Everyone comes to look at them and ask loads of questions. some like to disturb and poke them. Argh!!!! I don't like people shaking their cage and poking them. It is so annoying and mean. mad.gif

I like carrying Roscoe when I am at my desk because he will sit still and curl into a big ball. See SG addict.... miss them when they are not here.

CFP where did you get your fleece material to make the swing and hammock? I was thinking of making it for my critters but I really have no idea where to buy material....where did you get yours? How much was it?

On another note, I am now known as the mad girl who talks to her lunch box in the office! Humph my colluegues knows that I bring my critters to work and they were contemplating eating them as a delicacy! shocking.gif

Sigh my babies are no longer safe in the office. How like that?

But I believe that them critters are really foolhardy. Yesterday they tried to claw the cat's eyes out! Put the cat near the cage and they got so excited they wanted to bite its ear! This is a squirrel killing, lizard hunting, cockroach playing, rabbit eating cat! flex.gif

KP: Wah damn power to sing to suggie in office! thumbup.gif I think my colleagues will really call me a looony bin then.... already I am the crazy girl who chops up fruits at her desk and carry the grey fluffy things around.

CFP: Thank you! I will go check up on the shop for the material! They also sell good quality fleece there?

Don't worry guys... I actually took super long to get my SGs used to me. Now I am still not even sure if they are bonded to me. They don't crab at me at all, well not unless something scared them. And I can carry them and don't get bitten, I have scars all over my body because they use me as a climbing post.

The sad part is that I am super allergic to their claws/pee/scent marking/scratches etc. I will develop raised red welts on my skin after they climb on me. There will be so many welts that it looks like I have some really big hybrid rashes. Plus my hands and body will even shake from the itchiness. cry.gif

Oh my new critters! So cute! Always so nice to see new faces.

Cheaka,

Where are you getting the eucalptus tree? Thinking of getting a natural plant for my critters. They look pretty bored in their cage. And I can't let them run on me all the time because I am hardly home and also because I am higly allergic to their scratches/piss. But I love carrying them about with me after I get back from work wub.gif

Resolution: Must play much more with critters.

Oh wow I can't wait to see how that looks. Maybe once you guys have some experience in building a small cage, a much bigger one can be built. I would like my SGs to have lots of playroom. Ganbate! thumbup.gif

Oh yeah them suggies are rascals. I support Hun's explanation in getting them one at a time, but I would suggest keeping them in a pair. They are so sweet together. Sleep together, play together, eat together.

CFP: Crazy ar suggest that I let the SGs roam free around the room when I am not around? They are so naughty! I would not have anything to own when I get to my room. As it is Roscoe wants to taste and eat everything he picks up. Scared he will poison himself one day. Plus I most probably be sick with worry, wondering what they are up to.... so better for them to stay in the cage when I am not there.

Buying food for them is a once a month thing for me to make their mix. Every day will feed fruits available at hand tongue.gif I have not feed them mealworms for nearly a month already. Aiks feel so guilty. But the last time Roscoe was bad and he went to help himsef to all the mealies and in the end it all ended on on the floor and then their tummies hmm.gif

CFP: Your DIY cage is awesome! If I have a bigger space I would not mind buying one from you for my critters thumbup.gif

Speaking of critters. They kept me up all night because they were figthing again. But I think its their mating fight. because they have no wounds from any of the fights so far. Probably Rene refusing Roscoe thats why there is so much racket.

Ahhhh live crickets jumping around the inside the toaster getting toasted. Now thats a bad thought. Must kill them nicely first... I also wanted to feed crickets to my critters but I find it kinda icky. Not because I have to hold them but because I have to feed them and weed their carcasses and withstand their smell.....

Mine makes cute soft snuffling half barking sounds when they sleep. Its so cute!

And the both of them are double trouble. Likes to roam around the room and pushes things over. They especially love sitting in my big sombrero - which I have yet to use seeing how it is a critter hideout when they roam the room.

They are both very smelly too.... but I somehow find the smell comforting - not the smell of the cage (which is horrible) but their critter smell. Hahaha when I smell it I immediately think of soft cuddly grey furred babies. Omg I am incurably addicted to SGs!

Hun,

Tell us how you roast the crickets. Won't they jump about and dirty the inside of the toaster?

Omigod! So sad the glider can feel the rejection and got hurt. Hamster9 your Short Tail is so gorgeous even with putus tail and all must love it for its imperfections.

Wah and Kiah is so sweet too! Makes me want to hunt down my suggies and take pictures of them too. How do you get such clear photos without flash? I am afraid of hurting their eyes...

Oh my there are volunteers here for SG biting test too? Wah so gungho notworthy.gif

Anyways, I think my SGs are mating.... they don't want to get out of their bed and they don't run around much. Roscoe just likes to hold onto Rene and close his eyes. Damn weird.... but then again they should be about a year old already.

PS: Bra bonding works on older SGs like mine? If it does I might consider it, but thinking of the red itchy rashed like welts that appear after they climb on me makes me shake... it is super itchy and my skin is super sensitive.

Thank god we have it good in Malaysia then. I love my SGs to bits, like holding them when they sleep wub.gif

Will anybody be free in the first week of June? I am going on a trip for about 5 days and am looking to a Glider sitter to take care of them. icon_question.gif

KP,

I am going overseas from the 1st to the 5th of June...... Would really appreciate it if someone can help me out blush.gif I am at PJ by the way....

Cheaka,

Wah Eowyn is so smart? Knows how to escape and hide some more.

Rene and Roscoe likes to run around the room when they are let out. They will be really noisy for a while, then 30min later - silence. They will fall asleep and curl up into little grey balls. Super cute can tongue.gif

KP, I didn't get your PM? Actually thinking of asking this guy who baby sits SG to help babysit mine. Thank you! thumbup.gif

Super tired at work now. The critters were very noisy last night, think because they didn't get to come out to play yesterday. Wah feel damn guilty that I may be a bad owner unsure.gif

Must we pull out the crickets' hind legs first before feeding the crickets to the suggies? I read an article some where that said the hind legs have thorny edges and it should be removed first. Thats pretty gross...

Does their pee smell? I finds my critters pee quite smelly! When they pee on me I have to wash it immediately. Plus it only takes them a day to make their cage smelly again, after the cage was painstakingly washed and scrubbed down shocking.gif

Has anyone tried doing tent time with their suggies yet? If yes..... where can I find a free standing tent that isn't too pricey?

Could the discolouration be due to her scent glands? I notice that this is more obvious with Roscoe around the chest and tummy where the scent glands are. But I believe the slight brownish tinge is due to the rascal's scent marking everything!

Can't be.... breeding is instinctive with animals right? Anywho I think my SGs are mating and yet not hahaha. Roscoe keeps trying to get jiggy with Rene but she keeps refusing him. That horny critter is always trying to get on her. They sound like they are fighting when he does that sweat.gif

Don't know who to feel sorry for now.... Roscoe or Rene....

All I know is that she is fat because she eats more than him and runs less. Kinda worried because at one time I saw a white bit of dirt in his eye. I hope its not fat build up. But then when I gently rub my finger over his eye lid the white thing was gone. It looks more like eye dirt to me tongue.gif Plus I haven't been feeding them anything fatty at all. At most about 4 mealworms a day. And some days none at all.

KP,

This crawler/climber thing between SGs is so true! As you will see very soon, Roscoe likes to stay at the bottom part of the cage (crawler) and Rene at the top part of the cage (climber). But they will be every where when the play together and run around rclxms.gif

Super sad about leaving them.... just 2 more days before I go on my trip. I hope they actually do miss me and love me more when I see them in a week. wink.gif
