ok thx again for the advice. But while playing if let's say he is sleeping then start moving
in his pouch then later on followed by crabbing sound. does this show signs that they don't like it?
*
Could be he is waken by surprised and is surprised or scared thus he crabs. Last time when Iggy crabs, I would try and hush him slowly, talk to him and let him know its okay.

kweekit, sounds serious here. Normally if the diet is not right also the fur can start thinning. But best is for you to take it to the vet. If you post the pix also, we are not doctors, we might not know what is wrong. Bring it to a vet asap.

Anything serious, no point you ask for help here for we are not vets or certified people to treat your glider. A vet would know best.

Hmm, Cheaka, how do you put the cricket in the fridge?

Would be an alternative to keeping them.

In a tupperware or zip loc also can?

I actually pull them into those microwave safe container - like hun's container type. Then straight put it in the freezer. I find it the best way to keep them. Not so smelly compare to keeping the alive.

Maybe nightmare....my gollum sometimes like that...sleep in the pouch comfortable...then suddenly will crab a bit......then i will just stroke his fur or hug him at my tummy....

Freezing crickets is 1 method.... but make sure you gutload the crickets first.

Erm, baking, I haven't really tried it myself.... since no crickets yet hahah... but to bake, Reanne said that must put on low heat and bake for.... erm, can't remember how long, 1 to 2 hours I think.... This one really must ask her hahahah.

If you bake it, you can keep it in the fridge or put in a container with a small pack of silicon gel to absorb the moisture. I think can keep a few weeks to a month....

Normal fridge or freezer?

Wahh, bake like 1-2 hours? So long... Mine is the small toaster oven only, it doesn't have high or low setting just minutes. On 5 minutes can hangus a roti wor tongue.gif

Reanne, how? Or your Crispy Toasted Cricket is in production already, haha tongue.gif

Fry with oil a No-No.

But frying it dry I dunno, tho I wouldn't want to use my cooking pan to that, if they stick onto it, habis...

Gutloading takes 24 hours.... once you buy crickets, feed them vegies and dried dogfood or catfood. Then after 24 hours, put in freezer for 20 minutes to make them sleep....

Reanne told me that if the heat too high, the crickets will catch fire hahahah.... That's why i dare not try yet with my toaster oven loh... later catch fire, then it will be the same thing all over again for me, jump around with a cup of water LOL...

Maybe for now you just freeze them in the freezer, and when Iggy wants to eat, just take a few, thaw it a bit then serve heheheh..

Erm, we cannot fry the crickets due to the oil is bad for gliders..... common sense.

This happend to my gollum when i first got him...it was due to stress that his bald part got worse...now with proper diet and also with new mates like frodo and eowyn..his bald part is getting better...

So i believe it is due to either stress or diet....try leaving him and not disturb him for 2-3 days....feed him the necessary 50 (fruits) % and 50 (protein/carb) % of diet...make sure he really makan all of it.....and see how it is...if things don't improve..i guess have to see a vet liao....

krynzpeaches, make sure the tank or container you use have good ventilation, or else it'll be very smelly and your cirx dies easily. Btw, i feed my crix mealies. Heheheheh

It's the small plastic aquarium. Shud have enough ventilation right cuz the cover got holes. My concern is the size. I don't want it to be dying cuz of the stink lah. That's why I'm only using mealworm at the moment, easier to keep.

Cricket can eat mealworm blink.gif

Won't catch fire la. I said scorch, as in turn black as it gets burnt by the heat.

Dry Frying is a no no as we cant really control the heat and will most probably burn the crickets. I'm not sure about deep frying, but then again, we wouldn't want oil into our pets' diets.

Reanne, use a toaster oven can ah?

Mine doesn't have temp control tho, only minutes, how?

I plan to put them in aluminium foil then bake in the toaster oven (a way to prevent dirtying my oven also la wink.gif )
