Haihs. Chill lar guys. This is a forum to inform anyway. No point in creating a scene here.

Btw, Jon, it may be true that some people used baby food for their gliders before Hun's mix came out. But they did not used it as staple food. It was given as a treat or emergency only. Hope you wouldn't misunderstand that. Currently Hun's mix is the best choice for all suggie owners. Even Sumitup recommended me to use her mix last time. smile.gif

The best type of staple food for them would be Hun's mix, fresh fruits + mealworms.
And I don't think those two types of food you've mentioned are being sold here in Malaysia. So far I've never seen anyone in the suggie thread mentioning about them.

But have you planned for one right after you get back to Malacca?
You will need a fridge to prevent your own mix from going bad.

Here. Check the home appliances category.

I guess the mini car freezer should be enough to fit one mix in there. And it's very affordable too. Will definitely be able to fit your budget. smile.gif

Sighs.. like I said, Malaysia's dog food would never be suitable for suggies, even given in small amounts. Those recipes you have there are most likely good brand that will cost a bomb.

Enough with the flaming already ler guys. It wouldn't help the glider at all. Can we just settle this calmly? At least for the sake of little Felix.

And yeah, Hunnnnn! Where are youuu? sweat.gif

Nope. That name wasn't intended to name him. It was his original name.

Since you have not chosen a name for him, I figured I'll just use Felix until you come up with one. It's a lot easier than saying 'the glider' all the time. Lols.

Btw, I've realised you've never mentioned this Jon, but are you planning to get a separate cage for Felix?
And when you do get another female, you realise that you have to separate the male and female first, right?

That's good. Currently where are you placing him?

You can send to someone to babysit it for awhile. Maybe you could have thought of getting the glider after your papers.

You don't really need to spend a full 12 hours everyday, but try to as frequent as you can. Sometimes when I don't bring Miko out with me, Ben's family members would play with her for a couple of hours. It's stimulation and interaction that's very important. But of course, you should be the primary one to bond and play with it.

Yeap, sometimes I'll let my bf babysit Shurie while I'm in class for a while. Shurie currently is bonded to me and him. She treats him like her toilet while me as her playground + main food provider. sweat.gif

Everyone was just advising you. If you had done your research in the first place, this argument wouldn't have started. Please be a little considerate and think from other's point of view too.

I don't want to start another war but if you had read back the past few posts, you did sounded a little ignorant. It's easy to be misunderstood that online.

Btw, you interested in babysitting Shurie for 2 days? I'll be going up Genting this weekend and I was thinking of leaving Shurie with my sister. But she definitely won't play with Shurie, so poor Shurie's gonna be so bored without me. sweat.gif

Aiko's a female. Chika's the male.

And Shurie is a little older than Felix, if I'm not mistaken. Her size and tail was more fluffy and larger than Felix when I got her.

QUOTE(sangterap @ May 23 2007, 08:06 PM)
People,

Many a time when we encounter people in distress, we are caught in between whether to help the OWNER or the PET itself.

And many a time it is for the LOVE of the PET that we advice. Because without proper knowledge the OWNER will not be able to save the PET.

So that being said, please be reminded that when people response to you, it does not necessary mean they are condoning to what you are doing. They ONLY have your PET's best interest in mind.

PET can be seen as commodities/tools for OWNER to have a better LIFE. The fact is, we really owe a lot to our PETS. Humans are always guilty of using them as a TOOL.

I am not against breeding. But we must all acquire the knowledge and most importantly, be very certain of all the consequences that awaits us.

I am not implementing that everyone have the intention to breed even if you have the intention to breed, I only hope that we ensure the quality of our actions. What PETS are we going to pass on to our fellow comrades and of course, our next generation.

That being said, I do not wish to flame anyone. But the problem is, we sometimes need to be cruel to be kind.

After all, it is for the best of our BEST FRIENDS - not only dog in particular. All of you would agree with me that, you all love your Sugar Gliders very much right?

Just imagine one day, they are wiped out from the face of the earth. How would you feel?

Let's go for QUALITY.

P/S: And with all due respect, it is plainly sangterap.

Very well said. smile.gif rclxms.gif

I was thinking of bringing her along to Genting also but then decided against it because I'm worried Genting might be too cold. And also the new environment might stress her.

Yeah, it's more advisable to get a pair of the same gender. Even if you don't intend to breed, accidents may happen if both genders are put in the same cage.

I noticed Shurie loves nibbling on my fingers every now and then, but lately her nibbling seems to get harder and harder. At one time, it even felt like she was trying to bite my finger. Ack. Wonder what did I do wrong. hmm.gif

*cough*
And now she has gone on to biting my feet. sweat.gif
