wont they feel stress or tired when they are in ur bag or pouch or pocket?

cos if buy back, those gals housemate sure say "wah so cute,i wanna play, since housemate & fren i cant be so stingy & reject them rite..paiseh.." but the SG havent tame with me yet duno who is owner ledi let them play..die la like that..SG duno which is owner..haha
*
If you have read, you'll know that suggies are marsupial, thus they are accustomed to pouches and they grew in their mommies' pouch. Bags, no-no cuz you'll have other stuff in it and it will probably harm the suggie, pouches and pockets are fine.

Even tho frens or housemates, you have to tell them off about suggies, they are not toys, not even normal pets, they're exotics.

QUOTE(snowcandy @ Jun 18 2007, 02:01 AM)
And KP brings her to work also, she even sings to Iggy some times. biggrin.gif

Urm, and I think that having too much stress can cause a glider to die. Not only a glider, actually, but stressing any animal out too much would probably cause it to die.
*
I don't sing to Iggy anymore since he has Luna, without her, sing also tak jalan, still want Luna tongue.gif

QUOTE(sense_less143 @ Jun 18 2007, 03:01 PM)
Just want to say thanks to KP for the pouch, it arrived already and wasabi is currently sleeping soundly inside it  tongue.gif

Btw, I read the earlier posts, and someone said about an OOP joey being as big as Shurie?? My wasabi is so small, and it's already 4 months old. Snow can vouch me on that, my wasabi is smaller than shurie even tho he's a male.

Should I blame the breeder who sold him to me or what? I know before he used to feed wasabi only apple, bread, and cat food.
*
You're welcome nod.gif

Well, as Hun explained earlier, it could be from the way the breeders feed and take care of them that resulted in the different sizes and some worse cases are that the breeders will lie about their real age. Technically yeah, some breeders are to be blamed, but since we have very2 few home breeders, what to do.

Just keep on feeding Wasabi with good food and take good care of him, I'm sure he'll grow to be a big and handsome boy wub.gif

QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Jun 18 2007, 05:12 PM)
about the size. i do know a few glider are smaller even they are older. kiah is a year plus but my 7months old chika is much bigger . better wait for KP or Hun to explain . they are the expert ..  tongue.gif
*
Err, I think Hun has explained in the prev post, furthermore I'd also think it's the "baka" (breed). Good quality parents, must produce good and healthy babies right?

Anyway, yeah, Shadow and Jarrah are about Shurie's size when we met at PS that day, I was also surprised, but good also, easier to handle smile.gif

Owh, Hun has bathed Iggy and Luna, rclxms.gif now both are smelling good but wonder how long it will last cuz I still see poos inside the pouch (which is Luna's poo, cuz her poos are smaller than Iggy tongue.gif ) doh.gif

Now I know how to bathe, mebbe if the need arises, I can do myself, but hopefully it doesn't lah tongue.gif

Ohh, Hun, Iggy says sorry that he bit you, he said he doesn't like water very much tongue.gif

Thanks again Hun!

I wanted to ask this for a long time. What makes sugar gliders stress out and die exactly? Because, like snow, I bring my sg to college, and of course my friends make a fuss about it and wants to see it and all lah.

Question 2- now everyday I put wasabi on my body, let him travel a bit up down up down. How long should this be? Wasabi is still not fully bonded so he tends to want to go back to his cage. I'm worried if I do it for too long there will be negative effects, stress or whatnot.

Q3- Wasabi developed a yellowish tinge on his belly lah. And he was so white before too sweat.gif Is it because of his diet or what? Foods I gave: mealworms, apple, lai, watermelon (once), grapes (once), hun's mix.

Well, suggies are social creatures so if they are left alone for a long time, they'll get stressed and lonely, this can lead to self mutilation and eventually die also. That's why we stressed to wannabe suggie owners that they need a lot of time and attention, basically they need company.

You can let him be on your body for as long as you like or for as long as he will stay on you smile.gif The longer, ofcourse the better wink.gif

The yellowish tinge is his scent marking. Male suggies has scent glands on their chest, forehead (thus the 'botak' eventually) and anus. No worries on that, it's normal.

Since the day before, Shurie has been hiding somewhere in my room. Usually I know her hiding spots so I'm able to find her before I go off to college, but now, she's found a better one and I can't seem to be able to locate her during the daytime at all. sweat.gif

Is this even normal for a suggie?

Shurie still comes out to play during the night, but goes back to her hiding spot without me noticing all the time.

Ohh it's normal alright because they're nocturnal, so it's very hard to find them when they're sound asleep in their hiding spot during the day.

I have just received the glider newsletter about this topic today. If you want to put her inside the cage you're better off finding her at night when they're awake and active, during the day, chances are slim.

Hmm, if it's still new, try rubbing it with baby wipes. I got mine already with yellowish chest so it won't come off already, but it's lesser now since Iggy is better at grooming himself now.

My only worry is that since it's his scent marking, some say, the more you try to remove them, the more they'll produce it. But you can try and see wink.gif

Ah well, I wonder why Shurie decides to hide herself during the morning. Makes it tough for me to find her and bond. xP

Anyway, I'm going to meet Hun tomorrow to get Shadow! Whee! I so can't wait. Definitely won't be able to sleep tonight. biggrin.gif

Shurie pees on me all the time. It's a normal thing already. sweat.gif

Heys KP, how old was Luna when you first got her?

And Shadow active and naughty? Sounds perfect as a companion for Shurie. Hope he's able to keep up with her activeness, urm, not her naughtiness. xP

Luna was appx. 10 months old when I got her. Yesterday marked 1 month she's with me smile.gif Felt so long already.

Well, Shadow can be handled, he didn't bite or anything, but crawl a bit on me then he wanted to shoot off to somewhere else sweat.gif
