My goods are detained by the custom.
How much will pos malaysia charge for collection?
Is the custom at KLIA open on Sunday?

Thanks for the help. notworthy.gif

The charges is RM31.50 for the kastam to send my items to the nearest post office. They didn't tax me. The kastam check my items but I need to pay extra in the end. It's unfair. Anyone knows where and how to lodge a complain?

I don't think you can lodge a complain for this.
The fee you pay is for appointing Pos Office as your agent to collect the parcel from custom.

Ditahan =/= Taxable
*
I know the fee is for transferring the items from the custom to the post office.
But my items did not get any tax actually. Meaning that they wrongly tahan my items.

If like that, all imported items will be tahan by the kastam la.
And everyone will have to collect their items from the kastam or pay extra fees to send to the post office.

wallpaper and similar wall coverings; window transparencies of paper.

with margins: unit KGM (1), 20% import, 10% sales tax, add (5% frm china, 20% frm pakistan)

of a width not exceeding 60 cm: same as above

other:KGM (1),  5% import , 10% sales tax, add (5% frm china, 5% frm pakistan)

dont forget by sea anything above RM250(+shipping) is taxable.. and by air RM500(+shipping) above

Where did you get that info from?
Can you post the link over here?
So that all of us can check for the taxes of other type of items also.

i bought headphone and mousepad from taiwan

the seller post on friday, and i check the trace number..it just reach klia this morning 9am

dunno it will charge for tax anot....i hope tml can receive the package /.\
*
Yeah I would like to know this too.
If I trace the tracking number, it stated pending custom inspection, then in transit, then how can I know whether the item stuck kena tahan there or not?
I know if kena tahan you will receive a notice at your home given by the postman. But if I'm able to know that beforehand, then can save time lo.

All overseas items will go to LCCT custom first?
Or will the items be sent to the nearest custom?
My location is in Perak.

Should be. You can try to call anyway, I think they can check for you, if not you can ask for your local custom contact number.

Alright thanks.
Anyone know what usually will be written at the tracking page if the items already cleared by the custom?

My items stuck at Ipoh pos laju / kastam for the second time.
Need to waste money hiring pos laju as agent sending to the nearest post office again.

I guess it depends on which location.
Next time should put KL address so that it will go through KL kastam.

Bro, I guess you're just unlucky. sweat.gif
Is it big, the parcel? Bigger parcel tends to attract more attention.

*
It is just a small box only.
I asked them why always kena tahan, they said because the sender (seller) didn't state the price of the items in front of the box.
For the second time, I have to email them the invoice, and also pay RM31.50 as the delivery charges. sweat.gif

I'm going to receive another small box next week but this time will change my location.
Let's see what will happen.

the pos office people tell me that if the value / price of the items are clearly stated, they will not tahan my items anymore.

let's hope they won't. don't want to waste money hiring pos malaysia as agent getting back stuff from kastam anymore.

I seriously doubt that.  shocking.gif
Even with stated USD2000, also won't tahan? Their statement seems funny. laugh.gif

I mean if the value of the items did not exceed RM500.
They tahan my parcels twice because they didn't know the value of it.
They said if items worth more than RM500 of course will get tax no matter what.

Hi all..
Just wanna ask something..
If I buy handphone accessories will it be tax?
The price will be more than rm1000..

And lastly, what does the EMS mean? Is it safe to use it?
What the best method to use for shipping when we want to buy something from China?

Because this is first time I buying from China..  sweat.gif
*
Price more than RM1000 will be tax.
EMS = express mail service just like pos laju.'
I bulk my stuff from hong kong using EMS and it's fast and safe.

I've got quite a lot of parcel which value is stated clearly and not more than RM500 still kena tahan.
Let's see how's your next parcel. smile.gif

My 3rd parcel did not get tahan by the kastam. flex.gif
I think because I change my location so I I can conclude now that the kastam of your location plays a big role in determining whether the parcel pass or should be stopped for further inspection.

By the way, if kastam didn't tahan the parcel, it can arrive from Hong Kong to me in 3 days only using EMS service. thumbup.gif

I want to buy something from oversea but afraid to do it because if kena tahan, sure a lot of money will be use..

your address location plays a part too.
my address is at tanjong malim, and all three times the parcel got tahan by ipoh kastam.
once i sent the same parcel back to my hometown, it reached me just in three days from hong kong.

not la...it's well known that ipoh kastam very strict. so avoid any address in perak if you can.
my next shipment will go back to my hometown (perlis) and then only resend to me from there using pos laju.

need advice..my EMS parcel was held by kastam

Item held by custom for inspection.
High - value goods

is that mean i need to pay tax? sweat.gif
*
They will ask you to prove the real value of the items. If it's less than RM500 then it's highly unlikely to get tax.

Yes, will see them tomorrow. The total amount is less than RM500 (About RM200) but why they want to retain it and don't want to release it and require me to go since the items are mouse, keyboard, VGA cable only and all are with 1 quantity only.

It was held by custom yesterday but I only see the update now:

10-Nov-2009  10:41  Item held by custom for inspection.
High - value goods

Damn... USD57 is considered as high value? The supplier did attach the invoice la...

The poslaju asked me go there personally.... i thought they will release after inspect or I should go there?
*
You have to collect your item from the kastam.
If not, give them a call and they will send the item to the nearest pos office for you to collect. But you have to pay them for the pos laju delivery charges.
