Case was settled after went there, inspecting the goods by officer and waited to bring in to let valuer officer to check in computer system.

No tax and took back.

Wasted 1 hour there.

I am wondering that every package that couriered from overseas must be retained by custom? Or they see the declaration form as electronic products and they will retain it?
*
It's random. But kastam in ipoh willl open each and every parcel to check. They are too free over there.
KL or Butterworth ones depends on luck sometimes.

well, the item is a japanese bamboo flute.
is a musical instrument.

The item cost 440USD.

Can i ask the seller to put the price as 50USD to bluff the kastam?
*
Oh yes, you can do that if the seller is willing to play a part in providing fake invoice too. tongue.gif

I did that with my epikcase bulk. All items worth more than RM500.
7 times parcels being send to me from hong kong.
6 times stop by the kastam, 5 times get away without tax, remaining one time got tax RM100+.

I guess also depending on the personnel / officer that handle your parcel.

Hi guys,

I won a bid from eBay for a pair of Oakley sunglasses...
It costs USD200.
Do you think it will kena tax if sent directly to me in Malaysia via USPS Express Intl Mail???
*
I bought 3 pairs of sunglasses the other day. Send in using a small box from the US. The kastam didnt even open and check. Guess depends on luck whether they check or not.

what does this mean?

on the way to my house?
*
Is your house located near BUteerworth?
For your info, there is another kastam checking at Butterworth for stuff going to Penang, Kedah or Perlis.

Just want to share my experience.

I bought 10 pieces of shirts/shorts, and was held by customs.

Went to the POS today beside LCCT, I show my invoice which is only $57 (actual around $120).
Then, i pay nothing.

The officer also said RM150++ only? "Kamu tak bernasib baik.."

DULAN

Waste 2 hours of my time in total + RM30 petrol fees.

mad.gif  mad.gif  mad.gif
But luckily i did my research here in Lowyat...at least i didnt end up paying $49.50 for POSlaju to be my agent. smile.gif
*
I always employ pos laju as my agent to get me back my stuff from the kastam. It costs RM31.50 in total each time.
I rather spend the money to pos laju rather than going there wasting time queuing up.

oh... thank u ^^ another question.. if I buy less than rm500 but many times...not at the same time.. Will they expect me doing business then tax me?
*

even if you are doing business, every shipment less than RM500 including air mail delivery fees, they cant tax you. So dont worry. Just make sure it's less than RM500 and you got proof of the value to show them.

Hi all, I just bought a jersey online, worth of 78 pounds including DHL shipping fee, converted around RM392. Will my parcel get hold by custom? If im not mistaken, goods less than RM 500 is tax free right?
*
No, will not be tax.
But maybe they will hold your parcel for further verification. If you are unlucky, they will hold the parcel and you have to go and collect it bringing together the invoice and other relevant documents to proof the price of the items.

If I go to KLIA take the item by own can ma? cos the poslaju service soso long..2 weeks already no clear for me... if The poslaju agent are doing his thing and I suddenly go KLIA to take back my item, is it possible? because the agent use damn so long time for it..i cant wait..
*
First thing first, did you appoint the pos laju service to clear the kastam for you?
Because the kastam officers will call you first and ask you to collect.
If you can't, then only they will ask for your agreement to appoint pos laju as your agent. Then you have to email / fax to them invoice / receipt to show the value of your items.

RM500.
Don't ride your luck. They can still use the old currency value of RM3.80 = USD1 to tax you.
