well i ordered blu-rays actually, so is there any tax?
and how do i declare it yea??
sorry man im new at this lol
*
if bluray disk falls under compact disc.. then its 10% sales tax anything above RM500 (total price+shipping)

I do not want to give the wrong impression that I know everything... I just refer to the Customs not user friendly webpage and look it up.. so..
take my advise at your own risk..

My question is,

Will I be taxed and how much will it be? I need to know as I have to charge my buyers the right price too. smile.gif

No time to look through the entire thread but if your item is valued at US$900, are they gonna expect you to pay 5%/10%/25% tax in US dollars too? And if the item is shipped via FedEx, etc, do you still have to collect it yourself at customs or will FedEx appoint an agent to deal with them?
*
will be converted to ringgit (samething).. fedex will call you..they will arrange and pay for you in advance.. and deliver to your address

I think for any import items above RM500, there will be import tax being charged. Usually taxed between 10%-50% of the total amount, it depends.
Unless total amount below RM500, it may be exempted.  smile.gif
*
nope, not all, a month back I bought a Laptop for RM3300, there was no tax, but due to high value item, declaration needed. cost about RM18 for the letter.

If i were to purchase an electronic item such as a cellphone worth above rm 500 and have it delivered to me via DHL and not to have it held by the customs....can i apply for AP manually and pay the tax beforehand, or does DHL handles all these stuffs for me and just backcharge me the tax amount?

As for the tax...10% of the cost of purchase + shipment is all i need to pay for the this type of goods?

Pls enlighten me!
*
you will need to get before hand sirim approval for your cellphone your self and give it to dhl for customs clearance, they will call you and inform you the duti amt to be paid, before delivery.

Hi, I am planning to get some cosmetic stuffs into Malaysia from HK. I am doing online sales. I noticed that cosmetic in bulks will be taxed, right?

So, how do I ensure that the stuffs are not detained by the custom? And another thing is how to get license from Ministry of Health or what are the documents needed? Letter or anything?

Thanks!
*
yes cosmetic will be tax according to type.. ranging from 5%-20% import duty & 10% sales tax, not held by customs? item not more than RM500(item+shipping)
I do not know about the rest of your question.. best to check with the Ministry..

I am afraid i might get taxed, how should i handle this? the item just departed japan today..I am also not sure how much tax to expect.... sad.gif
