900Mhz Spectrum will kick off! Eager to see the improved indoor performance by Digi!

Surely they won't turn on Band 8 LTE for all the cities all at once? I'm expecting them to roll it out in stages.

Not free. Have to buy add-on for this kind of specialised data.

Different network apps give me different looking formats, very confusing. Network Info II says my current cell ID is 7066214, and LTE Discovery says I'm on 006BD266 (and is on Band 7). Doesn't really tally with the table on Post #1.

Anyway I'll try making sense of it when I see new cells in my area.

just port to digi. so far so good. Just that found always no gps when using waze (or slow). anyone face this issue.
Dont have this issue when using maxis.

GPS has nothing to do with which carrier you're on. Are you sure what you're seeing is a "no GPS" problem?

Not really, mobile network may help in accelerate of locking the GPS instead of just rely on the GPS to lock
*
That's not GPS then. That's just location services, of which cellular and WiFi can also be components along with GPS.

Yes, you can get your GPS position more faster with the assisted cellular and wifi

What he's experiencing is probably not "GPS error". Just slower to lock on, that's all. The GPS satellites are not controlled by the telcis.

On 22/7, have finally seen LTE 900MHz in my area in Penang. However, the internet is very slow when on Band 8. For example, when I'm updating apps on the Play Store, it's extremely slow until I step outside the house or go upstairs to get Band 3 or 7 LTE.

One thing I found, a prepaid account in the house wasn't allowed to latch on to the B8 frequency. Only my Postpaid 110 was allowed access. Looks like they're not ready to roll it out to everybody yet.

I din test with prepaid but....
Telco cannot differentiate user by frequency spectrum..
If u say only postpaid can enter 4g then possible ....
Will try prepaid if free...

This was my experience this past weekend:.

Postoaid 110 {on OnePlus 3T}: suddenly Band 8 on ground floor of house. If go upstairs or outside, then switch to B3 or B7. However, since Monday, B3 and B7 back to normal strength, and B8 only appears in a few blind spots which previously would drop down to H+.

Prepaid Best v4 (on Samsung Galaxy S4}: B3 only downstairs, B3 or B7 upstairs. When try to force to B8, get the No Service symbol.

It could be that Digi LTE B8 is still in testing phase at my area.

Have you tried putting prepaid sim card into OnePlus 3T?
*
QUOTE(prosibu @ Jul 26 2017, 08:26 AM)
Based on ur explanation...
The cell is reserved... Mean u can from b3 or b7 to b8
But cannot go b8 directly...
Try not to force b8 n slowly walk to ground floor n try?

Else switch ur sim, see the result is same or no...

Not too keen on bringing the Prepaid SIM card over to my phone as that account is not mine. Also, my experience is that it's a pain to fit back a nano SIM to its micro SIM frame. B8 LTE is not a big issue to me as B7 and B3 LTE is reasonably strong in my area.

Well since this weekend, the network is ok with Digi Prepaid getting on to LTE 900MHz. I guess Postpaid got the priority earlier when it was still under testing. All's good now.

Have you received the SIM card?

look under FAQ - My DigiRewards

6. Why I don’t see McDonald’s voucher in MyRewards tab?
McDonald’s voucher is only applicable if you port in to Digi Prepaid via Digi Store Online only. The voucher will be delivered to your doorstep, together with SIM card.

Has anyone got the McDonald voucher?

Call them up loh. Personally I wouldn't be too excited about a mere fast food voucher.

@prosibu

At it seems not possible to get 4G+, despite being in the middle of town. Almost always get 1800MHz LTE, no CA and never gets 2600MHz LTE. Is there a reason why this area is a blindspot for LTE CA? Even my home area in the suburbs is better as getting 4G+.
