QUOTE(chinti @ Jul 10 2017, 12:27 PM) lol same here, at least twice a year for me. still 10 days is very rush for two different region unless u really know ur ways around. travelling from osaka to tokyo also half a day gone d i think their mindset is like "ahhh i ticked off some of my bucket list, yahoo !" not really experiencing the japanese culture...

QUOTE(ukiya @ Jul 12 2017, 03:11 AM) I m confused a bit with ICOCA + HARUKA and Kansai One Pass. If I'm get the Kansai One Pass, can I get Haruka discounted rate from KIX to Kyoto? Or I should stick to ICOCA + HARUKA option? Is it cheaper to buy single journey from KIX to Kyoto or return journey? But return journey I will go Osaka first before heading back to KIX. Need the cheapest option to commute around the station. And Kansai one pass can only get it in KIX Airport? my previous trip i used kansai one pass or kansai west pass...can't really remember (can only remember i bought it for 2000yen for a 1-day pass), but it can be used on haruka express and it's cheaper compared to normal haruka fare. After you reach kyoto etc, you can use the pass for unlimited train rides within 1-3 days depending on which one you bought

QUOTE(chinti @ Jul 12 2017, 10:23 AM) kansai area pass is 4500 yen for two days, u get to ride Haruka limited express which cost about 1700 yen one way, and unlimited bus and JR train for two days. Thru pass cost 4000 yen for two days but it doesnt allow u to ride Haruka express, only buses and metro (not JR line). ICOCA + Haruka cost 4200 yen for round trip KIX-Osaka, so u get round trip of Haruka express worth roughly 3000 yen and a pre-loaded 1500 yen ICOCA IC. its not unlimited, u ride until 1500 yen finished then u go top up again. when u return the ICOCA IC u get bak 500 yen meaning it cost only 3700 yen for round trip Haruka express and a 1500 yen worth of ride. kansai area pass is worth it if u ride more than 3000 yen worth of buses and JR line in two days which seems to be a lot even for Tokyo, thru pass definitely not worth it, and ICOCA + Haruka is by far the best among these three. thanks for the quick response ! i checked back my 2013 itinerary...i did purchase kansai area pass 1-day for 2000yen, used it for kix - kyoto haruka express...then use it on unlimited bus and JR train for 1 day. At that time, was icoca + haruka option (with haruka express return trip to kix up to 14 days) available already ?. i guess for my next kansai trip i will opt for I+H

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Jul 17 2017, 11:17 AM) You guys are splitting up is it? If that's the case then yes, more convenient to use SIM. http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.com/wiki/Japan FREETEL is cheaper than U-Mobile and you can find it in Yodobashi and BIC, scroll down link to check it out: Data rates The SIM is either valid for 7 or 30 days according to package and not extendable in time, only expandable in volume: 1 GB for 7 days: ¥1,780 plus tax (Amazon.jp/Yodobashi: ¥1,922; Amazon.com: US$12.99) 2 GB for 30 days: ¥2,780 plus tax (Amazon.jp/Yodobashi: ¥3,000; Amazon.com: US$24.99) When you have used up your data allowance, speed will be reduced to 150 Kbps for the rest of the validity. The only add-on option is 500 MB for ¥980 to be bought on their website. Social media of Facebook, WeChat, WhatsApp, Kakaotalk and Line is not debited from the data allowance and is free of charge. 1gb for 7 days...not enough for me

QUOTE(Grimtooth @ Jul 18 2017, 09:34 PM) I'm for the DIY since you specifically mentioned Eat & Shop. What I'd do is below if I'm in your shoes. 1. Roughly plan what to eat and shop. 2. Ask recommendation where to get in (1). 3. Decide on region(Kansai/Hokkaido/Kanto/Tohoku etc) 4. Find out more on food/attraction in that region. 5. Decide number of days annual leaves to apply. 6. Plan itinerary. 7. Book flight/accommodation. 8. Wait for epic tummy tour. usually i grab cheap flights first before proceeding to do step #1 - #8 but if no budget limit then your steps are good

QUOTE(yom@m@ @ Jul 19 2017, 04:14 PM) want to survey about airfare price. from KUL-Osaka-KUL or from KUL-Tokyo-KUL or from KUL-Hokkaido-KUL (basically from KUL to major cities in Japan) taking into account any flight company, transit or multi-city flights, excluding zero fare, free seats etc I've been to Japan a few times with AA. I normally pay around RM1040 (with 20kg luggage 1 way & no food) to KIX & HND. Sometimes multi-city also that price. how much is considered 'normal' or 'average' price to pay for a return flight to Japan? just wondering whether all this while i've been rip-off with fares around rm1000-1500...you can consider ANA or JAL my cheapest flight to KIX is rm600 / pax return, of course dependent on which month you are going...
