Yes suggest you take a look at Osaka and then move to Kyoto.
Or, you can travel straight to Kyoto furst and then enjoy last 2-3 days in Osaka before flying off. I feel that the 2nd option will be less hectic for you two as it's towards the end of the trip and you can relax in the last 2-3 days without having to move (pack and then to airport).

Will recommend the Aquarium in Osaka - it's one of the biggest aquarium in Asia and friend told me it's very enjoyable. He could spend a whole day there. And no, it's not like he's a sea creature fanatic

2k per person or for two? since it will be cold, its best not to rent a bicycle and u r not familiar around the places as well. for kyoto just get a bus day pass at 500yen, very cheap.

Can u read Chinese words? Bringing kids around shouldn't b much of a problem in Japan.

yeap, also no eating while walking. its a pain in the ass to find trash can in japan other than train station. its recommended to eat in front of the store u bought ur foods at and throw it at the trash can the store prepared

This is my first time to Japan. I'm thinking of starting from Tokyo all the way to Osaka then fly back to Tokyo Haneda airport. The flight ticket time does not look so pleasing to me. Somehow if comparing with train, Train is even faster than flight for my case. haha

So u suggest to finish tokyo area first, then after that taking train to Kyoto, then Osaka. Then flight back to Tokyo?

after seeing the post above, i started to wonder is it enough day for me to cover osaka/kyoto/kobe in 1 week time.

Colleague said its around Narita area that is not much to visit except the temple, main Haneda he said definitely alot of stuff there.

I did explain to her. But she thinks that she wants to visit more other state. A lot of her fren and my fren as well took 2 weeks holiday and visit Osaka Kyoto and Tokyo. Knowing that schedule will definitely pack. But what I think is that she wants to experience everything like Bullet Train, having Bento in train. Scenary etc.

I kinda fine with 15 days Tokyo, cause I know that there is a lot of place that can go. ( Watch Japan Hour often and really there is a lot of nice place ).

Will recommend that you Tokyo is towards the end of your trip. For you to rush back - it's very taxing and trust me - kills all the mood going home. Best to do it this way:

Land Tokyo > straight to Osaka > enjoy kansai > shinkansen back to Tokyo > enjoy Tokyo > fly to SG

Hi guys, I am travelling to Japan in December. Below is my plan, which is more or less confirmed:

Day 1 – arrive Tokyo Haneda
Day 2 – Tokyo
Day 3 – Disneyland
Day 4 – Disney Sea
Day 5 – Travel to Kyoto
Day 6 – Kyoto
Day 7 – Day trip to Osaka and return to Kyoto at night
Day 8 – Travel to Hokkaido via shinkansen, overnight at Hakodate
Day 9 – Travel to Niseko
Day 10 – Niseko
Day 11 – Travel to Lake Toya
Day 12 – Lake Toya
Day 13 – Travel to Sapporo
Day 14 – Sapporo
Day 15 – Travel to Tokyo via shinkansen
Day 16 – Tokyo
Day 17 – Tokyo
Day 18 – depart from Tokyo Narita

My plan is to get the 14 days JR pass due to my schedule to and fro Hokkaido and will only activate it on the day to Kyoto. And in order to avoid standing in the train (assume it's peak season) I will be utilising my JR pass to reserve seats.

In Tokyo, I will use the PASMO/SUICA etc card as suggested above.

In Hokkaido, I believe I am able to utilise the JR pass on certain train rides.

Is this plan OK or is there a better way to save some money in terms of transportation?

Or i need to purchase the ICOCA card for travelling in Osaka/Kyoto?
I tried looking into the transportation arrangment, but still blur blur about it.
JR Pass is the major transportation company and from the website, i understand it suppose to cover almost all the route.
Not sure, i need to study on this again.

You're right, it's very packed. I'm not gonna comment on the Kawaguchiko and Hakone because you're driving and it's within your control to skip any of the places inside easily.

Day 5
- I think you should put a longer buffer time. Don't forget that you're taking the train, and give some leeway to walk and get lost.
- I'm sure some of you will walk around Tokyo Skytree since you're there (it's attached to a mall - Solamachi), it's very tempting to shop and look around.
- The venue to take the Water Bus is in Asakusa. Might as well in the morning:

Tokyo Skytree >> Asakusa Sensoji >> Water Bus >> Odaiba

- I have doubts about Nihonbashi due to your tight schedule. It may be do-able but very very tiring. All these travelling takes your energy away. 
- And there's no way you'll be able to do Akiba or Ueno Park hahahaa

Day 6
- Not much comment, seems fine.
- But there's nothing much in Roppongi.

Day 7
- You seemed to have a really short time. Optionally consider Kamakura which is possible for a day trip. For me, Nikko seems to have a lot to see/ visit and 1 day didn't seem enough. Then again, it's up to individual.
