Why do we even need quad SLI anyway. It' s not that playing games on 30" display 200fps is gonna make you more 1337 or godlike anyway

does this proofs that a 'normal' rig with one processor, two sticks of ram, one 8800GTX and 1/2 harddisk, a 400W True Power PSU would suffice?

^ my OCed X2 with 7950GX2, quad Raptors, high voltage rams and dual optical drives doesn't even tax my 500 watter enough to even make it sing lah. This high wattage grab is just countering the processor industry's shift to performance per watt.

seriously... 90% of users dont need 1k watt PSU like that
unless u got quad sli/ dual 8800GTX, u need the mostly 700watt though.. |

most of us definitely wont need tat Galaxy 1kw psu 4 our rigs... but as far as IT goes...every manufacturer will push d limits with their tech/products... & every end-users/enthusiast would most often wanted 2 know bout greatest hardwares...even though they wont own 1... rite? we cant b goin backwards on IT technology rite??? wat Enermax was doin all this while is to show tat they're d very very very few among all those PSU out there tatz really TRUE in performance&power!!! agree??? not only their whooping Galaxy 1kw...but other series they have r also GREAT, POWERFUL/ STABLE & RELIABLE... haha..i wont deny tat i'm an Enermax user as well la... Added on March 27, 2007, 7:45 pm QUOTE(jcliew @ Mar 27 2007, 07:41 PM) itz not only about how high d wattage is... other aspects hav 2 b taken into consideration s well: reliability & stability r some of it!!!s far s workstations/servers/ rigs tat r operating 24/7 (almost 365) This post has been edited by hybrid_monster: Mar 27 2007, 07:45 PM |

haha, 1kw sucks 1kw of power to run your sub 300watts rig. all your components will blow up and burn down your house and kill your whole family while they're asleep. even if it's a 1jigawatts flux capacitor PSU, if your rig only draws 300watts max, it'll still use 300watts ONLY!!!. It has absolutely no affect on your electric bill. |

YOu'd be smacked in the face over the "performance" of the 4rigs combined. They're trying to make you go "WOW!! OMG1337H4XOMFGROXXOR!!!oneone!!!11!!" |

After all, C2D has designed max TDP of 65W. Not to mention DDR2 using lower volatages, the ancillaries using a few watts each, and the 8800GTS? 175W, max.... 8800GTX only has 185W max load.
anyway, ENERMAX do this to show that they are capable and reliable company. for more info, can look through Computer Power User (CPU) May 07 issue. got high-end and mid-range psu comparisons. PC n Power Cooling USD499 1KW PSU, anyone? *yes, may issue. not a typo. i know month of april don't even start yet... |

Reliable is questionable as I've noticed lots of Enermax's giving tons of headaches to owners here and overseas. But I'm willing to give benefit of the doubt if less and less people are going to complain about it.
