2016 model not affected?

BTW the waze beta in aa, does it show direction in cluster meter there too?
*
I'm not 100% sure coz this is the info from US CivicX forum - only certain cars from 2017 batch is affected.

Waze Beta for AA - yes there is direction in Meter Cluster, but slightly buggy:
• sometimes doesn't update until the next turn
• difference of 10m distance between meter cluster and waze on HU
• it takes around 70-110m of driving distance before the distance on the meter cluster updates

QUOTE(apasarahannika @ Jul 14 2017, 10:22 PM)
I got the letter too, anyone done their replacement? How long does it take?
*
From the CivicX forum, it takes around an hour to replace - and most of the time is taken to wait for the coolant to cool down.

Hi,

I am getting my civic TCP end of th month
Anyone can recommend me any good tint?

The SA say the Honda ecotint/3m is nothing, tint = no tint. She ask me to go for speedykool - anyone heard before?

Thanks
*
Speedykool... Seriously never heard of this tint - might be a housebrand tint. If I were you, you'd better go research a few tints, or go read the tint advice section in F&F. Last poll on tint that I did last time was, 5 Huper Optik, 4 Llumar, 4 Raytech, 3 3M, 3 VKool.

Just received my ride a few days ago, TC-P Luna Silver. Have been driving around and enjoying it every minute. This my first Honda, I never drive a Honda before. Coming from an old school manual car (Alfa Romeo), Civic IMO is simply too hi tech. I am not used to the hand brake button and things like auto head lights. Gradually adapting to it.

As for performance and handling, so far so good. Have not push the car to the limit yet. At a later date, going hilly roads for a test. I find crossing roundabouts and overtaking no problemo. CVT isn't comparable to manual but it is not bad for an auto gear, quite smooth. Driving around town with moderate traffic short distance, up till now is about 9.3 km/l.

I think I make the right choice of buying TC-P, it looks better with the LED and GPS is immediately useful when the first time I driving back from the Honda showroom, since not familiar with that area.

Glad to have you with us, and enjoy your ride!

I'm considering civic x between 1.8 and tc.
Heard 1.5 turbo engine sound is loud. no
Is it 1.8 is underpower? no
Civic 1.8 and hrv is same engine and gearbox? yes, I think...
*
1.5 is more powerful than the 1.8, but the 1.8 is not necessarily underpowered. Gearbox for the 1.8 is different than the 1.5 to account for the extra power that the 1.5 engine generates.

You should go read post #1 to make the decision between 1.8 & tc.

Hi,

Thanks for your info. I might go for 3M crystelline since it is more general.
May I know what tint you're using right now?
*
Llumar Diamond 6 for side windows and Llumar Gold for front & back windows.

izzit all our civic when tinted the rear windscreen need remove the rear seat to get the film in?
*
No, mine didn't require this, but it is hard to do the rear screen. I know some installers require to remove the seats though - if it's an issue to you, can ask around for other dealers who don't need to do that smile.gif

I am having a problem with Garmin GPS unit. The GPS seems to be stuck at a position in the map. It is always Acquiring Satellites, the satellite icon keep on blinking. At times it is not responsive. I have try reboot HU a few times but does not solve problem entirely. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't.

For TCP owners, is this unusual ?
Is there another way to reset it ?

May I know where you are living? If it's in high rise areas, satellite lock would often take longer times. Have you applied tint? I dunno if it's true, but somehow or rather, my phone GPS will get wonky on VKool tints. On 3 separate cars applied with VKool tint, my phone gps could not get a decent lock and often drift away.

Normally if I'm in an unfamiliar area, I would stop by at the side and wait for a few minutes for the GPS to get a lock first - this usually happens when getting out of an underground parking area tongue.gif Waiting for the lock while stopping is faster to get a satellite lock, compared to waiting for the lock while driving.

I am in Shah Alam, not many high rise here and not often go underground parking  tongue.gif . The car is tint with V Kool. I check with my iphone, google maps is OK. Stopping or moving, it is not locking. Funny, it was working when I was first driving back to Shah Alam from Seri Kembangan. I wonder if is faulty unit.

I am going to drive test with phone google map, let's see if any difference. Tint problem or other issue.
*
Faulty unit - possible, but I'm more inclined to think it's the VCool tint causing this. I might be wrong though... Do let us know your findings. p/s, turning off and on the HU doesn't really work. If you want to restart your HU, you need to long press the power button and press on turn off iinm.

Since you're using iPhone, you can use Apple CarPlay + Apple Maps to navigate too. If you want to use Google Maps, you need to use an Android device, or root your iPhone to access it via CarPlay.

Below are my fee breakdown for my 20k service + B service
20k service labour      71.55
engine oil labour  39.75
oil filter labour          15.90
evaporator labour        19.88
engine oil            126.10
washer drain    1.89
oil filter catridge    32.86
evaporator,cooling coil  108.12

total 416.05
Anyone know anything about the evaporator or cooling coil?
Service personal say it is recommended to do every 10k. He include it since I did not do it during my last 10k.

I was refering to bro isr25 's 20k service list and found that mine have extra evaporator charged. Can't find any information here, so I thought I'd share.
*
Evaporator & cooling coil do every 10K? That's ridiculous! Is it under add-on / optional items? Seriously your service center is adding unnecessary items imho. Looks like they changed evaporator & cooling coil, rather than servicing / clean those items. Iinm only air cleaner element is supposed to be done every 30K... should go email Honda Malaysia and complaint on this SC.

guys, any of u have this problem with your car?

everytime i start the car, it will be blank like this. Can be cancelled by pressing the info button on the steering

it happens after i updated my android auto on my phone, and connect it to my car. Since then it will always be like this.

If i use google maps from android auto, it is almost impossible to cancel it out by pressing the info button on the steering, coz it will keep on showing this after a few seconds

Will only go to SC in october for my next service
*
If this is a result of Android Auto, just uninstall it, then install it back again. Sometimes I face issues in loading Waze / Google Maps - an uninstall and install of Android Auto again would resolve these issues smile.gif

The evaporator is considered under additional/recommended. So next time when you guys go for service, rmb that it is optional.

Also, the person told me that my batch of civic have gearbox problem. It is covered under warranty, i need to send it to them and leave it overnight for 1 day to fix it.
*
Is this the load startup noise issue?

QUOTE(munky @ Jul 18 2017, 07:37 PM)
problem is, it is somehow permanent on the car. It happens even if the phone is not connected

i tried downloading older version of android auto and connect to the car. It makes no difference
*
Never knew that this could be a permanent problem - maybe try disabling bluetooth on your phone? It's trying to load info via bluetooth possibly?

I asked him, he said it is not the engine start, he said civic turbo will have some louder noise during start up, the noise is normal. ( exactly what he told me last time when i send in during 1k service). He said this gear box issue is different. I asked is it about VSA, he claims not related to VSA .

I'll try talking to the service center manager and update you all when I get any extra information.
*
It's not about the turbo, nor is it about the VSA. The loud grinding noise is about the lower valve body in the CVT.

I know there is a grinding noise during engine ignition, he say that is normal for turbo.

So have you went and change this?

The grinding noise is "normal" as in all Civic Turbo cars exhibit this noise, but it is changeable. I didn't complain yet, but a few people managed to change the CVT.

VS - Voltage Stabilizer? Didn't put this on my car - nor do I know anyone who put's this.

Anyone tried installing the new Waze Beta V4.26.0.903, saw that it supports Android Auto on APKMirror.

Does this work for Civic as well or crashing like the previous version?

Thanks.

903 does not support Android Auto. 113, 901, 902 and 904 does

I wanted to update in this thread on 904 (available early morning today) but I didn't see it in APK Mirror. 903 is regular Waze Android Beta, so I dunno why they said it's Android Auto compatible.

You can download 902 for now, and upgrade to 904 when it's available.

So my 20k service is due next week, for 1.8 user, other than optional evaporator and cooling coil we need to note, what else is recommended to do at SC?

Should we remind them to check the battery health status as well?
any chance to get a brand new battery maybe...
*
When the service advisor informs you on the stuff to do, ask him which is mandatory, and which is optional / add on. Usually when they print out the service form sheet, it's split into the normal preventative maintenance stuff on top (standard package), optional/add-on products and services in the middle (additional items), and your requested additional services/check-up at the bottom (comment, complaint, info, inspection & remark).

Anything that's in the middle (additional items) is optional, and you may request them to remove or not perform it if you want to.

Hi, any owners of the 1.8 version here? Would like to know how's your experience. Recently placed booking for mine. Is it easier/cheaper to maintain compared to 1.5TC?
*
I own the TC-P, but yes, the 1.8 is easier & (slightly) cheaper to maintain compated to the Turbo engine. Every 6 months or 10,000km, go preventative maintenance.

Turbo needs to follow normal PM & Maintenance Minder for oil change - may, or may not be the same as normal PM schedule.

Latest Waze for Android Auto Beta v4.26.0.906 is out.
