Managed to complete the tempered Kirin quest at first try, solo

Was a SA close range melee bro, one of the worst way to fight a tempered Kirin IMO
was having so much problem killing the HR Kirin already, carted lots of time
and most of the other HR/tempered fights was at the receiving end as well

So I switched to LBG for a change, it really felt like easy mode of MH

3 x Kirin piece, and L3 Lighting resistance + Thunderproof mantle
taking it slow & steady, cheap shot him with slicing shot, while laying wyvern blast in front waiting for him to charge me & boom!

I think I spend almost 100 slicing shot, went back to camp twice to restock

make sure you complete all of the optional LR capture quest, only then it will unlock the final 5 stars quest to hunt a Kirin
only then you'll get the thunderproof mantle

had fun with melee high DPS no block built
then had fun with ranged agile again no block built
now you guys making me wanna make a tank block all built

any range weapon will be easier to break his horn

I wasn't getting any horn and veil by using my SA till I switched to LBG

It's rare to see SnS player, I see hunting horn more than SnS, even tho HH supposed to be the rarest weapon ppl use

Full set zorah armor is best for early HR, easier to farm as well

those are easy if you spam flash pod, bring 10 flash bugs with you to craft on the go
13 flash pod is more than enough to kill any of the flying monster

don't forget to eat your meal before any mission for buffs to make the hunt easier

IMO Legiana is so much easier than Rathalos

and don't be shy to use your SOS also

Craft them! don't be stingy with your mats/harvest early on, else you'll end up with lots of unused mats in later game, and asking yourself, what am I hoarding them for?

I am piss poor in end game

all of the augmented upgrades are bloody expensive

Tempered Kirin is easier when properly equipped, and with range attacks

Tempered Nergi is another story
Last night managed to get it limping back to it's lair, I shoot some dragon pod at it to aggro it back
it rushed at me, me managed rolled aside to avoid, but still mission failed
my 3 other team mate was directly behind me, busy sharpening when they saw Nergi limping away

I can't stress it enough, Nergi is the most dangerous in his narrow lair, IMO 8 x Megabombs is not worth it if you keep dying in his lair

likewise with Kushala, don't let it back to its lair, you don't have much space to evade his winds

there's a time limit on how long a monster will stay in a map during expedition, but not sure about actual limit tho, I think should be around 30mins
it's to prevent you cheesing the stronger monster to death

That Barroth is not the same Barroth you fought earlier, it will have full health

investigation is the best way to farm for parts if that's what you're looking for

you'll need to collect the monster tracks to unlock the investigation
usually similar tier monster investigation will unlock from collecting the similar monster, but it's still pretty random
Collect more Anjanath tracks, you'll unlock it eventually

LOL, those investigation are just optional, it's there for you to farm mats & zennies
you can just delete those "boring" or unrewarding one, you don't need to do all of them
again, you're playing MH wrong

FYI, augmented fully upgraded R6 armor piece can have more defense compared to augmented fully upgraded R7, R8 armor piece

so don't assume it's lower grade armor than R8 then it's not worth the upgrade.

it's just an excuse to give you the Zorah armor piece to prepare you for the HR

easy solo?
hide at a corner and let them kill each others, when one ran away, dung bomb the other one, most likely they'll run into each other again, round 2 fight!
rinse & repeat, when one is near dead, just trap it, the other one also won't have much health left
