Hello there im a EVO 8 owner just wanna ask some questions bout this speaker...is it ok to leave it running for long hours...?will it effect the speaker such as the LCD gets spoilt or the speaker gets damaged..hope i posted in the right place...thx

@scriptkiddo:im using ego and enzo7000. for enzo when im not using it i turn it off since it my expensive speaker that i got, can't afford to lose one so quickly. but for ego i really doesn't care to turn it off though. as long as your ventilation in the room is okay, i think there is really no harm leaving it standby.

I am planning to get the enzo7000 mainly for movie from my PC. Is there any other points need to consider beside those you have listed on your review previously? How is the performance on movie? Did you hang the Rear Speaker on wall?

I wish to get a 5.1 home theater speakers with optical input.

well if you are using enzo 7000 with pc certainly you may have greater control on it in term of volume leveling. which if you hear faintly the rear speaker you can always adjust it in ac3filter setting. you doesn't really need to go for optical out since pc can also have spdif which is enzo have two spdif input for it.

on performance in movie, i think its very good, since its a multimedia speaker that is closest to home theater. enzo bass are reliable its nothing like other series in sonic gear family. i do own ego and edifier m1310. when you already use hearing to enzo this speaker just aren't able to satisfied me especially with the clarity and the bass. i always watch ff7 advent children, and its totally a different experience watching movie using mini home theater.

please be note that even though you are watching 2 channel audio video or just a mp3 you still can hear surround sound. i think what it call .. matrix decoding or something like that

for hanging your speaker at the wall i don't think it will give much freedom you put it there. i use my speaker stand that i made myself. here my speaker stand


and yeah be sure to buy it around RM500 or below since the best price i have seen is rm480. at first it ws sold at 570 then i bargaing untill at 530

oh by the way, i've never used digital connection using my laptop since my laptop doesnt have spdif or optical out. i used to play video using sms on ps2. but there is this hi-fi mode that only can be activated when you in the 2chnl mode. it greatly enhace the sound (louder and clearer).

Regarding the input, the optical S/PDIF should have a better connection compare to the analogue input, right? I will still get the surround sound with the optical S/PDIF connection, right? Does the Enzo7000 come with the optical S/PDIF cable? Did you have a soft copy of the manual of Enzo7000? If yes, then really appreciate if you could share it with me.

hongty, thankfully sonic gear give us free optical cable inside the box. for spdif you can use a "rca cable"(i think they were 6 rca cable in the box), or 3.5mm head jack that have rca head at the other side.

for the manual book i lost it when i open my box.. i dont even know how its looks.. so im too serching for soft copy of the mnual. i've tried asking many people who got the manual but unfortunately no response.

bro i wanna ask another thing my EVO 8 is stated both subwoofer and satelite magneticly shielded but some of my fren say tat i still can effect my lappy..if i keep it near i put my satelite on the both side of my lappy so will it actually effect my laptop...?anyway to prevent tis

did anyone ever care about speaker being magnetically shield? i myself wasnt sure the effect anyway. it wasn't the same if you put your handphone near your tv, monitor or speaker. anyway since it said it was magnetically shield i think you should just think it that way. the emp cause by speaker aren't strong as handphone so.. just leave as it is are much better.

Yes it can effect laptop especially HDD... To be safe juz put them at least 20 inches away from ur lappie...

btw if your desk aren't very large and ready to sacrifice a little sound quality you can always put the satelite speker below the desk along with subwoofer. not too bad anyway .

umm i got a SonicGear Apocalypse A3

it is not working now, i think its tube got burn or something like that bcoz i can see some whitish stuff inside the tube

since then it has been shelved in the store room for sometime now

anyone face the same problem here?

anyone here know how to change the tube?

i might consider selling if i cant fix it so-
anyone wants a faulty speaker because the only problem is the tube other than that are all in good condition?

erm..im new here....anyone noe any sonig gear speaker has good bass...and wont spoilt fst....budget not high rm 200....i having evo3...suck....bass full for 2 day..spoilt...

@kumanosuke: why dont you try finding and replacing the tube that are similiar sold at audio/electricaal accesory shop shop, i dont think the apocalypse might blow you to the kingdom come

after reading this thread, i found out i can go back to sonic gear service centre in Sunway Damansara to get a replacement vacuum tube

the price they quote for me is RM50-60 per tube

so i want to ask
have any fellow forummers got their replacement vacuum tube for their SonicGear speaker at audio or accessory shop because i scare SonicGear service centre RIPme off ?

if YES... then how much did does 1 vacuum tube costs and where did you get it?

i also wonder about the same thing. will the led spoil if my speaker is left on too long?

and also one thing i don't like about this speaker is that i can hear some sounds when a handphone is put nearby..

and when i turn off some switches nearby the speaker make some sounds..

LED life span long lasting until you not believe, won't burn so easily one...

handphone EMI wave will affect and make noise, normal.

when you on/off some switches, your speaker will sounds 'click/pop', its normal, buy a voltage regulator will fix the problem.
