sorry for the short intro. here are more details bout the game.
RedOctane's follow-up to the critically acclaimed rhythm game. Guitar Hero II features a brand-new and expanded track list, more venues and new play modes, and aims to rock longer and harder than its predecessor. RedOctane has once again teamed up with veteran music game developer Harmonix for the sequel, and is using famed recording studio WaveGroup for its music production, who also recorded the covers for the licensed tracks in the original Guitar Hero. The Xbox 360 version also adds 10 new songs, downloadable content features, leaderboards and online features, plus support for the Guitar Hero X-Plorer guitar controller. I don't think that my post has the boasting intention. Maybe some ppl interpreted it that way (hey we all have different mindset and thinking), so I really don't care as everyone has their own right to express their thoughts, ideas or feeling or whatever they want to say.
Ok I just rephrase it my post. I've been playing this game for 3 days now and although without any guitar and I'm using my X360 gamepad to play, this game still rocks and yes it's NTSC/UC and it's region free. |

Hence, if you wanna be a pirate then go ahead, but do remember that there is also risks coming together with it. So.. Enjoy fellow gamers! Back to the Guitar Hero II topic, Is it possible to get the game separately without the guitar? The game is just too expensive for me. Just look at me as a poorass fellow but then.. RM400 for the game with just 50 songs in it .. and not denying any DLC that is coming out sooner for it.... *i would rather get myself a brand new acoustic guitar* |

OT : I love my Kancil 660cc....yeah I do own one. It's nothing wrong with it as long as it still can get me where I want to go.
Tomorrow there will be a GH2 party at my friend's house in Kajang. We all going to use the gamepad as we don't need the guitar to enjoy this game. |

 Possessing a Geraldo-like level of journalistic investigation skills, our cruel masters at Joystiq have uncovered more info on the faulty X-plorer guitars that shipped with the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II. It seems that the majority of whammy bar problems are being reported by owners of the guitar with the pedal jack near the power chord, model 95055. The other model, with the pedal jack near the headset jack and shoulder strap, model 95065, doesn't seem to be generating as many complaints (though our own David Dreger is reporting issues with his). Red Octane hasn't made any official announcements regarding its investigation of the matter. For clarity's sake, your best bet is to look for a box with Part No. 95065. The part number is located above the ESRB rating on the back of the box. Find a detailed image of the part number location after the break. hmmm.... interesting.... guess i juz wait a bit longer for tht guitar... sad sad sad |

We have not even got shipments of Guitar Hero 2 for Xbox360 in Asia yet and now rumours are going around that Guitar Hero 3 (Xbox 360 ver included) will be release in the States in fall 2007. Go to IGN for more details. If I am not mistaken the rumours originated from Red Octane's support site.

check it out the news Guitar Hero II or it's new patch possibly bricking 360's >> Saw this on the XBOX.com forums this morning, over 100 posts from gamers complaining that GHII, or it's new patch has wrecked havoc on thier consoles, bricking some, while making other unstable. QUOTE I have tried all of the rest of my games, and GHII is the only one freezing! I cannot finish a song (haven't even finished one yet), without either the screen during all weird and freezing, or the screen going completely black (xbox still on) and being frozen. Keep in mind, that 360's, like any hardware will not last forever. Every time MS releases a dash update, we see some 360's "die" and everyone blames the update. Every time we see a particular game get an update or new maps etc, we see more consoles "die" and everyone blames the new updates.... Just got it today, played it for no more then 30 minutes with a total of 4 freeze ups. The 5th one.. red circle of death. It is now dead. What a joke. I've played GOW for hours on end, probably the longest being 7 hours straight, play GH for 30 minutes and it kills my box. ... Yeah I'd agree it obviously doesn't happen to everyone, in fact I have a few buddies that play it non-stop without issues. However having said that, there is enough evidence on this forum alone to convince me that there is an issue with it, and maybe it only shows itself on certain models of 360, built before a certain date or something... no idea. All I know is it ran great before this game, and now... well my 360 makes a nice doorstop. ... "I love my 360. It's been a dear friend of mine ever since I bought it (on launchday). I've never had any problems with it. Vel, today I decided to get my hands on Guitar Hero II for the 360... Big mistake! My 360 is now officially dead.. After playing GHII for almost 4 hours, the game froze. Not a big deal I thought. I rebooted the console, and "badabing"!... the dreadful three red lights stared at my face. NOOOOOO! Now my 360 won't even boot into the dashboard anymore. I've tried disconnectiong every cable, controller and the hard-drive, but to no use. It usually freezes seconds after I turn it on, and when I try again, the three red lights appear. Why did this have to happen?! I'm so angry right now, and surely wish I'd never bought that piece of crap Guitar Hero II! Be warned everyone... There has to something seriously wrong the 360 version GHII. Maybe older 360 consoles are having trouble with the guitar controller, and therefore screws up the entire console? I don't know. I don't know anyone who has had a problem with their GHII, or recent issues with their 360 after having started playing GHII. So, if you fear the Game or the update is the "culprit" of these 360 death's consider waiting for more info to get posted. - HSD |

I think this bricking or 3ROD that happened is just a coincidence. I've played GH2 without any issues until I got my 3ROD last Saturday while playing it, so I don't think it's the games's fault. After I fixed my 3ROD problem and I continue playing it. So far I haven't got any freezes or lock ups in this game. I've played straight 5 hrs yesterday just to make sure that my X360 is really stable after the fix.
This game is great and addictive so I think it's kind of pathetic to blame on the game when 3ROD hits your X360. AS for me, I blame it on M$ for not doing enough R&D on their X360 design that has a serious flaw. |

well, it seems that most of the issues come from the patch released recently on 14/4/2007. it should be safe if you do not download the patch but then again, who knows? i waiting for what major nelson has to say about this.

I've beaten the Easy Mode and get 5 stars on all 35 songs. Now I'm playing the Medium Mode (did 5 songs out of 48). My son had also beaten the Easy Mode and his playing the Medium Mode too and had done 30 songs of out 48 in this mode. So far there's no problem with the game or my X360.
May be to be safe, if you're really paranoid on this issue, just don't do the update patch. |

KH: We're planning a lot for our new guitars for Guitar Hero III. First of all, the one feature that fans have been asking for the most is that, yes, they're going to be wireless. So now fans can finally rock out in their living room and jump off their couches and do all the crazy rock star stuff that they haven't been able to do in the past. And then, what we're doing with the guitars is there'll be a new shape and there'll be new colours. And what we're also looking at in addition to all those features is creating some more interesting guitars that are higher end, and some of them will be made out of wood, and so they'll actually feel like a real guitar. is it just me or do i find the strum bar of the Explorer more sensitive? i can't strum as hard as i used to with the PS2 version, else i get like a "double" strum.

Well its not online but my friend and i went head to head on Strutter through voice chat and see who could get the best score, we were honest with each other and started playing. 1st round- Me 2nd round-Me 3rd round- My friend... Actually the whammy bar is not that big of a deal with mine...it works but i figured its not worth the effort to use it...im still a newb...

I found Easy to be too boring to play. After playing three tracks on easy, I switched the difficulty to medium and the game is much better for my ability.
Maybe it helps that I already play guitar... still I can't imagine what it'll be like when you have to start using the 5th button... |

Psychobilly Freakout is crazy wei, I still cannot get 5 stars on Medium. My wrist ****ing hurts already. I'm still having trouble with the Choruses. I tried strumming like usual, cannot get, strum alternately, also cannot get.
It makes me wonder how that 8 years old can do it without even looking at it. |

Not really hard. I use gpad oni and beat the easy and medium mode with all 5 stars. But cannot do it in hard mode. So far oni earned 5 stars on 4 songs in the hard mode.My fingers all really sakit one. : ) Guess have to buy the guitar lor..Like huss said, play without guitar is like having sex wif a condom..^^

Real guitar helps your picking. Thats all. Mastering the game is a whole different thing, i spent like 6 months practising everyday ok when GH1 first came out.

I just got mah GH2.
Man...its not an easy game. Need to practice...otherwise just can't press the right frets. I have this problem where I see the the frets onscreen as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...but my fingers is 2 (index), 3, 4 5 (pinky)...weird eh? Oh...and another thing. I feel like the strum button is too sensitive. I can't "flick" it...but have to hold it down. I find it easier when I use 3 fingers (at least if when I'm playing medium and hard), index on red, middle on yellow and ring on blue (but at certain situations my pinky will join in). But even now I dunno if that's the proper way to play.
I tried using normal controller just now and I find that some songs are easier with it! |

its helps if you have flexible fingers and an acute sense of rhythm. u should see my colleague fatcatlim shred it.

Me also playing this game quite often...hehe. When feel like up to a challenge, then try to get 5 stars on some of the songs that haven't got. When just want to kick back, just play some of my fave songs. Love this game. Enjoy some of the tracks too.
Somehow, when you play, and you enjoy the music, you kind of feel the need to get everything correct so the music will sound proper. |

Did anybody loose the usb cable for the guitar? It gets detached very easily even with minimal force applied to it. It's suppose to be a safety feature in the event that somebody trip on the cable, the console won't get pulled along as well. While carrying the guitar for the past two days, the cable tercicir a few times but luckily I found them when I retrace my steps

Its for all sorts of effects pedal, like Rock Band will have official Boss effects pedal replicas. I guess it should be the same for GH3 since Harmonix probably shared the idea with Red Octane before they left for MTV/EA

Finally 5-starred everything on medium. Now moving on to hard.
But, damn, some parts on hard looks impossible to react by visual alone. I'm having trouble with You Really Got Me's end wankery. I can get the first set of Pull-offs, but to pick the next one seems impossible at that speed. |

dudes...stoopid noobie question...would a Australian Pal version of Guitar HeroII work on the Asian XBox360? Im asking coz I saw one, thinking of buying, but afraid it wont work on my xbox. damn I cant wait to get one. went to djnn today but told me he has no stock..cant tahan the wait any longer lah..my hand itching for that stoopid GNR song!

Today @ Youtube ... saw an 8 year old kid playing GH2 on the song DEAD! on expert mode .. damn fraging good. He just misses 3 keys.

Use the practice feature to slow down the song abit and concentrate on parts of the songs. Have to get used to it.
