hahah.. i bought one since i already have a few. let me think of what to put inside first then i bai again

the only downside for the l-boxx is that a fully loaded box is very very heavy. about 20+kg if you load it up with spanners & hammers

even a lightly loaded box with 2 hammer drills + 6 batt packs is already almost 10kg

local ones don't

you have to import yourself

just like the l-boxx mini

but they are quite pricey

so i end up making a simple tray out of a piece of hard plastic that act as a divider cry.gif

the bulldog occupies almost the entire bottom space

and i put a smaller hammer drill (the GBH 18v-Li Compact) on top. the compact hammer drill is useful to drill at confined spaces. although pretty weak, it's better to hap something than nothing

he wasnt referring to the in-lay, but to the tote tray, which converts the l-boxx 238 into 2 x 136

Anyone experience the black and decker 18v & 20v max system?
Both system use lithium battery and the batteries for both system looks identical.
18v system usually found in UK while 20v max system in US.
I wonder the batteries are interchangable between the 2 system?
Cant google much info so far.

just marketing gimmick la. both are the same

20V sounds better than 18V rite?

same like 12V and 10.8V

both are the same, just that 12V sounds better than 10.8V

those uninformed will say, wahhh dewalt 20V worh... kalah lo your bosch/makita/milwaukee/hitachi/hilti 18v

marketing, and some law issue i guess in different countries

same battery, one tells nominal cell voltage one tells max voltage (hence 20v max)

Mostly people don't like to use some odd number like 10.8 or 11.8 or 11.5. So they just round it up to 12v.

Specially japan people. Their voltage round it up to 100v or 200v. Instead 110v or 220v.

Fully understood that the 18v & 20v are same as they both using 5 lihium cells...
The reason i ask is that i have plenty of B&D 20v max batteries that bought directly from US.
Its rarely find anyone sell the B&D 20v max system here but found some 18v system with the battery look similar.
If they are fully compatible then i can go ahead with some 18v power tool system here.

just asking, how did u import li-ion batteries from US?

i've been forced to buy solo tools (tools sans batt) since they dun allow shipping of li-ion packs

Not too sure about US export policy.
Back to few years ago, i bought a B&D handheld vacuum plus battery through a US spree service here.
Recently from ebay, an US seller actually ship the battery worldwide.
I bought and just received it.
So far i dont face any difficulty.

Dear all,

Want to buy new drill for home usage purpose. First priority right now to install ceiling fan in concrete ceiling.

Last time want to drill 6mm-8mm concrete wall using cheap impact drill, took forever bangwall.gif until give up and just borrow Bosch from friend. If not mistaken GSB 500 RE, can do the job but quite slow and need to push really hard. Based on my budget :

Option 1: BOSCH GSB 16 RE (my 1st choice until I found stanley rotary drill below)

Rated power input 701 W
No-load speed 0 - 3000 rpm
Power output 351 W
Weight 1.9 kg
Rated speed 0 - 1640 rpm
Drill spindle connecting thread 1/2"-20 UNF
Chuck capacity, min./max. 1,5 - 13 mm
Impact rate at no-load speed 0 - 48000 bpm
Drilling range
Drilling diameter in concrete 16 mm
Drilling diameter in wood 30 mm
Drilling diameter in steel 12 mm

Option 2 : Stanley STEL503K 720W 22MM Rotary Hammer (Any one had experience using this? )
Power 720W
Speed without load 0 - 980 / min (rpm)
Beats per minute 0 - 5200gpm (bpm)
Steel drilling 13mm (1/2 ")
Concrete drilling 22mm (7/8 ")
Drilling in wood 30m (1-3 / 16 ")
Impact Energy 2.0 Joules
Rotation Advance / Reverse
3 Modes Rotation, Percussion and Chiseling

Or should I just go for STANLEY STHR272K 5KG drool.gif
Power: 850W
Chuck Size: 26mm
Mode: 2
No Load Speed: 700rpm
Blows/Min: 3,400bpm
Impact Energy: 4.1 J
Variable Speed: No
Max Capacity: Concrete - 26mm
Safety Clutch: Yes
Weight: 5.1kg

Any advice ?
