Just wanna share something with you guys what had happen recently in US.

In March 2017, SBD (Stanley Black & Decker) bought Craftsman Tools from Sears.

But with an agreement that, Sears To Continue Developing, Sourcing & Selling Craftsman In All Sears Retail Channels Under Perpetual License Agreement.

So to make story, last August SBD launch new line of Craftsman power tools. With a tag of Made in the USA with global materials. It looks like a mid tier in SBD tools line.

Not bad tho.

But then early this month, Sears launch new Craftsman power tools.

Look like a China OEM tools to me.

And now there are two different design of Craftsman tools launched. Here's a side by side comparison.

New impressive Milwaukee cordless powertools line up.

More power, more torque, more new tools, more compact with just  a 18V battery.

Hi, may I know any user of GBH 180-LI here?

Currently considering to get the GSB 16 RE, but since I already have the 18V battery system, just wondering if it's worth to get the cordless one to save the hassle of cabling.

Mainly used for household work only, at most is to drill 6/8mm holes at RC beam to hang something. Will the GBH 180-LI be powerful enough for this work?

Thanks
*
I think up until 12mm no problems

i've used it up to 16mm x 4" hole bit but it does take a toll on your arm and shoulders. the vibration is badddddddd....

i like the compact size of the GBH180-Li. 1 handed and not heavy

so now i only limit it to max 6-10 mm saja. that's the sweet spot

anything bigger, i just use the heavier GBH18v-26 Bulldog which can easily double as a chisel
*
The spec mention up to 20mm. I just compare to the drill bit provided which is 12mm.

Like 2-3 weeks ago I repair a plywood door. I had to use my only circular saw. It had some hard to reach edge to cut.

Surprisingly my mini grinder perform better.

All this while, I almost forgot the mini grinder come with a blade for wood.

Guys, my cordless drill is not functioning anymore, brought to service centre and it said its due to switch / board problem, not battery. It's Bosch GSR 1000. I'm planning to DIY fix it as I don't want to fork out hundred bucks to fix it if possible.

I have tried opening it and found nothing interesting, but not sure what to look at. Any sifu here willing to help? I'll  whatsapp the photos and the videos. Hope some sifu willing to teach some newbie here

So many people got scammed by this. Too good too be true, yet greedy blind people.

Previously they market Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee set. Full 5-9 tools with 200-300. Lol. Now they go with this COD B&D. Still people got conned.

Anyone who know any nice forwarder please intro.

Just missout this 10.10 promotion in acmetools yesterday. Because don't know how to forward them.

Even without the discount tool from US still way cheaper.

I think with today facilities, we shouldn't have problems having those tools.

Hi guys, just a quick noob question. Is there any way to just hammer a nail into brickwall? Or is it a must to use a drill to drill holes and then insert wall plug and then insert the nail/screw/hook. Need to hang some stuff in and around the house.

Also, can anyone recommend what drill brand and model can be bought to do such jobs? Budget less than RM300.
*
Actually yes, you can for bricks.. there are nails for masonry. Easily insert into bricks, plaster wall. It is how contractors do formwork etc. They nails formworks directly into masonry walls.

Problem is with sand bricks and concrete.

So which is OK brand and which is atas brand? Haha

If I were to get Bosch, which model is recommended for simple drilling into walls to insert screws/hooks? Not really getting the difference between the GSB and GBM range. And what's the difference between a GSB 10 RE and a GSB 500 RE? Bosch website doesn't have anymore info on the 500 RE but there is a hardware store near my place selling it.
*
In the West, three main brand always Bosch, Dewalt, Milwaukee.
I think these are the okay brand. Unfortunately I think Dewalt and Milwaukee don't really target Asean as market.

Under Stanley Black & Decker Company (SBD) you have
Dewalt > Stanley > B&D. Since Stanley power tools are rebrand of Porter Cable, I think they are on par with Bosch.

Another popular choice for local here is Makita, Hitachi, Worx etc. Atas brand you can try Hilti, their after-sales service damn good. Can pickup tools for servicing.

GSB 10 = 10mm max bits.
GSB 500 = 500 watts.
But I dont find any different between these two.

Have no idea what diff with GBM vs GSB
