tried it already , does not seem to work ... going to drop the phone off @ those phone stalls. Seems they know about the problem, so i guess they they know how to repair it .... worse case scenario, i buy another wan ,good phone mah so worth it to buy another wan .

You're using an AP set, ar? If you don't mind, you can bring it to those authorised SE service centres, they'll probably charge you more for the service but then, it's still cheaper than getting a brand new one, isn't it? I guess it's a much more complicated matter. Better not to take a risk to fix it outside. Just my 2 cents.

BBS is definitely an AP company. smile.gif
Go and change it to exercise your right as a consumer and they can be sued by giving a misleading information to the customers. smile.gif
*
Fruitie is giving a legal advice here so you should better listen to her, otherwise you'll rugi, pay Ori price but get an AP phone. You can lodge a complaint with KPDN already to be honest.

What's the current price for M2 2GB, I can see that Renee is selling the Sandisk one for RM263? How about other sellers or Plaza Low Yat? Can get a better price than that? RM263 is a bit steep for 2GB. Of course, I can wait lah, I still 300 mb of free space left from my M2 1GB. sweat.gif I have installed over 60 Java games in my phone. It's better than carrying a PSP sometimes. nod.gif

i have some problem in the middle of the video on high resolution one... sad.gif

2gb eh? good for you  laugh.gif  too bad k800i only supported up to 2gb only...imaging if its can extends up to 8gb...huhuhuhu
*
Well, the M2 is not limited to 2GB actually, the M2 4GB version will be out end of this year according to Sony and W880i is able to support it so that means K800i might or might not be able to support it. We wouldn't know until it is out but for, I guess 2GB is more than enough for now. No point having a memory card costing half the price our phone, right? sweat.gif

QUOTE(kelvin9986 @ Mar 27 2007, 05:26 PM)
30fps k800i cant play leh sweat.gif
*
It can run on 30 fps, use Apollo dvd to iPod converter, I have attached screenshots of the videos running at 30 fps on my K800i, K610i and P990i but unfortunately, the was the previous V5 thread. If you check the technical specs, all the current SE phones can run at 30 fps but you need to have the correct settings, bitrates and compression format in order to work. It's not too complicated if you're using the Apollo software.

Yalor, after buy the phone then only ask whether got megabass or not. Always check the specs before buying a phone.

QUOTE(@nn@nn @ Mar 28 2007, 11:25 PM)
is there any diff between sandisk and sony(memory card)
sandisk cheaper le..i ordered brown wan...no stock yet..haihz..
*
Ehh ...... I thought it should the same since Sony invented the M2 format, takkan, Sandisk can perform better than Sony's own baby meh? Do you have benchmarking tools to verify this? If not mistaken, both should be offering the same performance but Sandisk is still cheaper no matter what.

I also dunno ler ......... like my P990i, it came with Sandisk MSPD, my K618i and K610i came with Sony M2. Hahaha. Seems to me like abang and adik here. Yup, maybe just taruh the brand and sell it to the consumers. doh.gif

Sandisk introduces 4GB M2 for Sony Ericsson Mobile Phones rclxm9.gif

http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/SanDisk-intro...ss-Release.html

Yippeeeee .......... it's proven now that the M2 format can go beyond 2GB. Gosh ...... should I get a 2GB one or the 4GB one. The 4GB will be rolling out in May, in OEM form. hmm.gif Not sure about the pricing though. Hopefully it is around USD129.90, the same price as the newly announced 4GB micro SD (SDHC) for use in LG's latest mobile phones. If it's less than RM480, it's still okay. Don't mind getting a bigger one, can taruh more Java games / apps, mp3s, videos, etc.

Try to free up your phone memory, move everything to your M2 instead.

the phone hangs whenever i try to press a button, even after a soft reset (take battery out). send to SE and they said might have been memory overload or something and need to reflash.

QUOTE(Andrewhajime @ Mar 30 2007, 05:18 PM)
you sure or not ?
few of our forumer already using 2gb worrrr
may be need to use the latest firmware i guess
*
No lah, new firmware not needed b'coz K800i can support 2GB straight from the box, as for 4GB one, that one not confirm yet but normally it should be able to whether via firmware updates or the M2 is standardized as such that all SE products can support it regardless the size of the M2

QUOTE(Chung_Sik @ Mar 30 2007, 07:00 PM)
hello fellow k800 owner...got a problem here. not sure whether it has been brought up before or not but, has anyone here using Windows Vista been able to connect ur phone to the pc using data cable? becoz it seems that the pc suit can only be supported by windows XP =.='
*
I have tried it on Vista Premium, yeah, confirmed can't work, not only that, even my Nokia pc suite also dun work. Hahaha. Charm ....... luckily I had two HDD in my rig so I'm using Win XP again. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(nismo91 @ Mar 30 2007, 11:20 PM)
i think its possible. i also use 2gb M2 in my K800 (the first page info is wrong) and i think it operate smoothly. just to remind that sony havent even create a 2GB M2... but instead it let SanDisk create 4GB....
i just wonder i buy 2GB at RM300, then the 4GB will be 500?
*
Well, from what I know, Sandisk and Sony co-developed the M2 format so it seems like Sandisk has the technical know how to make the M2. The 2GB M2 is now RM250 and the price will be dropping fast so I'm holding my purchase first since PC Fair is coming. brows.gif

QUOTE(andy_mc_d @ Mar 30 2007, 11:36 PM)
as far as i know k800i can support external memory up to 2gb but not sure lah either its can support 4gb....maybe k810 can...
*
Officially, W880i can support it, it was mentioned it its brochure published in the UK. I believe all latest models can support it but for existing K800i users, no need to worry, test first before buying it lor, if it is not supported then dun buy lor.

i need to unlock keypad then only can answer incoming call..
not like nokia, can answer call without unlock keypad,
any solution?
*
No need wor, I just hit the call button to answer the call even if my phone's keypad is locked. Try again and see.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Mar 31 2007, 11:07 PM)
to those who've bought the sandisk M2 2GB for around RM250++.

can you all see if your packaging has the sandisk holographic sticker?
someone told me that those without holographic sticker, are direct from the factory in shah alam, and sandisk will not entertain warranty on those.
*
The hologram sticker is on the packaging or on the M2 card itself?

if u want a better video recording,just go for n93 tongue.gif
video call also sucks?
i really didn't try before, but once i open the backside camera
fuiyoo...so clear, but dun know my fren see it clear or not
*
Yeah, the video recording sucks for K800i. Either get N93i, N95i or just a normal digital camera, they will shoot VGA video at 30 fps with ease. I hope one day, it allows us to shoot videos and take photos in widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio with our mobile phones so that we can view them on our HDTV display. rclxms.gif

It supports .wmv but only 320 X 240 resolution and the video codec must be WMV 8 and below, the bitrate must be below 300 kbps. The latest WMV codecs are not supported though. cry.gif

QUOTE(inferno75 @ Apr 5 2007, 07:35 AM)
thats weird... copied from the 1st page and it mentioned that K800 supports .wmv too...  icon_question.gif

Video formats:
MP4 (video: MPEG4, audio: AAC or AMR)
3GPP(tm) (video: MPEG4 or H.263, H.264, audio:
AAC or AMR)
Real Video 8
WMV

sigh, my hopes of watching some videos were dashed!!

that is the question i asked 1 week ago but no one confirm yet.

but basically a shop told me the sandisk cards without hologram sticker on the box, is all from a factory in shah alam.
i ask price of 2gb sandisk with hologram, he quote RM330 or so.
he said the 2gb sandisk being sold for RM250+ for sure got no hologram sticker, i got no time to go check yet.
*
For the hologram sticker, does it really matter b'coz if I'm not mistaken, there are no fake M2 cards yet, am I right? I was offered RM240 for a Sandisk 2GB M2 but I didn't buy it as I know that the price will keep on dropping. Hopefully, it will be below RM100 by year end as Corsair's 2GB SD Card is only RM70. How nice if we can buy M2 at that price.

QUOTE(foohoa @ Apr 9 2007, 08:17 AM)
Hi guys, i am the new user for k800i, Did u all encounter the battery life very short?? and the battery hot??
*
Battery life is acceptable and yes, the battery becomes hot after 20-30 mins, that's normal I guess. All my SE phones showed the same symptoms. Hopefully it doesn't explode like those Dell notebooks powered by batteries made by Sony

QUOTE(FarEasy @ Apr 9 2007, 10:08 AM)
yesterday go to lowyat..just tell my problem to sony ericsson guy..that guy tell me,want to check first..k800 so expensive..mayb kene charge RM 400++..
hukhuk...very expensive la... if software problem, how much ya?
my phone cannot start la...  cry.gif
*
Shouldn't be that expensive la, try asking somewhere. If RM400 plus, almost can buy half a K800i liao (AP set). Crazy meh?

This happen after I format my pc. Before this, it works fine. No problem having read the M2. After format the pc, n the problem start. Dont know what happen. Help me  sad.gif
*
Try checking if there are any conflicts with your pc's USB ports for a start. If not, try using a card reader to read your M2 to see if it works or not.

QUOTE(Carmen @ Apr 14 2007, 01:41 AM)
wow! today i called up SE service centre to ask them about the charges of changing the joystick.

it is really RM26 for the joystick but the workmanship alone cost RM45. that's a total of RM71.

im still thinking of whether to change it or not cos it's quite expensive. what do u guys think?
*
Well, that's the same price actually paid to repair my brother's K750i. I guess you should only change it if the joystick is 100% broken or malfunction.

QUOTE(Andrewhajime @ Apr 14 2007, 02:42 AM)
your hand is shakey ...show that your health is no good ..... biggrin.gif
when you know ur hand is shakey ... then multitasking ...
one hand take pic and one hand hold phone
the joystick is so common in SE  K model edition
any SE with Joystick sure got problem
they never able to fix it
and dont even care to change it to keypad
*
Well, SE do have models with d-pad like K618i, K610i, etc.

guys, not sure about this but doesn't 2gb lag? coz the shop selling 2gb sandisk M2 says that it'll lag badly with 2gb and even probably crash. can any1 deny or confirm it?
*
I think the shop don't have M2 2GB, that's why created a story to confuse you. rclxub.gif Honestly, whether it's 2GB or 4GB, the rated reading and writing speed should be consistent so it shouldn't lag at all.
