Sony Ericsson introduce new lifestyle of imaging communication with first Cyber-shot(tm) phones - K800 and K790 camera phones

Sony Ericsson takes digital imaging in camera phones to new heights today with the launch of the K800 and K790 phones, the first handsets to carry the Cyber-shot(tm) brand, a true mark of imaging quality. Both are highly capable mobile phones with integrated 3.2 Megapixel digital cameras with Autofocus, Xenon flash and BestPic(tm) - Sony Ericsson's unique imaging technology that allows you to capture exactly the moment you desire. K800 and K790 combine advanced image capture capabilities with high speed data transfer, making them perfect tools for shooting and sharing high quality pictures and videos. K800 is a dual-mode UMTS/GPRS phone and the K790 is a Tri Band EDGE phone. Both are available from Q2 2006.

The handsets have a classic Sony Ericsson design, with a large screen and responsive, tactile keypad with a sleek and stylish dual front phone design. Turn the phones horizontally and there you have a digital still camera. Simply slide the active lens cover downwards and a user interface similar to that of a Cyber-shot(tm) camera automatically appears.

A completely new feature developed by Sony Ericsson is BestPic(tm), which ensures that you never 'miss' an important picture. Press the shutter button once and get 9 full quality 3.2 megapixel pictures to choose from in a time sequence - 4 pictures before and 4 pictures after the actual image you captured. All 9 pictures are displayed as icons on the display. Simply scroll backwards and forwards through the 9 images and save the ones you like best.

The K800 and K790 offer full support for a complete digital imaging lifestyle. Printing is possible without the need for a PC thanks to PictBridge(tm), a feature that transfers pictures directly to a printer by using a USB cable. Storing and managing image files on your PC are made easy with the supplied Adobe software, and the phones are among the first to feature fully integrated Picture Blogging Blogging is growing exponentially as a way of sharing personal experiences with words and images, and Picture Blogging in K800 and K790 allows users to create and update personal blogs directly from the phone in just a few clicks.

Business users will find the K800 and K790 valuable work tools while out of the office and the sleek Velvet Black casing fits neatly with the professional image. Full HTML browsing with RSS feeds and Google Search give you high-speed, graphic-rich Internet use. Support for standard push email and a connectivity suite comprising Bluetooth(R) 2.0, USB 2.0 and Memory Stick Micro(tm) (M2(tm)) means that keeping in touch is effortless. A complete entertainment package including music player, 3D gaming and an RDS FM radio are also provided for business downtime or relaxation.

The Sony Ericsson K800 is a dual-mode UMTS handset while K790 is a Tri Band EDGE handset. Both products will be commercially available in Velvet Black and start shipping globally during Q2 2006. The variants in the market will be:

I'm using HPM-82 and so far very satisfied with it.
IMO, get the HPM-82 if you want the remote control(for convience).
The earphone has good bass, and is clear. Filters outside noise partially.
There are a few ppl selling HPM-82. Try looking for them.

i see few of my friends use other earphone by connecting to a converter
our hp to audio jack then use any powerful earphone
just that hpm-82 has a remote control for convience

hey congrats v6. that's sure very fast. i'm still waiting for the price to enter free fall bcos k810 is coming out soon (heard from my dealer in mid april and price is about RM1800 - RM2k ori). currently, k800 ori is still btw RM1.6k - 1.7k with FOC bt PV705 until 31 Mac. I'm expecting it fall to RM1.2k ori by end april. Must press my tahan button...now. any update on price wud be welcome...

Do u guys (k800) owner feel that the speaker is too soft? Yesterday try out my frenz k800, the song play using the speaker is soft and when it goes max, it feel blak blak sound. Its tat how the quality of k800 speaker or my frenz 1 got problem?

Yes, k800 good in everything, just the speaker slightly lousier, even compared with w800, k750.. when u put ur ear near to w800/k750 speaker when the phone is playback, u will hear some light bass and woofer sound in it, but for k800, nothing, just treble...

Yeah, good phone indeed.. If u dont mind the speaker, the it would be almost perfect for among all SEs

when the SE service centre can`t fix it .. something is wrong well i went another shop outside , seems the fella knows about the k800i problem .. gonna go there to see

i did , even the lady manning the counter explained about a firmware problem .dunno why they couldn`t repair.written on the job sheet there "Beyond economical repair"(i think ) which leads me to think that , the problem maybe be rapirable, but @ a high cost

beyond economical repair? hmmm... reflashing the firmware would cost near to nothing. perhaps they thought it was due to an electronic failure. or maybe they just don't know how to repair it and i believe they would suggest you to change the entire motherboard of the k800i to solve the problem.

anyway, back to the problem. it's not just a matter of reflashing i think. what needs to be done is for the K800i's erom or 'bios' to be reflashed. someone posted a solution to this on Esato forum, you should check it out. this might solve your problem.

tried it already , does not seem to work ... going to drop the phone off @ those phone stalls. Seems they know about the problem, so i guess they they know how to repair it .... worse case scenario, i buy another wan ,good phone mah so worth it to buy another wan .

You're using an AP set, ar? If you don't mind, you can bring it to those authorised SE service centres, they'll probably charge you more for the service but then, it's still cheaper than getting a brand new one, isn't it? I guess it's a much more complicated matter. Better not to take a risk to fix it outside. Just my 2 cents.

Hmm, i'm only filling 700mb right now, cuz i lost my HPM70 (from W550i) then just today i buy a new in-ear headset. I'll try to fill much content anymore. It doesn;t lag at all currently

what i like from my K800 (and most SE new phones) is that i.e. now i have 15 multiplayer bluetooth games which i usually distribute to my classmate and when there's a time we played together some of the games.
its very exciting as the majority of my classmate use SE.
