right now using Archer AX73 for unifi 500mbps
can Deco X90 connect to modem using mesh?
because X90 only got 2 pack
or buy Deco X68/X60 got 3 pack

1 mesh connect to modem router, another deco mesh 1st & 2nd floor house

For business reasons, archer series cannot work seamlessly with deco series

You can only hardwire deco to optical modem or router(ap mode), you cannot connect via wireless/mesh

Hi guys,

I am planning to change a AX router, currently still using the router from TM(since 2015 or 2016). Went to computer shop, was suggested to get AX50 or AX73. I was actually thinking on AX23,but the seller told me that if devices are more than 5,maybe 7-10 performance wise will be affected alot. Thats why he suggested at least go for a AX50. Any suggestions here?

Also I also saw some posting saying that AX50 has overheat issue?anyone can clarify this?

I am using Unifi 300mbps. I do not have any wifi 6 atm. I am actually aiming to get 100-200mbps for 2.4ghz in the whole house.
*
Unrealistic expectations, 2.4ghz hard to achieve this

Avoid ax50, there is newer model now available called ax55 with better processor

If you don't plan to buy newer devices with wifi 6, then you can get deco hc4 2 pack

AX50: runs very hot, already EOL because inhell bailed out of home router market

AX55 : IPQ0518 dual core a53, cooler, 4 streams (2+2)
AX72: same IPQ0518, 6 streams (2+4)
AX73: BCM 6750, 3 cores cortex a7, 6 streams (2+4)

Choose one of these depending on your budget, if your budget around rm300, AX55 is great
While AX72 and AX73 trade blows each other, overall is almost same

does tp link have easymesh products? just got my maxis fibre router and stated easymesh.

Easymesh better than Deco mesh? Or the same item?

Staying in 2 storey house. Dont think current router from Maxis can cover the house.

Thanks for the advise!!
*
Easymesh is open standard but for now still rare in branded routers

For now none of tp link routers support easymesh

anyone using the latest 2022 DECO X50 (not to be confused with archer)

the new model can use IPTV vlan 600 (for white color unifi box) for second deco, however no matter which port configured and connected, the white color box will fail to connect to IPTV (even though already double check the same correct IPTV username/password in the box)

is this issue going to be fixed by firmware update? or something misconfigured?

Hello everyone, I have recently upgraded my Maxis Home Fibre to the 300mbps plan which comes with the new Maxis EasyMesh WiFi 6 router (model AR2140). I already had an existing TP-LINK Deco X20 device (1 unit only) and I am facing difficulties pairing it wirelessly to the Maxis AR2140 router as it could not recognize the Maxis AR2140 router as the main device. I had to connect it with ethernet cable to the Maxis AR2140 router for the Deco X20 to work. Is anyone here facing the same issue as well? How should I set it up? Thanks in advance~
*
Easymesh does not work together with proprietary system like deco. Just buy another deco to pair with your existing deco

QUOTE(Dark Panda @ Jul 29 2022, 04:07 PM)
Hi all sifus.

Currently I am using 2 units of Deco E4 in a 2000sqft double storey house.
One node connected to the router at living hall and another node placed in the master bedroom located right above the living hall.
But I do experience intermittent disconnection and sometime wifi speed drop. So it's quite annoying.
I tried to place the 2nd node at different place including nearby the staircase in upper floor but it more or less the same. So I am not sure is it because the coverage of E4 is too low, so it is not suitable for my house layout. Since my staircase got a solid wall not those open concept staircase.

So here is my question:
1) Can I pair up Deco E4 with either Deco M4, M5, X20, X50?
2) If yes. Theoretically speaking, since M4, M5, X20, X50 got wider coverage, if I use it as the main node, would it help to improve the connection, so the 2nd node can get a much more better connection from the main node?
3) If no. Then would you recommend the pairing of AX73 + Onemesh extender or 2 units of X50 (Which I set it as router mode). Since both option more or less cost around the same.
*
1. Yes
2. One more deco might do. Get m5 as main mesh will be slightly better, pair together with both your e4 as child node
3. 2 units of X50 will be better than router+extender combo

you keep using the word "paired", "connected" in your posts, which is a very vague answer as the subject being talked about are router and mesh nodes.

so i will ask again. the current wifi 5 router and Deco are connected to each other. but connected using what? wireless airwave? LAN cable?

rubber band?

check with tm. ok. only wifi 6 got issue with android tv
*
yes you can replace original wifi 5 tm router with wifi 6 tm router

so same setup, wifi 6 tm router hard wire (LAN) with deco m4 mesh system. I recommend deco m4 stay under AP mode (not router mode as defaulted by tp link), and turn off wifi 6 radio in tm router. new tm router although still cap ayam can still be kinda capable of LAN routing

new tm wifi 6 router will be either of these
dlink 1860z (rebadge netis/ netcore n6t)
zyxel 3220 (unknown spec)

Hi guys, want to ask those who are using the deco m4. Does it have a built in firewall or spi firewall?

I'm asking this because I've placed an order for the m4 to setup mesh and also replacing an aging 10yo Asus rt68u router.
*
M4r does support SPI / NAT based firewall but it is very basic, not configurable and only works under router mode

What is the difference between deco x50 and x60?

I’m using time Fibre with 500Mbps plan, in a 3000sqft condo so I plan to have a couple of nodes around the house.

Are those 2 suitable for my needs? I’m open to suggestions of other models as well.
*
X50: 3 gbe ethernet ports per unit, 160mhz, dual antenna 5ghz

X60: 4x4 quad antenna 5ghz, 80mhz only, 2 gbe ports only

Thanks for the reply. I’m not too concerned on the Ethernet ports, but all these antennas and stuff, how much does it matter for normal usage (phones, normal laptop browsing)? Does X60 have wider coverage or something?
*
Yes, X60 will have slightly wider range due to more antennas

I was just looking for a cheap router with a gigabit port to be honest, since my actual Wi-Fi will be from the mesh. I think from Shopee I found one that’s just RM125.

Im open to other models too actually if you have suggestions

Get at least Archer C6/A6 v4 then

Dear tplink support,

I plan to use Deco mesh from tplink and i also plan to use switch for LAN connection. Which switch is best for home use? I am looking at 8 port or 16 port max.

Thank you.

Hi TP Link Malaysia. I got the new XE75. Can I add on 1 pack of X68 to extend the coverage? If yes can use wireless backhaul?
*
Both are from deco? Then sure u can

But note that the wireless backhaul will be using the 5ghz band only though

So looks like the Maxis Koan router is crappy. I have deco M5 and 9. I wish to upgrade the main router from Maxis that was given free to TP link. Which model should I go for? And I would then like to use the Maxis Koan router as a node to the TP-Link wifi 6 router. Can this work?
*
Deco X50 and X68 should be the nice upgrade over both discontinued M models

Kaon is total crap. Just sell it

QUOTE(Lucas @ Oct 15 2023, 09:17 PM)
just got my unifi package to 500 mbps.

My house is a double storey terrace house. TM gave the stock Fiberhome mesh router, The main router is at upstairs with beside the modem, and the second router (mesh) is downstairs.

Upstairs rooms can get 300 Mbps - 500 Mbps

Downstairs living room, when connected to fiberhome mesh (downstairs) can only max get 250 Mbps.

Would like to get opinions to improve and so that i can get downstairs living room 500Mbps (other location downstairs not prioirity) , should i get:

1. XE75 deco 2 packs

2. Archer Ax73 (upstairs) and downstairs to use RE705X

Thanks
*
Get XE75 twin combo, always better than nerfed router+repeater combo

Hey guys, just want to ask if it is possible to link my Deco M5 to the D-Link AX3000 provided by TM?

Extender maybe?

My line is shared to my mother's unit next door. We are living in a condo.
*
my suggestion is just sell off what tm given and go all in to deco

and btw deco m5 can be used for backup also, because wifi 5 model, max can 500 mbps only

so its time to go for at least deco X50 starter kit (1 unit is around rm370 and 2 units just under rm800) for a great starting experience of deco whole home system

you mean pull the cable from router to upper floor..?
mission impossible. no hole for me to poke on the ceiling.
cable pull out from the front shop then crawl up upper floor macam tarak boleh...

that's mean i still cant get full mbps?
*
Maybe you can do some research on "invisible" fiber optic as alternative to wired lan backhaul

Need to buy from maybe aliexpress/taobao, fiber optic converter a pair and some sizeable length of "invisible" fiber optic cable

Otherwise, tri band mesh is the only other viable option (deco XE75 is good option)

Why  whistling.gif  whistling.gif ?

If u compare with other Deco X series, In real life Deco M9 Plus will give higher speed due to 3 band channel.
Even Deco X20 also no three band & will give real life lower speed.

I just need to know the issue why I cant get more than 600mbps (modem to router)? or old modem?
*
want 800mbps wirelessly MUST upgrade to WIFI 6 ax on both router and devices (phone/pc)

m9plus is too old (late 2018 release) now got replacement called XE75 with 2.4ghz,5ghz and 6ghz truly tri band. try it
