The point is that they never give u 1 year and 2 weeks warranty, they gv u 1 year warranty only
Clear? Check and show me if there is anywhere stated that customer will enjoy 1 year and two weeks warranty

It is more than one year. I bought at 5th May, 2017 and registered it on the 2nd day but the warranty expiration show 28th May, 2018.

they made changes without our knowledge.

From 4/5/2017 to 17/5/2018 and now its cut short to 29/4/2017 to 12/5/2018.

Mine still showing 28th May, 2018. I think Samsung is simply random extended 2 weeks of the warranty. Those pre-order get adjust I had no comment.

I bought at 5th May, 2017 and my warranty is ended on 28th May, 2018. I am happy with it. biggrin.gif

seems like S8/+ has quite a few hardware issues, dont know its because of the unoptimized software between the OS and apps or memang hardware problem..

These are the prevalent issues so far (can be seen on reddit and xda of many users complaining about it):
1) S8/+ glass (front and back) very easy to pick up scratches compared to previous generations.
2) S8/+ fingerprint sensor also gets scratched easily (not glass)
3) S8/+ red-tint displays
4) S8/+ camera's OIS gets stuck quite often, have to shake the phone quite roughly in order to "unstuck" it.
5) S8/+ LED dying out of a sudden issue
6) S8/+ random sounds cuts from the speakers
7) S8/+ randomly rebooting.
8) S8/+ random vibrations after unlocking the phone via hard-pressing home button. (like it doesnt register immediately when you're pressing the home button to unlock, so the vibration comes later after u unlock the phone and touch anywhere on the screen)

then there's a plethora of software bugs between the OS and certain apps.
1) edge lighting not working with certain apps
2) facebook zooming in/out the wallpaper when exit the app
3) whatsapp LED notifications not working sometimes
4) whatsapp images received when open it, its zoomed a little.

  • Gorilla Glass 5.0 - what to expect? It is the worst scratch resistance by Gorilla. This is already an issue when Samsung releasing Note 7.
  • This is like that since Samsung Galaxy Note5 time and Samsung never care or improved it.
  • I think only happen to pre-order user, now seems all is ok already.
  • This is happen before but I forgot which phone already. Don't wipe too hard to prevent it. Also don't drop or hit the phone. I believe this is hardware limitation and can't be solved by software.
  • Probably new rare case
  • I believe is software issue, this happen in iPhone 7 Plus earlier firmware also.
  • So far I never face it & very stable, I can said the most stable Samsung phone ever release as Samsung always had habit new release phone keep auto reboot but not the case for my S8+, touch wood. smile.gif

my opinion...

1. GG5, impact resistance high but low ability to stand on scratch.
2. finger print cover is not made of glass...it is plastic IMO... if had glass, do you think samsung will put there???the finger print holy grail still not yet finish improve/optimize.... it becomes Achilles heel for S8/samsung phone if design like this...
3. Dunno why it happen either they cut cost/sampling checking or others...
4. this one not sure as we not sure which one cam module either sony or samsung isocell(IMO got 2 version) so need to which prone to stuck...either samsung or sony...
5. maybe bug/software
6. this also dunno either hardware or software
7. maybe bug also

mine, some ok, screen not so ok, and today suddenly the phone suddenly lost signal for both...restart ok... maybe hang during line transferring between telecommunication tower?

These are not just problems taken/reported by people here at LYN, its reported on reddit and xda where there are few threads on the same issue with multiple users reporting of having those problems as well. and i've seen a few LYN users having the same issues as well, so im just listing them down here..

as for me, i dont face any of the hardware issue I mentioned except #8, when hard-pressing the home button. Sometimes when hard pressing home button, it will vibrate as usual, then when the screen wakes up and you touch any part of the screen it will vibrate like you pressing the home button, even if you set all vibrations off..

I believe No. 8 is due to design nature. It is same as iPhone 7 Plus which no where to disable the home button vibration. I am fine with it. I didn't really notice it delay or not. I only know the iris is some how crap than fingerprint. I don't like the way unlocked the phone using iris. So now I 99% swipe the pattern to unlocked the phone when phone on desk.

Please next mobile the fingerprint sensor can success integrate inside the screen.

Ya seen few (very few) report those issue but I myself didn't face it also except I do seen my friend pre-order unit had a very bad spot red tint issue. It is not wide spread means I concluded it as rare case.

For those of you who are having really weird issues like audio cutting off or led issues, have you tried hard reset? Unless you have a hardware issue like the guy in the video where shaking would make the audio cut off, I really don't see it as a hardware problem.

Scratches on screen are normal and users should take their own precautions if they want to use it naked. Why blame the glass? I'm using it naked still but will put on a case for better gaming soon, but my screen will be naked. Will report on this couple of months down the road.

There are only two real hardware issues that many can replicate. One is red/blue tint... and the other was the camera getting stuck which can be solved with shaking (my cousin unit, and that started happening when he had a minor drop with a case).

I game a lot everyday and I never experience sound cutting off. Which game do you play when it happened? Does it only affect certain games or all of the games you had?

I am very thankful that my S8+ don't have all mentioned issue.

Those having issue like sound missing, probably as andrekua2 mentioned, factory reset it and don't load any apps and see hows the result. Maybe it is cause by apps also. Later slowly load one by one to see who is the culprit.

Like for example last time my phone will not able to received call if I open Shazam or SoundHound. This happen in my iPhone 7 Plus until latest 10.3.1 just solved it. Sorry I keep compare with iPhone because that is my last phone.

At least the issue u face, can be fixed with software update. *IF* Samsung bother to fix it. They are known company for reported issues going into black holes.
Many hardware issue in the list cannot be fixed by updates like the OIS stuck issue.

One other issue i think is that fingerprint sensor not responding. Dont know its software or hardware issue
