Don't think there's a way to differentiate. But you can try to use this app to check the status. It will tell you if your unit is refurbished.

that one i have no idea, i dont think you can differentiate unless you are the technician working in Samsung SC. Doubt front desk staffs even know as well as they just pick a box from storage..

Just check your new phone after done exchange.

wonder if that app would still be useful if its Samsung themselves configuring it?
I would think Samsung have the tools to reset everything right hmm

Well, if that's the case, then God bless those who opt for 1 to 1 exchange from Service Centre. Although we don't have the exact figure of how much of rejected units out there, for sure Samsung won't just dump those units into nowehere. I remember I did mention this doubt in thread v2 or v3. For those red tint units, probably they would just fix it by software and then put them back into the box. The outlook sure will look like brand new. That's why I said there's no way to differentiate. heck, even those who bought from Samsung store right now could be also receiving the rejected units. Who knows right?

So my suggestion to those owners who plan to go for 1 to 1 exhange, all you need to do is check the phone carefully. The screen, the body. Make sure there's no defects before you leave. As for refurbished or not, you won't be able to tell and you probably will never know the truth. So don't be bother to worry about it, because it's all up to Samsung and that's not something you can control. Just make sure the one you received is in good condition. That's the only thing you should care about.

true enough, just be glad that at least you're getting a non red-tint phone already.

As long as the physical condition of the phone is good, then dont have to think too much whether the phone is virgin or not.. Better than Samsung not even bothering to offer 1 to 1 exchange and to just ask owners to fix it via software tweaks..

Warranty period 29/4/2017 to 12/05/2018..

Original SMS was 4/5/2017 to 17/5/2018

I think u can check ur fon is new ir not under setfing. About phone. N status. Just check for the up time. If the counter really start from zero. Or while turn on a few second pass. Then its new.

anyone experience that fingerprint not respond sometimes to unlock? even try all fingerprint there is no response and even slide the scanner didn't do anything....

i use iris and fingerprint and sometime the fingerprint not giving respond and then need to use iris or type password to unlock. after unlock and lock again, fingerprint ok back....

the occurrence are random... not sure why...

need to bring my phone to center as the screen not nice(almost half side different contrast-like dim little bit) and this random unresponsive fingerprint scanner...off course after icon x promo finish...) hope can get 1-1 exchange due to hard to repair or some good reasons for them to giving 1-1....

doesnt happen all the time, but sometimes after u hard press home button and unlock the phone, then you tap anywhere on screen once it will vibrate like you pressing home button..
