Red tint and GPS issue.
Technicians doesn't know how to fix the GPS issue so he said might as well 1 to 1.

My lover S8+ dropped from 2nd floor (house). Thank god no screen pecah or scratch. Just suddenly i realized my whatsap, any apps i open become so lag & selow...

Then i restarted my S8+, and everything becomes back to normal. Hurm....

I have insider info that most of the S8 or S8+ the SC have are "refurbished" units. They will check the phone for any problems, then do some software fixes, if still not solved then only they change the problematic hardware component.

Once changed hardware, they will do the necessary checks like water test, etc.. If all pass as well, then they will repackage the phone. Im guessing this means putting on new stickers for front screen and back glass of the phone and also sealing back the box with new tamper-proof stickers.

But this "refurbish" is not as bad like iPhone refurbish unit you get because most or basically all the S8/S8+ sets are still very brand new, and the volume of people coming in to exchange is quite a lot.

So no way to truly 100% tell if your phone is "refurbished" or brand new from factory as the tamper seals on the box and plastic films on the phones can be replaced..

Just think for a moment, how and why you think different phones when unboxed have different values set in them in the *#15987# function then?

my 3 week old S8+ admitted to service center liao. 

The phone suddenly is unable to connect to the telco network to make/receive calls - everything else works fine, wifi, gps, apps, no red tint issue.

Initially thought was a faulty SIM card, so got it replaced by DiGi, but the same issue persists.

Brought to the service center, they checked and confirm its a hardware fault. The manager offered a 1-1 device replacement under warranty.

When drop 2.5k?

Well, initially they were reluctant for an exchange, saying it can be fixed and estimated to take around 2 weeks. I did not agree and had to talk nicely to them and negotiate.

In the service center, I observed there are also a number of s8 users with various other issues.

This experience opens up the perspective and possibility to me that the new phone sold by certain resellers with an attractive low price below Samsung's RRP could be refurbished units which was returned.

My phone condition is flawless and can easily passed off as a new set once its repackaged.

Well I did see one brave soul posting his S8+ for 4,199 or something like that in the beginning, but he was rightly ridiculed, ha ha...

Actually what is the meaning of seal box? I bought mine from Lazada, the box itself is not seal by any plastic warp.. Only the box has a seal sticker..
