QUOTE(Pucca @ Jan 10 2009, 10:16 PM)
with CRS, what would be the suitable light and how do you count the wattage?
*
if u want it looks white white. 10K light is advise, a lowtech planted tank is better. cos in crs tank, its not advise to dose alot fert. normally we still put 1W per Liter. u can lower it abit but not to much cos ur plantes still need the light.

what do u mean by "lowtech planted tank"? i'm quite newbie bout the terms..

anyway, last time i put 2 mini puffer into my tank to get rid snails and they did very good jobs since i can't see any single snails anymore.. rclxms.gif ..then, i'm trying to feed them with frozen bloodworms but this guys refused to eat..any idea how to handle this?  sad.gif
*
low-tech as fern, java moss, nana, fissident n etc..those do not require high light. fert n Co2.
those stem plants need strong light, fert n co2, not advise for crs tank

mini puffer is commend like that. very difficult to to change them.. end up bye bye

just happend like that ? add anything new to the tank or maybe poison by someone ? last time my tank also got like this. after checking the cctv, it turns out that one of my stupid nephew pour milo into the tank .. all plant, fish , crs died ..
lowtech is low tech lor .. no high light, no pressurize co2 or at very low bps , etc ...
last time i got buy rm90 worth of nana petite and throw it the next day becuase it doesnt match the scape .. sweat.gif regret sial .... cry.gif  cry.gif

oho .. crs tank no need high light ? so glosso and hc out of the question ? you got any website or something about CRS tanks ?
one only edi 500 .. if 4 ?  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
WAW lao!! RM90 mini nana u dump it ah??? tell me mah, my house got dustbin... kakkaka.. how mnay u buy for RM90..
crs tank do no need very high light. but don't forget crs tank with plants too. so strong like is always welcome. glosso do not need strong light like HC. HC need strong light plus cold water.

hehhehe crs forum got but in chinese tongue.gif i don't really go google for crs. cos there is a ground of sifu sitting there for me hahahhah...pinchboyz is good in crs too.. he got alot goodie..

*
no, wouldn't harm the crs, but make sure ur tank is in balance. if not algea attack then hehehhe..

QUOTE(frankzane @ Jan 13 2009, 11:58 PM)
yes, running and in fact, just cleaned.

*
u wash everything in ur filter? if yes, that means all the benefit bacteria die liao.u need time to wait them grow back or u hv to add bacteria grow liquid.

QUOTE(the_catacombs @ Jan 14 2009, 12:30 AM)
should i... or should i not invest in a pressurized co2 tank??....

or should i jz make a new yeast cocktail each time it finishes??....

ipoh tank i gonna leave it low tech adi... no co2 and less lighting period... trying it for this coming 2 weeks and see if everything survives....

if room temp is high. our tank iwll also effected smile.gif its normal. but 30 is not good for fish n plants

one question to ask sifu sifu here...

if my aquarium doesnt have filter, i only have air pump..

is tat okay??

as i'm a beginner, i thinking of trying the bottle CO2 treatment...the one that directly plug from the bottle and straightaway to the diffuser...

is tat advisable to try tat?
*
planted tank? air pump is not advice, it reduce ur CO2 in the tank.

newbie question...
how do you clean gravel/soil of heavily planted tank? wont the fish-waste build up at the bottom? so far i've only tried tank with gravel, rocks and wood at the bottom , so i can easily clean. my filter takes out some but not all dirt. lots build up in the gravel which i use gravel siphon to clean. but i want to try planted tank. any advice is appreciated.
*
if heavy planted tank u no hv to worries about the wasted, heavy planted should be a stable planted tank smile.gif benefit bacteria will convert the NH to NO2 NO3, it become fert for plants.

Anyone know where can I get T5 light tube, not those High Output, just normal output type with 6500k-8000k (heard that it's the best for planted tank).
*
i get all my stuff in aqua world in damansara damai

QUOTE(RyoKenzaki @ Jan 29 2009, 08:08 PM)
Any1 knw where can i get java moss?

erm.. bro, someone from penang wanna sell his T5NO 4x14W in MAC. but i think he;s selling along with the cover. i can help you to get his contact if you interested.
*
check the age of the light too.

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Jan 31 2009, 12:27 AM)
I dont get you.Water ripple by air bubble makes the CO2 escape from water?
*
yes, that is why air pump is not advice in planted tank. if not u will wasted ur CO2 only.

QUOTE(usermode @ Jan 31 2009, 04:02 PM)
erm.. i got snails in my tank. zebra snails and zebra thorn snails. bought these 2 types of snails to clear my Green Spot Algae. They are doing the job very well but as IME, dun buy Zebra Snails as i regret to have them in my tank currently. they will lay eggs. their eggs cant hatched in freshwater but the eggs looks ugly and it'll be all over the tank on driftwoods and stones. Zebra Thorn Snails is the best choice IMO for GSA.
*
its call bee thorn snails tongue.gif

btw, do those T5HO/T5 casing is able to plug in those normal household light tube? it should be right, i mean since both is also FL tube.
*
ur 2ft is it standard 2 ft? 2 X 1 X 1? then u hv about 43Liter of water. 2 T5 is enough for ur low tech tank.

T5 need T5 casing smile.gif canot put in T8

ooops.. sorry, today i measure again, my tank length is 2.5ft, i forgot the height & width already, but should be around 90 something liters.
If i were using 2 x T5HO/T5 24w, will i be having major algae bloom problem?
*
no will not hv algea boom. tongue.gif cos if 90L ur light only 24W, its not even enough for ur plants tongue.gif normal is 1Liter 1 W, if its totally low=tech u can lower down abit. but not too much.

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Feb 4 2009, 12:56 PM)
You are very wrong.Air pumps are not used because it will disrupt the circulation of CO2 and NOT making the CO2 in the water lesser.
*
so the result is?

QUOTE(ching4ever @ Feb 4 2009, 01:44 PM)
2x1x1 = 60x30x30 = 54000, 54000/1000 = 54L of water.  tongue.gif
*
minus soil, stone, wood, the top where unfill water... normally its count buy 80% water smile.gif
