air pump create air buble....
air buble create water movement/turbulent
water movement/turbulent cause CO2 easy to release into air

please take notes

he/she mean 2 x 24w = 48watt la....
but i think still won cause algae boom, if everything are balance
*
ops sorry typo tongue.gif still very low light right?90L 48W wor..

QUOTE(ching4ever @ Feb 4 2009, 04:36 PM)
Too much light will cause algae bloom, too less lighting will cause algae bloom as well if balance are wrong like fertilizer, filtration, etc.

errr guess he wouldn't fert gua.. he mention no co2 also..tongue.gif

i dun have any more hardscape to deco it... need to buy... sad.gif

why wood cannot put in even numbers??.. my 2pc DW quite huge adi... i dunno how to add the 3rd piece an yet dun make it so crowded...

i got no more aquasoil to make the background higher... if i were to make it higher, i need to uproot the plants first??..

i dunno how to differentiate background and medium background plants... which is which??... flora seen in internet not available in LFS.... and melaka dun have much choices of plants.... got also mostly torn or dying... doh.gif
*
hahhaha just own opinion lah even number don't look nice tongue.gif no need uproot though just push some of the frontground soil up to the back smile.gif
as for the plants usermode had answer u smile.gif

QUOTE(bartbarb @ Feb 5 2009, 07:23 PM)
hmm.gif  i take your word for it.
you use how many fans on your tank, or did u got use chiller?  tongue.gif

actually what's the different between PLL & PL ? which one give better light performance to planted tank ?
*
same thing tongue.gif

QUOTE(usermode @ Feb 5 2009, 10:06 PM)
1 - looks like you need to buy and if u wanna buy it, buy a smaller one. then u can play around with the arrangement of ur hardscape. try avoid using bogwood if your tank is small.

2 - your tank i assume not matured yet. yes you can uproot the stem plant first. they wont die easily when uprooted and re-plant back. it's still ok if u dun wan to make the backside higher. it;s not a must anyway. it just more for creating the depth. but u can achieve this with plant arrangement also.

3 - background plant normally a plant that grows high. usually is a stem plant. you can get vivipara or acicularis (for not so high tank) too. mid ground plant are those plant that is higher than ur foreground but shorter than background plant. got alot of plant range for this purpose like blyxa japonica, HG, mini java fern (but this one need to attach to something), anubias (also need to attach to something), etc etc.... have a look around on the net and read about their maximum growth. you;ll get the idea.

btw, im a newbie too. with my limited knowledge,my opinion might be against the pro's . sweat.gif
*
from what u type i am sure u r not newbie.. share more with us ya

as for all the plants u mentioned, i did some research on internet adi... but those plants i want doesnt appear in LFS... and plants appear in LFS didnt mentioned in da internet....  rclxub.gif
if push the soil... the 2 layer substrate will get mixed up lor... not nice la... coz bottom gravel is very colorful... sweat.gif

do we need to add the fertilizer ball (like JBL) after we had the liquid form of ferterlizer...
this liquid fertilizer need to add daily or once a week?
liquid form of carbon got people try before? for low tech planted tank is it advisable to use this  compare to CO2?

tq

once i bought lalang type plants from CTY... it turns out to be non aquatic plant... the roots damn thick.... the leaves all rigid... turns yellowish after a month....
are those nana petite??..

Added on February 14, 2009, 3:55 pmone question... is it ok for me to add amano shrimps now after cycling the tank for 2 weeks??... or i need to cycle it further??..

i'm tempted to buy some cheap ghost shrimp to try the water parameters... but the minimum amount i can buy is by hundreds... how to fit so many shrimps inside my nano tank??... aih....

if amano shrimps are rm1 each i dun mind trying... they cost rm3 each here...
*
difficult to tell if a 2week tank is stable. you will need to get a Ph tester to check ur Ph level. also how about ur plants? all heatlhy growing? if all your plants growing healthy then u can put in yamato.

yes nana petite aka mini nana smile.gif

QUOTE(playerseeker @ Feb 14 2009, 06:41 PM)
here's new pic of my 1.5ft tank....

i know i know the internal filter is making the temperature very high....30c....

i'll only have the budget in next 2 weeks (masuk gaji) and will buy a HOB filter...

can anyone introduce a suitable HOB filter for my tank?? 18" x 8" x 8"
my budget is around rm 40 for the filter...

someone please tell me my plant stil can survive with the temp and only with holland sand
[attachmentid=803059]
*
u can use eigher HOB or a small canister filter. get an outflow about 130L/hour(lowest) - 258L/hour(highest).

the red plant will surely melt smile.gif thats the most chllanging plant in stem plant. smile.gif

QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Feb 15 2009, 09:44 AM)
ahaha .. yeah it is .. and looking growing well i see .. if Nezu hv extra.. can sell to me ... nana petite is rm35 per pot at SLS  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

update on my semi cichlid planted tank ..
80% crushed coral removed, tank was half cleaned, fish removed to temp place, backgound attached but still curing, pumps, light and wiring is in place.

[attachmentid=803681] [attachmentid=803682]
p/s: 9ft tank permission was denied .. mom said cost too high .. tank alone is 1.5k, cabinet is 2k, all substrate, powersand, bacterballs, penac, etc is 4k, co2 with solenoid will cost 600, lights is 7k....

to save cost, i planned to diy a plywood tank but that patern is denied as well .. mom said she dont want me to go fibreglass or even if i only used the resin anymore ..

maybe gonna buy a 3ft instead and put it in my room ..
*
tell ur mum a 9ft tank with 7K consider cheap lah hahahhahha tongue.gif then tell her when come out very nice and green. good for everyone eyes in the family. cos we always look at compueter n TV no good

QUOTE(the_catacombs @ Feb 15 2009, 03:28 PM)
wow... looks nice... yeah, 9ft tank cost alot more... every cost needs to be multiplied (tank, lights, substrate, cabinet, etc)...

i thought chinese pantang put aquarium inside room??... haha...
*

and if the plants planted infront of the filter..will the plant grow??
