Out of topic..
Catacombs, where's your lcoation. May want PA system ahhaha!
And I really have to do something about this room soon enough.. It still looks like a toilet.. BUT IMPROVISED!!!
I look at efficiency and practicality rather than Looks.. When people ask, why a toilet.
1: It's a small room therefore a/c doesn't have to run fast.
2: Water change made easy.. VERY VERY EASY! no more back ache

3: Have you ever seen an aquarist fell asleep in there? AHAHHA
Drew
yeap yeap... the most direct advantage i see from it is very very easy water change... jz pump out the water and let it flow into the jamban....
PA system thing, ugpm...

edit:other than some ordinary plants, fishes, sands, decorations, what else more i should get for myself?
do i need something like anti-chlorine?or any supplements?
hows the lightning should be?
what to do to avoid algea?
is it necessary to do the co2 supplier?
thanks
what i learn from venturing into planted tanks is, go step by step and not to hurry....
first step... get a suitable size aquarium... basic thumb rule, the bigger the better... coz water parameter will more stable... disadvantage, cost for everything will be multiplied...
next get a suitable water filter for the size of ur tank... normally tanks below 1.5ft recommended to use HOB filter... 2ft above need canister filter.... external sump also can be used but less popular.... canister filter or external sump is good because it allows beneficial bacteria population...
substrate... there are many to choose from.... me basically prefer ADA amazonia II... due to limited budget, i had holland sand at the bottom as replacement to ADA powersand.... other macro nutrient also needed, but this very much depends on ur budget and what kinda aquascaping level u looking for.... (low tech or high tech)
lights... honestly i forgot the "watts per gallon" rule... lolz... but what i'm having for my 6.6gallon tank is 24w of lighting, which does not seem enough for hard-to-grow plants such as glosso... make sure lighting period daily is around 6-8 hours... more lighting period will cause algae bloom...
co2 supply is recommended if u want ur plants to grow well... u can do without them, but lighting wattage need to reduce abit, fertilization reduced, water change more often, etc... basically u slowing down the plants growth....
fauna/plants... which to choose and where to place them... what i can say is, google for more planted tank photos and get an idea on how u wants ur tank to be... of coz different plants has different requirement, do search around for their information (here is a good source:
http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/myplants/ )
try not to add any fish during ur initial setup... let it run for at least 1 week... slowly start introducing algae eaters (otocinclus, sae, etc.) to combat initial algae bloom... after a week or so only decide what fish to add in.... in aquascaping, the main character is plants and the scape, not the fish... fish are jz additions... without them will still be fine....
