Ha? No, they're usually around RM1xx to RM2xx. If someone is selling higher than that, then it's overpriced.
Fat tails are harder to breed and difficult to breed commercially. They can't really be housed together very well and the outcome could get very messy. Just mating will result in the male suffering as the female will always try to fight him off. It takes time and they can't stay together after the female has conceived or she will probably kill him. Fat tails, however, make very nice pets and have longer lifespan than your average hamster or gerbil. It is also considerably rare. May have some available by the next 2 months or so. Hopefully. So Stay tuned! |

The pet shop in Giant Cheras have told me that the price for gerbils have doubled to RM400-500
Reanne: March 2008 ar? Keep me posted. Should have saved enough for the fat-tail and it's new home. This is what I compiled for fat-tail: - 2 feet tank or zoozone1 (since fat-tail can't jump like their cousins the mongolian gerbils then can get the zoozone1 due to the cover with bars on top about 2cm wide) - Drift wood - Prestige Hamster - Beddings (BC or the Aspen I bought from Foo) - Ceramic bowls x2 (1 for food and 1 for bathing sand) - Bathing Sand - PVC T-pipe or ceramic/wooden house - Water bottle - Sanko wild 21cm silent wheel (optional) Er... Hope I didn't miss anything... Not yet calculate meal worms and fresh veges and fruits. Can they eat dog food like hamsters? This post has been edited by blurjoey: Jan 7 2008, 05:13 PM |

Not Giant itself but the shops underneath it. There are 2 pet shops there. We bought a black banded syrian there. We saw the owner does play with the pets there. This post has been edited by blurjoey: Jan 7 2008, 05:38 PM |

One litter would range from 2 to 5 on average. Selling duprasi please refer to the sales thread.

You can try it but some fat tails will chew on anything, including an expensive wheel, so that one is up to you. Yes, they can take dog food but not the cheap brands. Aspen bedding is the best woodshavings. The next best is the ones made from recycled newspaper. The PVC pipe how much are you getting for? I have some extras if you like. The rest on the list are fine. They love mealworms and crickets in general, but some individuals don't or don't know how to eat. |

Then I should take the wheel out then. Save $$$.
Which brand of dog food do you recommend? I'm not sure as I'm a noob to dogs. I've recently bought 2 packs of aspen from Foo so I think there should be enough. What about BC? Not good? Haven't scout for the PVC pipes yet. I don't think sangels will touch the crickets or mealworms or superworms. Hahaha... |

Dogfood, you can actually buy Orijen, or go Pet Shack lah, ask got any good quality samples or not. Coz you don't need much as they mostly sell at 1kg to 3kg for starter packs. Or you can always get Royal Canin small packs, that's like 500g or 400g for the cat variety, also suitable for them. BC is ok.... but they love lots of hay. My Fei Poh and Fei Chai really make nest using their hay, looks so cozy and really looks like those rounded arm chair look hahaha.... see I can take a pic or not. Corn cobs is ok, with Aspen, is great! BC is good too as I do mix with my shavings and corncob. Ah, give crickets, they love it so much. I like to see both of mine hunt for their crickets. |

We been searching for the sample dog food Joan gave but all the packs are so huge! Bigger than a pack of Prestige Hamster. Didn't dare to buy as we don't have dogs to give the food to...
Currently we have aspen, corncob, timothy hay and recycle paper bedding available to use. Was thinking of getting BC but sangels said we already have too much bedding. |

lol
You can get BC after your current bedding finishes. Corncob and Aspen is already quite good for now. Don't need to buy, you can try getting some sample packs instead, better since they don't eat a lot of dog food. |
