All animals can bite. Gerbils do bite if they feel threaten or scared.... so we must handle them gently and with respect.... the price ah.... I can tell you it is RM***.... 3 digits hahahaha....

Well, I guess it's the price that make people think about buying firstly.... also it is a rare animal here.
Mongolian gerbils are active. Dwarf hamsters sleep alot. These may have some difficulty in say handling coz some hamsters bite and struggle while mongolian gerbils cannot sit still since they are active but tame. Duprasis are.... 2 in 1 hahhaah.... they look like Roborovski hamsters, are good when taking pictures and can be handled longer than a mongolian.... hehehe.... |

QUOTE(alkt @ May 2 2007, 05:25 PM) Of course hahah... just place them in a container with bathing sand that is for hamsters.... Chinchillas sand also can use but avoid chinchilla dust. Just put about 1cm of sand inside then you place your gerbils inside also. Leave them in the container, you will see them sand bath.Normally, for me I get those small plastic tanks, put them inside with the sand. Later the left over sand I will sun it to reuse. |

Separate!!! Duprasis are solitary animals.... they do not need a friend or tankmate....

Why you want to breed? If you want to breed them, please RESEARCH on how to breed. They are totally different from hamsters lah.... Its not like put male and female and poof! Babies appear after a few months.... Duprasis are one of the difficult rodents to breed.
