sigh

i never did ask about the availability of those patches..
all im asking it will manutd be USING it in the forthcoming season? because AFAIK i never did see chelsea having a gold patch last season or is this the first season

.. i only notice the Serie A using the Italian flag for previous-season champions
Chelsea never had a gold lion patch like United used to. But their patch was a blue lion (2 layer as well, but the 2nd layer is in navy blue colour) Anyway here's the revolution of the EPL champions badges:
1. 1992-1993
Introduction to the EPL. Previous season when EPL was first formed, all teams wore the EPL badges with navy blue lion, even Leeds United who were the reigning league champions.
Who worn it: Manchester United

2. 1993-2002
Chris Kay produced and introduced the technology called LEXTRA which produces very nice and high detailed velvet typed patches. First time the EPL champions badges were made using LEXTRA with dual layer (bottom layer is a swen material which has yellow gold colours)
Who worn it: Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal

3. 2003-2004
Barclays started to appear as sponsors of EPL on to the badges. They displayed their Barclaycard name on to it:
Who worn it: Manchester United

4. 2004-2007
A new shape of the badge where previously it was a triangular shaped designed but now it is more like a shield. Dual layer is used by the 2nd layer is not yellow gold like previous blue navy. The lion's crown is in gold colour (where previous it was red) and the outline of the badge is gold.
Who worn it: Arsenal, Chelsea

5. 2007-2008
After it's centenary 10 years since it standardized the EPL naming, numbering and patches, EPL has introduced a new design to the lion. New design now has the badge surrounded by dark gold 2nd layer.
Who will wear it: Manchester United

Hope this clearly clears your matter....
