May I know if your VPN runs on UDP or TCP?

TCP is throttled.

i did said p2p is capped under digi TnC no issue here, totally agree with u.
but u said download tv shows is illegal in malaysia, how so.
CMA 1998 is to instruct ISP to block site and does not specific mention user download.
so, what act illegalize tv shows download from clooud in malaysia?
btw, even torrenting is not block, digi just capped not stop torrent.

You are just using cloud to do the illegal P2P thing.

Example

P2P -> alldebrid (cloud) -> you

It's like I hire a gun man . I didn't kill anyone. The gunman did.

Hold on right here. This thread exists purely to discuss about the Digi Infinite plan.

We are not here to discuss on how we should use the Internet and the legality of a certain resources on the Internet.

Do you have any idea what kind of bandwidth Digi is using currently?

Most of the time I only 10Mhz on 1800Mhz.

I can get 20Mhz on 2600Mhz on Celcom + 10Mhz on 1800Mhz as sub-carrier.

Well, 900Mhz may be great for signal penetration but it is slower than 1800Mhz or 2600Mhz in most cases.

It can't do CA with other band and I believe the bandwidth is only 5Mhz. Digi is broadcasting 10Mhz at 2600Mhz and 1800Mhz.

I hope Digi will launch 20Mhz on their 1800Mhz soon. Mind you Celcom is pushing for 20Mhz 4X4 in the future.

Edit: So, don't hold your breathe for it. Your 1800Mhz is probably faster.

You can add in those bands. Mine has B3+B8, B7+B8 and B8 only. Not sure if it will eventually work or not, last tried I still can't detect B8.
*
Huawei E5186 can only do CA on the following bands.

FDD Down Link (DL) Carrier Aggregation (CA): 1800 MHz + 2600 MHz, 1800 MHz + 800 MHz, 2600 MHz + 800 MHz, 1800 MHz intra-band contiguous, 2600 MHz intra-band contiguous

Anyone in Malacca using this? Thinking of getting this to replace my aging 1mbps streamyx. Been years and every year asking TM for Unifi but until today the max is 1mbps in my housing area sweat.gif

I remember there's one user feedback that the performance is mediocre but it depends on your exact location as well.

It is definitely faster than 1Mbps.

Should be. I do not have the datasheet for E5786

So it won't work but how about B8 only?
*
Yup, it supports B8 on LTE but just no CA.

I tried to do speedtest using the E398 and my phone [LG V10 (NO CA) and Samsung J5] and the result is  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Speedtest at Ookla

E398 = < 3mbps
Samsung J5 = 8~12 mbps
Lg V10 = 30mbps

Location is at Puchong Putra Height..
*
E398 is LTE Cat 3
V10 is Cat 9 with a maximum of 3x20 MHz carrier aggregation. Rated at 450Mbps.

Nowadays, you even have Gigabit LTE capable phones such as the S8. Only useful if there's carrier in Malaysia deploying such infra. laugh.gif

Hi everyone, I have an i150 simcard on the way. Would it be possible for me to use something like the Huawei E3372 as an LTE modem and plug it into my existing Asus N55U?

Checked the Asus site for supported 4g dongles but it seems the list is extremely outdated.
*
People in Germany manage to get it to work with a newer Asus router. I am not sure if it works with an older model.

Digi not support or device?
I saw my phone support B8 CA.

The band configuration is not available on E5186. Not sure if it's possible as well.

Anyway, in my experience, unless you have really decent signal for both bands, you are better off just having single carrier.

Digi is running only 5Mhz on B8, 10/15Mhz on B3. I don't think B8 will be faster if you already have B3 now. It's definitely going to help with penetration tho.

E5186 Firmware Update Guide

My guide my how to flash firmware on Huawei E5186. Haven't got the time to create the image guide as I don't have a Windows machine with me currently. So you have to refer to my text instruction.

1. Configure the IP of your computer to 192.168.8.100 and the router IP to 192.168.8.1 at your LAN properties. Leave the Subnet Mask at 255.255.255.0
2. Connect your computer to LAN 1 of E5186.
3. Run Multicast Upgrade Tool. Set the Network Card to your Ethernet interface. Tick force upgrade and select your desired firmware.
4. Put E5186 into flashing mode. With the device off, hold the Wi-Fi and WPS button at the right side of the device. Turn on the the device while holding the Wi-Fi and WPS button. Release the Wi-Fi button immediately when you see the Wi-Fi LED flashes. Release the WPS 1 second after you release the Wi-Fi button.
5. Click Start on Multicast Upgrade Tool. It should start sending firmware to the E5186. If it doesn’t, start all over again. Getting into the firmware update mode is tricky.
6. Wait for at least 7 passes. Notice that the counter at the package file send time.
7. Stop Multicast Upgrade Tool and reboot your router.
8. Remember to set your IP back to auto and operate your router normally.
9. Your device should be updated, check the firmware version and webUI version.

No warranty provided and you may brick your device. smile.gif

Get the tools you need here https://mega.nz/#F!wvo3AAQL!DFTXF84VZCJ6CzuXbBD4Zg

Here's the firmwares I tested
21.310.01.04.418
lmt branded. Best firmware as it is able to display the most amount of information at the interface. You can see the selected band and the CA status.

21.310.01.01.182
Telia branded. My second favourite firmware as it is able to select the band from the webUI itself without the need of a tool.

Most of the firmwares have a telco branded UI and it doesn't matter. It will not lock your device.

It's hard to brick the E5186. Just use the 2 firmwares I tested and you should be fine. Wait at least 7 passes before stopping the process.

Or don't fix something not broken. laugh.gif

What's your current speed on the MR200 with the stock antenna?

Try conduct a speedtest with the SIM on the router and via the speedtest app on your phone.

I think it's due to a country specific thing. The variant they got have the feature disabled. Can try your luck getting it enabled with firmware maybe.

It is basically the MR200 with Wireless N instead of Wireless AC.

Pretty decent I would say, not as fast as E5186 but it doesn't matter if you don't have 4G+ at your location.
