I just got a unit of TP-Link MR200 LTE router for testing. Initial review, surprisingly decent. It comes with Qualcomm MDM9225 modem which I find a little better than HiLink modems of the same generation.
Not as fast as the Cat6 E5186 but if you don't use Cat6, this is actually a pretty good choice. A lot of features in the firmware compared to Huawei. Fun fact, the antennas are better than the stock E5186 antennas. Using them on my E5186 actually increase the performance. Edit: The IPV6 is fully working if that's your thing. ![]() This post has been edited by blacktubi: Jun 21 2017, 10:38 PM |

QUOTE(Anime in HD @ Jun 21 2017, 10:44 PM) So, Digi have IPV6 enable.. Celcom IPV6 is working as well. If you use an Android phone. Change your APN mode to IPV4 and IPV6.My celcom still don't have IPV6 yet. And that is not important for me anyway.. My main number is on Celcom. QUOTE(lati0s @ Jun 21 2017, 11:19 PM) Been using this router since i activated my simcard. It's is surprisingly decent, there's even a cheaper version without Wireless AC.My only complaint is no OpenWRT support for this particular model, only LEDE (5ghz not functional). I believe the third party firmware situation is mainly due to the Mediatek chipset. Mediatek is known for not releasing the source code for their SoC. |

QUOTE(Neomax3 @ Jun 22 2017, 09:37 AM) Mediatek is the SoC and the modem is powered by Qualcomm.Every LTE modem router will come with a modem module. Qualcomm have the best modem in the market. Try any phone with Qualcomm Cat6/Cat12 chipset, it will outperform E5186. |

Any news on whether Digi will enable 3 carrier aggregation when the 900Mhz band is eventually enabled?
We can have 900 + 1800 + 2600 but better equipment is required in that case. |

QUOTE(prosibu @ Jun 23 2017, 11:40 AM) It just wont.... You are right. I forget that fact that we can't do 3 different band CA. 900mhz only can help 33mbps max improvement The only thing i can think of is enable CA for 900mhz + 1800mhz So those user can have better speed if they stuck at 900mhz The 900Mhz LTE will be a national rollout or a staged one? |

2600Mhz is missing at my current location and it makes 1800Mhz so congested till it's unusable.

QUOTE(pmg @ Jun 24 2017, 06:25 PM) This setting is not available on E5186. It is available on B593 though. There's no easy way to know whether the E5186 is using the external antenna apart from monitoring the RSRP but that could be small variance as well. ![]() ![]() It seems that Digi implemented some traffic shaping on non-mobile connections. Both are tested with the same cell and the same router. When I try to spoof the connection as a mobile device, the performance is much better. In fact, when I put the SIM card in my phone. I can enjoy consistent 50Mbps all the time. ![]() Not sure if it is intended and I am not sure that how many users are affected. Before you PM me asking how to increase your speed, my spoofing mechanism will only work with one connection at a time. Even I can't get it to work all the time. So how to check if you are affected? Put your SIM in your phone and run a speedtest. |

QUOTE(mayang @ Jun 26 2017, 10:52 PM) The speed test using router and phone. Refer to my first spoof test which is conducted via PC and same router. The speed is much better when I try to spoof it as mobile. I don't even turn off my router between the test.Router speed without mimo Phone speed with mimo. That why you got double speed on phone. Just my opinion. But truth to be said, the modem in S7 Edge is faster than E5186. Totally different generation. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 28 2017, 08:01 PM) The hardware should be new. I should phrase it as repacking it into OEM box. QUOTE(ajoi57 @ Jun 28 2017, 08:23 PM) I have the exact same adapter as you. |
