A no0b question....
If the card expiry says 04/23, does it mean it can be used until end of the month (in this case, 30/04/2023), or cannot be used on 01/04/2023 onwards?

from what i know, valid till whole month (Apr 2023)

usually banks would/should reissue a renewal card few months ahead.

yesterday, i just received maybank renewal card 3 months advance (expiry 02/23) biggrin.gif

I see, well that's a relief. Was worried might not get the card in time before the expiry. Thanks!

Applied for StanChart card earlier this month, but got rejected. A bit surprised, as I am well over the minimum requirement - only problem is that I already have two other CC with two different banks. Could this be the reason? Or that my two other CC already have high credit limit?

Even so, I am a good paymaster for both cards (insofar as paying the more than the minimum).

Cardholders can only hold credit cards from a maximum of two issuers only if earning RM36,000 per annum and less. If more, then not an issue.

eCCRIS all ok?
*
eCCRIS okay. Earning way more than RM36k/annum. Just a thought: both my cards have high credit limit. Could this be the reason?

Dont think so. If you feel too high CL is the culprit, you may request to reduce it if not using it anyway. Else appeal SCB asking for a small CL.
*
I have a hunch that my application was declined on technicality. Like they tried to call HR but no one picks up (many of them are still WFH), or when they checked my payslip, it doesn't look legit (which is also a possibility, coz ours look like A4 paper prinout unlike the usual payslip printed on thermal paper). oh well.... Anyways, not sure if there's an avenue to appeal to SC, or will just re-attempt later the year..

Nowadays still use salary slip? Use EA form or EPF statement much better bro.
*
The StanChart requires payslip or EA form, or EPF statement. So I used payslip lor. If they came back asking for more documentations, I'd gladly give it to them.

Requested for temporary credit limit increase, with the reason for travel/hotel bills. Successful. But question is.... Would the increased amount can be charged for this purpose only? Like for specific merchant for fuel (e.g. Petronas, Shell), hotel bills (Sheraton, Hyatt) or it is does not matter? It is Maybank Petronas Visa.

afaik, it doesnt matter actually

the conditional temporary increase of CL is more of goodwill basis in case of genuine need of use (eg emergency, travel, hospitalization, etc)

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 23 2023, 02:37 PM)
I dont think they care

Thanks both! Coz I worry I can use it for specific matters only. It is true I have upcoming trip (and with this slump MYR rate) worry that I would need to use more than CL. But sked I can't use for, say, food, groceries.. Anyway, Temporary only, will pay once i got reimbursed

How would settling Personal Loan impact one's chance of getting CC? Better or no impact? I think la hor, it should be better because the debt to service ratio is lower?

I need further help on this. So let's say on a 10k outstanding balance....

Islamic CC:
Month 1 | 10k purchases = 10k
Month 2 | No purchases and no payments made = 10k outstanding x 1.5% interest = 10,150
Month 3 | 10,150 still?

Is my calculations correct?
