Is it risky to have 9 credit cards on hands?

Actively I am using several cards
- Maybank 2 cards plat (weekend dining cashback)
- cimb cash back plat (online purchase)
- maybank islamic plat petronas ikhwan (8% weekend cashback for petronas)
- maybank islamic gold ikhwan (lazy upgrade to plat, same benefit, friday sat cashback)
- public bank petron gold visa (ringgitplus rm200 lazada promo, cancel soon)
- aeon gold visa (travel insuracen & PPL access)
- hsbc amanah (gobear rm300 lazada promo, cancel soon)
- standard chartered justone plat (smarttag + rm50 from ringgitplus, cancel soon)

taking out 3 cards cancelling soon, I still have 6 cards tho. Ppl always ask me why I so many cards, I blame them dono utilize the benefits that is out there.  shakehead.gif

If you know how to manage, not an issue. I have 15 cards now. Still surviving. smile.gif
I keep most of the cards at home. In fact, people around me appreciate I have so many cards, whatever discount I also have. laugh.gif

All spending cash back alot t&c my friend, read through I no interest sudah. Plus I am not a crazy spender, I only use what I need, hence the number of cards I have.

And I educate people around me about cards benefit coz why not, knowledge is power. Any nice cc recommendation for utilities/bill cashback like uob vox?
*
Since when got T&C? Anything spend on weekends then eligible for cash back. I get full RM 50 every month. Pay my PTPTN, UniFi and all. Plus shopping and etc.

Limited choices, can use AmEx if possible. smile.gif

I thought the cash back is still the last campaign, which is limited to number of people and amount of total $. This is new one? Can't find the link

afternoon,

i'm foreigner and currently work here for next 3 years
i want to apply for credit card
should i go to the branch and apply? or any malls that i can do it?
do know what is the paper requirement?
*
Didn't notice you also posted here. I thought you were only interested in CIMB cards.
Anyway, basically about the same requirements for all banks.

For foreigners will require to apply via branch or card centre. Those booths in malls will not process for foreigners' application.
Need 3 months payslip, work permit copy and employment confirmation letter.

Any credit card that can give 0% interest cash advance ? Repayment like in 12 months?
*
It's better you swipe and use 0% balance transfer.
Cash advance is not recommended at all, no 0% and interest is calculated on daily basis.

Hi, I have a few questions regarding credit card application that I would like to clear up.

1. If I have only been working for 2 months, can I still apply for a credit card or do I need to wait for the 3rd month to provide 3 months payslip? Anyone has any experience with this before?

2. If my application gets rejected the first time from a certain bank, would I be able to reapply again with the same bank or do I need to start applying for CC from other banks?

Tqvm.
*
1) For new to workforce, better at least 3 to 6 months. If possible 6 months.

2) Yes, suggest try to apply 6 months later.

I do not have any commitments at the minute (loans/CC/PTPTN), how would this affect my CC application?

Thanks again.

No credit history also means a risk to the banks, so try applying from the bank which your salary is credited to.

Just wondering if you know if our chances of getting the card will be higher if we pledge a fixed deposit to apply for the card.

*UPDATED, sorry for the bad english in the previous one (This reply)
*
Pledge FD you can of course get it because banks will grant you CL based on your FD amount. Once you lift it up, card will be terminated too.

Hi guys, first time post at here.

Currently I'm working in contract based job.
Is it high possibility my credit card application will be rejected if I work in contract based job?

My friend is currently working in gov sector but contract based, higher salary than me, he applied a credit card early 2017, his credit card application is rejected by Citibank and CIMB if I'm not mistaken.

Is it hard for people like us to get the credit card due to our job status?
*
My card with CIMB was approved when I was a contract staff in 2010, same goes to my M2Cards which was invited by Maybank in 2011. I know it certainly affects loan applications, I don't think so for credit cards. So long you can prove you have a fixed income and EPF statement, I think should be OK.

Would like to ask general opinions here about the cashback. Currently, when my supplementary spends and receives cashback, it goes into my principal cards as credits instead of supplementary. Is this the normal practice? I am currently holding RHB cards. sweat.gif
Thank you.
*
Yes, SCB as well. You can call bank to transfer to your supplementary card, not sure if RHB can do it for future cash back as well. SCB cannot, principal has to call every month.

Thanks for replying so fast @fruitie. I am battling with them to get it done automatically but it seems their systems are 'fixed'. However, they are able to transfer from principal to supplementary if the principal calls....

Do you know any bank that credits cashback to supplementary? If there is a choice, I will switch. RHB cashback is quite low anyways....
*
I don't have many supp cards, I know CIMB Cash Rebate is.

Guys anyone get 5% cb on pertol pump on am carZ platinum cc?
*
In order to maximize cash back, you have to leave some outstanding by not paying full. Well, you will be charged with interest anyway. Not many are interested with this card.

Why not use MyEg? The thing is almost all online transactions cards do not give cash back for MyEg. I used my general spending card - SCB Cash Back Gold to pay.

guys, what is the maximum CC that one can apply? 6?
*
No maximum. I have 15 now I think.
But if earn RM 36k and below per annum, can only have cards from two issuing banks (not two cards). If more than RM 36k, then no limit so long these banks approve.
