Sorry. Perhaps my motivation was not clear. I'm looking for a credit card with best cashback benefits.

Little overview of myself:

1. Annual Income: ~RM80,000

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably or can be waived.

3. Card required for: Day-to-day expenses, such as Maxis, petrol, TNB, pharmacy, groceries, retail, online shopping

4. Existing credit cards (if any): CIMB Cashback Credit Card, Maybank2Card Platinum

5. Interested in CC from:
HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum Credit Card-i or Standard Chartered JustOne Platinum MasterCard - but can't decide between the two. Average credit card bill is between RM1,000-2,000 per month.

Hope the info suffice.

hi. i want to buy a bike. price is RM15K. which one is the best way to buy installment? personal loan or AEON ? gross salary 2.8k. i can allocate rm500 a month.
*
QUOTE(apamise @ Jul 17 2018, 01:22 PM)
Personally, I would go with personal loan. Aeon credit can be very expensive.

Go to the shop and ask how much your monthly installment would be if you buy using aeon credit.

Then ask how much would it cost if you buy from them using cash, including insurance etc. Go to ringgitplus personal loan section, key in that amount and same tenure as aeon credit and compare the installment. I'm willing to bet most personal loan would be cheaper.
*
I agree. Personal loan is a more viable solution.

if PL is cheaper, why people are still using AEON ?
*
Aeon is good for Balance Transfer of 6 months zero interest promotion. The fact that you mentioned you can commit to repay RM500 per month for a total sum of RM15k makes it not feasible.

i hope renewal that falls in 2019 is effect.

else, those ngamngam renewed after Sep 1, would hit RM25/card SST.
*
KUALA LUMPUR (July 19): Service tax on credit or charge cards, which was scrapped when the goods and services tax was implemented back in 2015, has made its way back in the proposed new model for the sales and services tax (SST), which is deemed SST 2.0, that is due to be implemented on Sept 1.

According to the Royal Malaysian Customs website, under the Frequently Asked Questions on Service Tax, the following was stated as Question 35:

Q: Will I be charged RM25 on existing credit or charge card on Sept 1, 2018?

A: The existing effective period of the card will not be subject to service tax of RM25 until the next annual renewal.

In other words, the service tax of RM25 on each credit or charge card that an individual owns will be charged upon renewal of the card.

It should be noted that the amount is less compared to the old service tax model. Under the old service tax model, a service tax of RM50 a year on each principal credit card and charge card, and a service tax of RM25 a year on each supplementary card was implemented.

Under SST 2.0 the RM25 charge will be applied to each credit or charge card, regardless if it is a principal or supplementary card.

Yes! this fee is for the provision of credit cards. Nothing to do with bank's annual fee.

Lower credit utilisation score for CC would be the % of amount charged over the credit limit. The lower the score, the better. Is this correct?
*
is the score here referring to the CTOS score?
If otherwise, I don't get the question.

For Balance Transfer, say from A to B, does it mean that my available credit for CC A will increase by the same amount decreased in CC B?
*
Yes.

It's the same concept as making one lump sum payment in A and spend one lump sum in B.

Do you continue with EPF contribution or have a record of up-to-date EPF contribution?
If otherwise, what supporting documents do you have?

- Latest payslip (not applicable is unemployed)

QUOTE(Pebbie @ Aug 17 2018, 03:57 PM)
Need some suggestion / insight from you guys.

Current income = 40K
Spending on cc / month = RM1000

Breakdown of credit card and usage

OCBC: insurance of RM450
MBB2C: odd purchases, average of RM100 / month
AEON Big gold: daily usage of RM300
Citibank: no use

With SST coming, need to trim down the credit cards. First to go is definitely Citibank. Now i'm in dilemma of cutting MBB2C or OCBC.

While MBB2C rebate is higher, due to my spending nature, very difficult to use it unless i have big purchases and it happen to accept AMEX during weekend, quite hard to justify keeping it when the SST is RM50.

On the other hand, OCBC's benefit is crap, but the 360 account is giving me saving rate of 1% higher than FD, and i have 10K cash inside that account.

Any suggestion for what card to keep / trash / apply / consolidate?

I want to apply my own credit card.... All this while never had epf or do income tax b4..........

If I start deposit in epf personally myself (meaning I deposit in as individual) and build record..... after few months can apply?

If yes, what is the minimum to put in?
*
Unlikely. As EPF statement has contribution both from Employee and Employer. I supposed you can only contribute as either party.
You may consider pledging Fixed Deposit as collateral for the credit card you are interested, though.

Presto e-Wallet

Reload can use Jompay, probably good for cards that award cb for JOMpay, eg UOB YOLO or SCB cards

Pending verification approval now. Only then can test out all the fees and charges.

Edit: Verification took 15 minutes.

So far what I could see is,

1. Top up max amount = RM1,500
2. Withrawal fee = RM2.00 including GST (didn't say how much can withdraw) and takes up to 10 working days depending on your bank.

Lucky Money - I reckon it is somewhat similar to Wechat's 'Red Packet', where you get to allocate a sum and decide how much to give to individuals, or randomly given to a group a people (i.e. your team members, or kids).

Hi. I have question to ask. May I know if I have a credit card that I don’t utilise (zero balance), does it affect my credit scoring as I’m not making any payment due to zero balance? Does Not making any payment consider a miss payment? Can someone highlight to me. Thanks.
*
I rather think the 'allocated credit limit' to the card will be considered as part of the 'eligible credit' for you as a whole, this will affect your new card/loan application.

So it means? Bad for credit scoring and hard to get loan in the future?
*
Depends on your total eligible credit. Unless you have many credit commitments, i.e. many cards, which took up all the eligible credits, then only application to get loan or new cards will be difficult. This can be easily worked around by reducing credit limit of rarely used credit cards, so that the eligible credit increases. The other way would be - higher income. smile.gif
