What's in store for 2021?

Despite 2020’s soaring stock market performance, gold was considered to be one of the best performing major assets of 2020, according to the World Gold Council. This was largely due to a combination of high risk caused by the pandemic, low interest rates and positive price momentums.

But what does 2021 look like for the economy? For his first thought piece of the year, Robin shares why 2020 was a confusing year for him and what his predictions are for 2021.

--

“As one exasperated investor said to me, “What do you do? I think the crash is coming. I have sat out of the market for most of 2020 and missed the run up in stocks”. Like many people, I think…”

Hello guys,

Im thinking of investing into HelloGold for my first gold investment, may i know why the spread between buy & sell is so high ? If i buy at 247, the sell is at 234.. that means i immediately lost a value of it?

The spread is high as you're paying for its conveniences - trade at anywhere, anytime from your phone and no min amount/gramme.

If you want lowest spread, it'll be UOB.

Old data:
QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Dec 21 2020, 12:22 PM)
UOB:

Bank BUY SELL Spread
UOB 242.00 237.90 4.10
MBB 245.23 235.79 9.44
CIMB (Clicks) 241.50 235.90 5.60
*Old data as per last week
*
But CIMB got promotion now:

Hey All, newbie here.

Someone just told me that he has Gold in Africa to be sold. Then showed me 2 videos.

My questions would be;
1) I'm sure there are some controls on Gold. Not so easy to move Gold, right?
2) Gold scams has been around.... probably longer than my existence. How to determine if this is genuine?
3) Please share me your thoughts, if anyone talks to me about Gold, I'd probably tell that person to buy BITCOIN instead...

LoL! TQ and your feedback is much appreciated smile.gif

That Gold owner/seller from Africa of you has nothing to do with HelloGold.
HelloGold is online trading and investment platform for gold.

1. Its scam. don't believe.
2. Its scam. 99% will be scam. If really want buy gold, go to bank or gold shop, they do sell gold bar.
3. For Hellogold...haha... its not scam, but its hard to really earn here. too many feesssssssss. Bitcoin? Too risky.

If the aim is to make money, gold investment is not one that can make money overnight or after 5 to 10 years.

There's a lot of Gold platform available, but be careful of the business model:
1) Hidden cost / charges which is a great turnoff if you are a small-time investor. Off course which business would highlight their cons. They would be more happy to highlight their pros than cons. For cons, usually a consumer will find out the other way round.
2) Authentication of product. Not many are willing to buyback the gold sold to you. Maybe Pawn shop will take ? That's also if your Gold is genuine
3) Support services given. Is it really fast and in a level acceptable or will it fade as times goes by.

Always read carefully from the website and also read the feedback of current and past consumers and do the judgement.

Vaccines and gold, how will it unfold?

Malaysia, the vaccines have landed! Hope may be restored in this mission of Co-Vid control, but what lies ahead for us could well be a bumpy ride ahead.

In his latest blog, Robin foresees a continuation of more MCOs and sheds light on why the pandemic isn’t the only challenge the world is facing. 😳
