Ummmmm. Jack White plays an Electric guitar.... more specifically, a Gretsch. I don't see how you can get that kind of sound with ANY amp with your acoustic guitar.
Sorry for the disappointment man.

Ermmm....I think you got your facts wrong...Jack only plays his Gretsch in Raconteurs and that's for like light jamming. His main guitars are 1964 JB Hutto Montgomery Airlines, 1970s-era Crestwood Astral II, 1950s-era Kay Hollowbody. Ok, so those guitars are impossible to obtain in Malaysia, and it's almost impossible in the US. So, I thought I could have the 1950s-era Kay Hollowbody substitituted with my ovation copy The problem is the amp... ANyone here can help...Or else I have no one to turn to Don't tell me I have to go to guitar centre in US to get what I want

A hollow body is NOT an electro-acoustic.
A hollow body, like the famous Gibson ES-335 or even the JB Hutto Montgomery Airline, are made AS an electric guitar, but with a large noise chamber for the sound to resonate.
An electric acoustic however, is a giant hollowed box for the sound to resonate in.
Which means, that an acoustic will have too much gain and feedback when hooked up to a dirty amp, because the sound is resonating throught the box. A Hollow-body guitar however ALSO produces alot of gain compared to a regular electric guitar (which has no sound chambers, and is basically a giant hunk of wood), but considerably less compared to an acoustic, because it's made up from chambers, not just a box.
Sure, there are musicians who hook up their acoustic guitars with a crazy amount of gain, but it's all in the guitar and how they control their amps as well.
But if you want to get Jack's sound on your acoustic? I seriously doubt you can do that. Too much gain and feedback... and it sounds totally different from a semi-hollow guitar. But really, someone please prove me wrong....

on a more serious note, i dont think theres anyway to grow fingers.
but ive heard like basketball players and some die hard ppl who wanted long fingers going for surgery to remove some of the skin between fingers, thus making the fingers 'longer' (which actually just makes it able to stretch further).

yes. . . they remove the fin in between your fingers. . . another way is to NOT crack your fingers. . . and try and stretch them as much as possible

Depends on your guitar make and how the guitar is setuped.
Like, my ZW LP Custom can tolerate up to .60 (or .70 if I REALLY want to push it), but you try putting a .60 on a cheap guitar and not have it setuped AND normal tuning? Instant snap.

Hey guys, just bought my first guitar today. A 2nd hand Prince HM-34 with a Prince 25 Watt Scorpion Amp. Can't play the guitar yet but experimenting with online tutorials. Officially starting classes this saturday. A bit late for someone turning 19 this year to only start learning the guitar. Haha Sila beri tunjuk ajar This post has been edited by sayming: Apr 16 2007, 01:36 AM
