any of you guys have experience with zoom 505 II? how does it fare? i'm thinking of adding it to my chain for versatility, not for main distortion though. just to play around. how does it fare working amongst other compact pedals and wah, being a digital effect processor? particularly interested in:
- how's the tuner? really chromatic? - how's the bypass mode? will it effect overall sound? - where should i put it? before or after compact pedal? (of course before the wah, right?) edit: btw, +ve and -ve reviews are welcomed. i've read most of the available reviews on the net, most a re +ve, but there are some -ve too. just like to know what people here think. i think most will give u negative comments. however, using the zoom for things like flanger, chorus etc is just decent. not too bad and can get the job done.

To me, Zoom sounds too digital for my liking.
And besides, they discontinued the 505II already..... replaced with the 2.0 and 2.1u. I would recommend zoom 2.1u as a very first pedal, as has alot of options to play with AND USB recording for a reasonable price. If USB recording isn't important, go for the Korg Toneworks 1500g...... much better audio quality. |

Yeah, and since you'll probably be able to get it at bargain-basement price, there's really no harm in trying it out. |

i'm not gonna use it as a main effect, just for fine tuning a bit, mostly for clean. interested in the ZNR. definitely not gonna use the distortion and wah. well, maybe on headphones

the thing i like on the zoom 505 II is the noise gate (which rocks), delay and chorus...the rest is on the so-so level...and yes, it's very digital sounding...but if you can live with it, then shouldn't be a problem for you...

well zoom 505II has decent modulations..and the best thing i like bout it is the ZNR which really helps wit me squier SSS strats.basically...distortion is kinda xxxx...the wah is the worst effect ever built in it.
that brazillian is great..the cream..his style..sounds something like satriani's one. This post has been edited by blackangel: Mar 30 2007, 03:55 PM |

Gustavo is really good. . . i've seen alot of his videos. . . for one he has every single God Forsaken Guitar on earth. . . JS model, JEM models, PG models, Gibson, Fender, watever. . . lolz. . . must be some multi-millionaire. . . so jealous. . .
when he plays he really plays up to a point where you think it's the real guy playing. . . the nuances, lelgato, phrasing, everything, so real. . . respect him totally. . . Check out his For The Love Of God - Vai. . . good stuff. . . |
