no, you can't hot swap the hard disk since it is encrypted. alternatively, you can transfer your files from PS4 to PS4 Pro via Ethernet (but at a slower pace).

thanks for reply, any alternative way? Because last time i bought a 2 TB hdd for my old ps4, now i want to swap the 2tb hdd to my ps4 pro. is that mean i will need to find another hdd and transfer the data to that hdd first then do the same thing again from that hdd to 2tb hdd again after plug it to ps4 pro?

that is a very repetitive and long process.
i would suggest you to make a back up of your game saves 1st, format the 2TB drive, plug it into the PS4 Pro and install the update. finally, reinstall all the games and updates on your PS4 Pro. this is to save you bucks from getting a new drive just for the sake of transferring.

Just my 2 cents.
PS4 at the moment is enjoying the throne for console gaming. They have 4k capability, great game lists, amazing gpu/cpu architecture. I don't see the need to push for PS5 when all the best technology is readily available. Of course there's plenty of new concept or existing ones that can be developed further, such as VR, AR, but its kinda risky to ditch the PS4 for something less enticing. 8k? perhaps, but how many has 8K tv? Its my hunch that Playstation might look into their handheld first instead of the console.

Totally agree with you bro. It'll be a big mistake if they expect to be like iPhone with new version almost every year.

Having a great engine(graphics) but without good fuel(games) to run the car(gamers experience), it's only for decoration and bragging rights.

Haha, that's another way to put it..

Unless if the total capacity used in your current PS4 does not exceed 500GB, you're still safe, at least.

PS5 in 2018 is possible, and will success only if they have backward compatibility to the current library of PS4 games
else they gonna shoot themselves in the foot again

IMO, if they just emphasized on the beef-up hardware for 4K60fps, and better VR experiences? not many of the current PS4 owners gonna jump the gun without porting over the existing library.

If it makes you feel better, I went from a W600A 1080p Sony TV from 2013 to an LG E6 OLED. So look at where the budget spending has went.  sweat.gif

yes, definitely a good bundle with that price.
Horizon is indeed a good game for new ps4 owners and fetch a decent price in the aftermarket.
