Most of the astro card sharing provider will have their infrastructure within or nearby to Malaysia, simply because of the satellite's coverage. You still need the satellite feed before you can do any "distribution" to IP based solution.

Possible, but it is not worth it. VPN add more latency.

Precisely... not like we have cheap access to Gbps speeds.. I sincerely hope this is not misunderstood to mean that we should be denied access to cheap Gbps internet speeds... shakehead.gif

I think if it's a Malaysia to Malaysia link, it should be quite fast as it is in a "local" network.
That is assuming the Malaysia VPN is truly anonymous.

A VPN server is only as secure as the person(s) who set it up.. Once the encryption is compromised?? Sayonara.. nod.gif

If the VPN server is in Malaysia, it will be bound to local law, make it easier to trace the originating source wink.gif

I think you need to understand that VPN only provide encryption, it is still possible to track down all the connections if the authority have access to the VPN server (if it is local).

I'm pretty sure the provider can take a portion of his RM900000 to ensure that the VPN server is indeed anonymous.
How about those foreign VPN providers with Malaysia server presence.?

As neuromancerx posted.. They are subject to local laws and the authorities (hopefully with a warrant) can at any time demand they (foreign companies) to hand over.. say logs.. etc. This ain't Switzerland.. tongue.gif

The one i use is very stable and smooth....most of the time, > 95% of the channels are working smoothly, which probably explain why pricce is higher....tried those RM2xx service before....lag, stutter and worst, channel not working.

Is latency issue for streaming video? I don't think so. AFAIK, these IPTV services sure slower than live or ahem...Assteruk broadcast. It's a given.

The only input needed is to change channels. I think most people can live with a little latency there. Streaming, as long video reaches, who cares if it suppose to reach me 500ms ago or later.
