I agree. Trust me, if you're a heavy user, e.g. torrenting, your cpu load usually shoots up to 100%. I wonder do tplink did a proper testing before releasing the firmware. I believe the hardware used in c1200 is good. But how come such crappy firmware passed the testing?

Another thing I found out about the TM tplink c1200, DNS server is locked to TM DNS server.( Even if you have changed to Google DNS or others.)

Yes bro. Atleast, that cylinder shaped router better although it has a serious vulnerability issues. This is the downside of using tplink. Atleast, asus way way better - older models still receiving firmware upgrades.

Hi guys, newbie here. REcently i realized that if there is a need to restart my tplink c1200 (given by tm), it seems to need some time to get stable (sometimes restart again to get stable wifi connection). Also, the boot up period is a little bit long but i think less than 5 mins and will freezed once in a while (rare). Went to tm, they told me to exchange with tplink c5 (2 anthennas). Need some advice from sifus if i should make the exchange? Million thanksss.

My mom, my sister in law and i terminated out old UNIFI account and subscribed the new RM139 (30MB) promotion package. we received the TP-Link C1200 routers. That router is worst that i piece of junk. The line get disconnected every few minutes, rebooting time is long. I just cant connect to my office VPN with it, it keeps dropping the connection. i now end up with the 10 years old Dlink 615 router. not fast but at least everything is stable. I logged a report to TM, they said that they only have this router for now. so i end up getting back the same router.
After reading this forum, i found out that this is a common issue and most people that got this router, they went to get their own replacement outside. I think this is unacceptable, TM should provide us at least a working router. i have made a report to MCMC via 1800182222, i hope more people will make complaints to MCMC for TM to either replace this piece of junk or provide us rebate to get our own router.

Hi Bros,just to clarify one more thing before i made my last decision to change my c1200 to c5v2,the unstable wifi to me is high ping (reached 3000+) sometimes while i download or watch youtube (normally will recover by itself after some time or need to keep refresh until its stable), during the period when its fine,then download speed will reach 3-3.6 MBytes/s at most.Im using Unifi 30Mbps. Is this the unstable wifi bros meant?

C1200 , i unable to update to no-ip or dyndns, so i unable to setup for my house CCTV any idea why?

You are misunderstood with SilentVampire bro's explanation. He says that, its common to receive complaint on archer c1200. However, there is another way if you don't wish to change your router (c1200). You can flash the router to EU (Australian) firmware. It is slightly better and make the c1200 stable for time being. Reboot issue still happens, and there are few reasons behind it. One, cpu load (try to disable features such as usb sharing, print server, reduce the transmission power (wifi) and put on a cooling fan so that the router don't overheat. When i did such thing on my c1200, my router stable until now. I was tested asus n56u, archer c7v2, legendary dir 615, i must say, the c1200 after flash aus firmware, it does improve and if there was a proper firmware developed, c1200 will be a beast for low end dual band routers.

My c1200 requires restart every 12-24 hrs. Requesting for replacement from tm huhu

just ordered Mikrotik RB750Gr3 Gigabit router. Can't wait to test the router. Most of the reviewers who had used and still using the router, giving out colorful reviews for this router. 

Just gotten the Archer C1200 from TM, how do you check the uptime? I can't find such info anywhere 
And it's not a very good router as pointed out, hope TP-link release new firmware soon to improve it

You can turn off your router led by looking at your web admin interface of your router. As marked in the picture below. If you using Malaysian firmware (blue), you can click at the led icon to turn the led's off.

thanks for the tip. the wifi still sucks big time.. auto disconnects the devices. take out more money now  i need wifi. any router you would recommend? looking at asus i guess since i used one before and it was stable.
