Yup using latest firmware. Already elevate using hard foam but still hang. Connection suddenly stop & after a minute it resume but only happen when multiple download. Lol weird

The router is crap. No other explanations. Most people who are able to change have done so.

Hey guys, I'm currently using TP-Link Archer C2 and subscribed to Unifi 100Mbps but the maximum speed that I'm getting from speed test is only around 4xMbpx

I'm not sure whether if the router is the bottleneck capping the speed to below 50Mbps as the description from the router says it can support up to 300Mbps or something related to my fiber optic cable that will need the Unifi technicians.
*
The description on the router don’t mean anything, if you are using WiFi on 2.4GHz, you won’t be getting full speed as there is many congestion and interference. You have to use 5GHz AC. If it is wired connection that is slow, there are many factors.

Thanks for the suggestion, just tried to use 5GHz and managed to achieve 102Mbps using speedtest.net, I've previously read that 2.5Ghz have a wider coverage range so I've been using that all these while, never knew there will difference in the throughput.
*
No worries bro. Just see here for more info if you want to educate yourself better: https://www.howtogeek.com/222249/whats-the-...should-you-use/

Hi experts, I just installed unifi at my parent's place and got the c1200. My own house has the older silver dlink one which I can create  a new wireless ssid and tag it to the hyptv vlan. I don't seems to be able to do it with the c1200. Can someone confirm this ?
*
Yes, it can’t do wireless SSID tag and it is only wired.

Shit, have to spend more on powerline adapters.
Thanks bro !
*
No worries, just make sure your house is not on three phase wiring. Otherwise, it might not work.

Does anyone here ever tried exchanging the 850L with C1200?
*
You will just be disappointed. I would recommend getting your own router. Best time is now, as router price have dropped significantly, 0% GST.

Just ordered tp-link c1200, anything i should take note when setting up the router to my maxis modem(huawei)?
*
Ouch. You should have ordered the TP Link C7 v4 instead. Nothing really, you halve to bridge the Maxis router if you still want to use VoIP.

C7 out of my budget:(, what if i’m not planning to use VOIP?
*
No worries bro, the C1200 is not v1 true? If it is not v1, it should be ok. If you are not planning to use VoIP, then you don’t have to bridge the Maxis router.

There's a new firmware for C1200 V1 - anyone have upgraded to the 16/5/18 firmware?  hmm.gif
Modifications :

1. Support DualLan

2. Support Tr069

Notes :

1. For Archer C1200(EU) - TIME Wireless Router
2. It is NOT suggested to upgrade firmware which is not for your region. If this site is not for your region, please click here to choose your own region and download the most suitable firmware version.

Currently on UniFi Pro 100Mbps plan but the router randomly reboots and speeds will drop whenever the CPU gets to 100% for a long time  :/
*
I would recommend switching router then if that’s the case. Try the Asus art-AC1300UHP, and your problems will be solved thumbup.gif There’s an offer for it now if I am not mistaken. See here: https://www.lazada.com.my/products/asus-rt-...4b054hb5Xs&mp=1

Much better than the C1200 that’s for sure. See here: https://www.asus.com/my/Networking/RT-AC1300UHP/

It is a good time to buy now as it is cheaper by RM100 and a good bargain.

The functionality (according to the manual) looks like a huge leap over the TP-Link...  hmm.gif

Haha just sharing that it is a great offer. Definitely a huge leap but most important thing us that it is stable and the coverage is much better.

hi, is the C5 router by unifi able to configure the google dns? because c1200 was blocked by unifi.
*
QUOTE(hackwire @ Jun 7 2018, 02:59 AM)
im wondering if unifi could exchange the router ? just got the router 2 weeks ago and the speed is very slow than before. even my 50mb package is faster than new package 100mb. they gave me the aicher 1200. been wondering if i could demand for faster speed and whether their new router will also blocked the google dns? if it's blocked i rather buy new router instead of request for change . tks.
*
They will just give you another C1200 or the DIR-850L. Get a new router if you own. I recommend the TP Link Archer C7 v4, or top up and get the Asus RT-AC1300UHP. But, I don’t think they block Google DNS on the C1200 though. Have you try changing your DNS in the router?

He probably changed DNS at wrong location.

The first is at Advanced, Network, Internet, Advanced  -----> this one is for router only (eg, check firmware upgrade dns resolution, NTP server)

The second is at Advanced, Network, DHCP Server  -----> this is the correct one. DHCP will forward the dns you specified here to your devices.

Last one is for IPv6, Advanced.
*
Could be possible. I haven’t heard of any instances where you can’t change the DNS on the C1200.

Im also currently checking on the firmware.

my current firmware is this

unfortunately when i visited the tplink page, i think my firmware seem like a more latest one if judging by the firmware no.
i may be wrong if judge on the number sequence as date formation . can you guys confirm if im having the latest update in my router. im afraid i have to do it manual again if i updated the wrong firmware.

https://www.tp-link.com/us/download/Archer-...1.html#Firmware

Yours is not the latest, but don’t worry about that. The link your provided is for the US version by the way, so I wouldn’t use that. The right link is here: https://www.tp-link.com/my/download/Archer-...1.html#Firmware

The IPv6 settings would be located at Advanced, IPv6. See here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1525.html

If I were you, I would turn IPv6 OFF, then reboot your router, and hopefully, it will use your IPv4 settings, which will enable you to use Google DNS. I suspect it is using the IPv6 TM DNS settings now, and that’s why you can’t use your IPv4 DNS.

Hi Silent Vampire,

thanks for solving the problem. My google dns configuration finally working. You were right about the IPV6 , I turned it off and reboot and it works wonderfully after that.

Thanks notworthy.gif

No worries. You don’t have to use IPv6 for now, as it haven’t been optimized fully for use in Malaysia.

QUOTE(missysleepy @ Jun 11 2018, 09:19 PM)
hey guys,

i need help.
I been offered the upgrade by Unifi to 100mbps . After their tech came to change my asus router to tplink router, i noticed my streaming movies buffer for a long time and since i don't have problem loading any of the movie catalogue in a swift before, now it takes ages to download the list.

I wrote to them and their feedback was, i will be billed RM 50 for the servicing. I found this ridiculous. I expect they knew the problem about this model Aicher 1200 which were known to have issue with cpu as claimed in this network topic. Why are they still giving out something that caused more problem than my old package.

And since my contract is over, they said if i request for a new replacement, i have to sign a new contract again. I wonder if this is consider blackmailing me to sign up new contract. Don't you think im suppose to get new router instead without me getting into more contract signing?

What should i do from here, guys. im kinda pissed off with them because it is taking ages for them to make decision.
In my earlier conversation with their customer service, they said that the latest upgrade firmware may not be compatible or may have issues. how true is this? I thought TPlink co should have known or work with TM . if it's problem, than shouldn't they fix the bug and give a more latest upgrade.

I just want to know , how many of you have gone through this and pursue the matter with them? Do they replace a different router model to you after complaining without having to sign a fresh contract ?
thanks.
*
Why do they even need to change the Asus router? Your Asus router will be more than better than the Archer C1200. No point getting pissed off with them. Just buy your own router and forget about asking them to change it for you. You will either get another Archer C1200, or the D Link DIR-850L, which is worse. They won’t replace the new router for you, without some form of payment unless you re sign contract with them so don’t bother.

You can either use back your old router or get another Asus router, which is the Asus RT-AC1300UHP.
