There's a form to fill in. You can request via email. I did mine more than two years ago in KLCC branch.
Maybank strictly follows to salary requirement.

If your CL already exceeded the platinum minimum, they should grant you a Platinum card.

I believe if you're holding a gold card with 20k CL, you can request for a MBB VS as well without your salary informations.

No form for me to fill in for upgrade card,
but I did fill in Credit Limit Increase form with latest income documents,
and come together with increase of CL and upgraded to Plat.

Ya, me too. I just bring my BE form and submitted to the branch with photostat IC last 2 weeks.
But my CL still maintain because I request them do not increase it.

For my case, I submitted my form via nearest branch and viola i got upgraded in less than one week.
Would have been faster if submitted via the card centre rather than the branches.

Talk about MBB VS, why is this card so popular?!
Literally turned off with that annual fees RM550 though free for the first year. Waived only after RM30k of spending.

If upgrade card, usually they give 15k CL.

I have VS too but plan to use first year for free and cancel it after that. I like the card because groceries and petrol cash back is on daily basis. No need to wait till Fridays or weekends to perform. Anyway, any further discussion in VS thread. Old existing users like me need 50k to waive by the way.

60k per annum = roughly 5k a month.

I'm having the Premier so my limit is way above their minimum limit already. Just never bother to upgrade my gold card and maybank never sent me a new platinum card as replacement lol.

You'll be slapped with 1.5% interest for the month, yes.

I've just had my Petronas Ikhwan MC approve last week and got it on Saturday.

Now regretting didn't ask in the recommendation thread before hand.

I emailed Maybank via (amextelesales@maybank.com.my) to ask if it is possible to split my credit limit to apply for M2C, unfortunately, the answer is, I'll have to wait for 3 months in order to submit a new application.

Now thinking what will happen if I try to apply for M2C online via Maybank2u.

Will it get rejected immediately or approved?
