I've just had my Petronas Ikhwan MC approve last week and got it on Saturday.
Now regretting didn't ask in the recommendation thread before hand.
I emailed Maybank via (amextelesales@maybank.com.my) to ask if it is possible to split my credit limit to apply for M2C, unfortunately, the answer is, I'll have to wait for 3 months in order to submit a new application.
Now thinking what will happen if I try to apply for M2C online via Maybank2u.
My opinion if purely wants to max CB the great combo would be M2C (Amex & Visa), Ikhwan and throw in PB VS and Quantum. You will have all grounds covered
No harm trying and 50:50 chance. If cannot then, split limit via email: mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my
Just wanted to share:
After my Ikhwan application via email (in May), I tried to apply for M2C via online, it got rejected after few minutes. Btw, for the Ikhwan application, I didn't submit any form via email. AFAIK, we need to print a few pages of the form, sign it, scan it and email it back but my application bypassed all this. Actually, the CS did tell me to print the form, fill it up and email it back to him but I told him I'm just too lazy to do that but anyway the application went through and got approved. Maybe they continued my application via email from the last time where I applied for Ikhwan but got rejected (in Jan) but that application also I didn't submit any application form.
Then, I emailed MBB to apply for M2C but request to split limit from my Ikhwan. This time around, they said can't proceed without the conventional form. Again I said I'm too lazy to print it and send it back, then the CS no choice have to. But since I was reluctant to fill everything, he said to only print the pages where need to sign and send it back to him. I did that and yesterday got sms saying my application is approved.
Earlier, checked in M2U, and I was surprised to see that they didn't actually split limit as I requested, but the M2C application went through as a "new application" hence my Ikhwan credit limit remains and for the M2C, they gave a slightly lower credit limit than my Ikhwan.
I'm just having a good laugh now. Last year, they rejected my application by all means. Now, when I really wanted to split limit from my Ikhwan (as my Ikhwan already have a high limit and I won't utilize all anyway), they gave a new limit for M2C.
What's even better is that, two new application got approved in a short period of time. Not to mention, they are much more generous than CIMB by giving much higher CL. Maybe I'll call to reduce the CL, not sure yet.
EDIT: Sorry for the long story. Just wanted to share how the application went through. Might be helpful for others to have a rough idea on how Maybank cc application works differently for everyone.

Done that 3 years ago, bought Yamaha Ego LC scooter. Charge RM6k + RM200 for some so called service charge.
RM6000 / 18 months. Zero interest.
Will do that again soon Getting another bike.
So your monthly payment was around RM345 for 18 months, yes?
Well, RM200 extra is much better (even if it shouldn't be charged in the 1st place) than paying RM2000 on interest alone. Conventional loan can stretch longer but if one have the capacity to pay a higher monthly repayment, EPP is the way to go.
I didn't get full RM 50 which I have expected... Lack of 4 cents, could be due to decimal thingy. I have tried calculating (in Excel) but still cannot tally.
I tried adding everything, then only *5%, still got RM 50.
I split line by line (as above) then only *5%, still got RM 50.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but Maybank's cash back entitlement period for each month is from the 1st to the last day of the month regardless of statement date, yes?
For example, cash back transaction period for July is from 1st July till 31st July and cash back will be credited on 1st Aug?
1) You were right that the cash back entitlement is from 1st until the last day of the month regardless statement date. 2) However, for transactions transacted at the last few days of the month and only posted in following month will be calculated as following month's cash back. For e.g. last Sunday was 30th July and you did a transaction but only posted on 1st August. You are still entitled for cash back but will be calculated as part of August cash back and it will not be credited on 1st August.
Perfect. So basically, for example July (and every other month), all retail transactions which were transacted AND posted from the 1st till the last day of the month, will utilize July's quota and will be credited on the 1st of Aug, yes?
Is this applicable for all MBB cc?
EDIT: To simplify it, basically any transaction that is POSTED in the month will be credited on the 1st of the following month.

i have done it once with Petron where you can preset the amount before you actually pump. and the good thing is if the amount that you preset is more than full tank the pump will actually automatically stop. for example you preset RM50, but your tank can only pump up to RM45.69, the pump will actually stop pumping at RM45.59. after some time i just got tired of preset-ting and just pump full tank all the time to save the hassle lol.
If you need to pump full tank, there's no need to preset any amount. You'll only need to insert your card and once approved, fill up until the nozzle stops automatically.
Preset amount is only useful when you need to fill up certain amount. As for me, I will always fill up my car full tank hence there's no need to set any amount. However, I find this useful when I need to fill up my friend's car for example (sometimes we car pool and go somewhere) hence I will set the amount, for example RM20 or RM30 and the nozzle will stop once amount reached.

by doing so, wont you be paying more for petrol? as ive read the additional petrol will flow back to the station's tank
QUOTE(imnotabot @ Aug 7 2017, 04:04 PM)
Are you sure? Any legitimate source on that (not some viral FB post)? I'm the kind of person that will always pump full tank until it automatically stops, because I want to calculate my car's fuel efficiency.
QUOTE(Vio @ Aug 7 2017, 04:43 PM)
i think so, but i might not be right, as the diaphragm of the gas nozzle will have to be filled up and that is when the pump knows when to stop.
There's no such thing. I've came across many occasions before where when I fill up other people's car using preset amount but the tank is full before amount is reached hence I will return the nozzle as usual and the pump will only charge the actual amount, which is, in this case it's lower than preset amount.

Pump until full will get the pre-authorization hold. After how many days usually they release the hold (about rm200 ?)
Previously, it used to be 3 to 7 working days (different Petrol brand, different duration) for the actual amount to be charged and the pre-authorization returned but now, it's almost instantaneous. By instantaneous, I mean, for example CIMB, after filling up for example RM50, you would be able to see in CIMBClicks that credit available has reduced by RM50 eventho you've received sms saying that RM200 was charged to your card. For Maybank, I'll say it's around 1 day to be reflected in M2U. Sorry for being slightly off topic to include CIMB but this is just for comparison sake.
Also, regardless whether you set any preset amount or not before filling up, you will still receive sms saying that RM200 was charged to your card. You'll only receive this sms if you have requested sms notification limit below than RM200.
Forgot to mention that, different Petrol brand (or was it different cc bank) that charges different pre-authorization amount. Some charges RM150 while some charges RM200.
