Back to the GPS issue, when I was in Bangkok, it seems to be fine but when back to here, it is not as stable, I got a friend also having the same experience. This leads me to deduce that for some reason, GPS reception here is pretty much not stable or poor.

QUOTE(Moonknightz @ Dec 18 2017, 06:23 PM) To those having waze GPS issue where it is always searching for network. Are you using celcom? Is the APN showing celcom 3g? I find out that Google Maps not only need to be updated but also have to clear the cache if GPS having issue or clear the GPS cache using 3rd party app. Still observing this ...If you are then the fix is by changing the APN to follow celcom 4g settings. Just Google celcom 4g APN and follow. I fixed mine. Found out it is celcom issue when I changed from maxis to celcom and the GPS issue and other network issue started. Good luck |

QUOTE(johnngiew @ Jan 5 2018, 03:03 PM) I did call u mobile and ask them regarding the issue. Yes, other U Mobile user on other phones has no issue even tested on Redmi 3 Pro on miui 8.x. For some reason, the miui 9 on Redmi Note 4 has this erratic behaviour. Only miui team knows why perhaps...the solution given is 1. set the phone to 3g 2. choose the network mode not automatic, and select 'u mobile 3g' they say 4g is not stable. which could be u mobile's problem... but the thing is. why other phones using u mobile do not face this issue? P.S. Tested on Huawei Honor 6X but not all others , as far as I know, Asus some models also having similar GPS erratic behaviour This post has been edited by Silfrijin: Jan 5 2018, 09:16 PM |

Go into Location Settings , make sure the Google Location History is enabled and inside this setting, your device is enabled.
You can try, may or may not help. This post has been edited by Silfrijin: Jan 11 2018, 05:10 PM |

QUOTE(QWERTYUIOP12 @ Jan 17 2018, 12:22 PM) If you worry much about the bloatware, grab the 64gb/4gb RAM. Not just only GPS issue , MIUI 9 is draining the battery life faster , not look like 4100 mah anymore. hihi ...Are you really want to store so much thing inside your internal storage ? Are you the one that want to run many apps on one go ? Ask yourself those question. Significant con I think very slow update given until you might think the devs have wash their hands on your device and focus on newer devices like Redmi 5/5 plus/5A/Note 5A instead. If you current ROm version has bugs, you need to face it with firm heart until new system updateb is released or need to revert to old version and stuck there. And also the famous GPS issue hihi. |

QUOTE(shadow1143 @ Jan 25 2018, 12:11 AM) When I initially update to miui 9 , the battery life is the same with miui 8. However after few months, I realised that the battery life has shorten. Miui 8 can last 9 hours sot quite easily, now I am getting average 7 hours sot only with less than 10 % left. Last time the battery life used to be 10 % / hour. Anyone same with me? Similar here, battery % dropping faster, let's see if MIUI 9.2 will fix this. Will battery calibration app able to fix this ? |
