me also got gps problem with miui 9.
the last miui 8 (8.2.5.0 if not mistaken) really fast lock gps.

latest miui 9 the gps kinda slow to lock. 

Why this model GPS sucks !!! Keep so long to search GPS location.
Any solution for it ???

For me it's not just last update but ever since MIUI 9.

GPS sometime is depend on your telcos data.

someone also  mentioned about umobile with GPS issue

My phone doesn't read my sim but able to read other sim card. But my 2nd phone can read my sim card. zzz what happened to my phone?

replaced my faulty umobile sim card today and I had this problem same wit urs. My Pokemon Go also couldn't lock my position correctly    previously my old sim card doesn't have this problem mygawddd

I did call u mobile and ask them regarding the issue.

the solution given is
1. set the phone to 3g
2. choose the network mode not automatic, and select 'u mobile 3g'

they say 4g is not stable.
which could be u mobile's problem... but the thing is. why other phones using u mobile do not face this issue?

hmm.. this is actually very random.. i heard of a friend using redmi note 3 had GPS issue that she never could even use the GPS at all.

besides, i'm having issue when using 8.5.8.0 .. and now updated to miui9 .. the same problem persist..

Which ASUS model ? My old but reliable Zf5 GPS sucks, but A-GPS fast to lock , so no problemo. Running on ASUS stock Kitkat 4.4.2.

For the 1st time ever I face the GPS problem u all mentioned , but it is not due to any of the causes stated. Mine is due to the metal bumper case I used, which blocked the GPS signal caused me to have no GPS signal at all

Usually is weak respond bandwidth with internet.

If you worry much about the bloatware, grab the 64gb/4gb RAM.
Are you really want to store so much thing inside your internal storage ? Are you the one that want to run many apps on one go ? Ask yourself those question.

Significant con I think very slow update given until you might think the devs have wash their hands on your device and focus on newer devices like Redmi 5/5 plus/5A/Note 5A instead. If you current ROm version has bugs, you need to face it with firm heart until new system updateb is released or need to revert to old version and stuck there.

And also the famous GPS issue  hihi.

the battery life is still good for me. not much difference from miui8/8.5.

When I initially update to miui 9 , the battery life is the same with miui 8. However after few months, I realised that the battery life has shorten. Miui 8 can last 9 hours sot quite easily, now I am getting average 7 hours sot only with less than 10 % left. Last time the battery life used to be 10 % / hour. Anyone same with me?
