I waited for Redmi Note 4 64gb rom + 4gb ram variant for months until I realised Redmi Note 4 32gb rom + 3gb ram has GPS lock in problem. I bought two sets for my family! I installed multi GPS lock in apps and still the same. I decided to give up on Xiaomi due to the GPS mentioned problem because I need GPS for my job.

Well of course I'm not lying. I bought not one but two Redmi Note 4 SD MY variants. Fortunately those two that I bought for them are not using GPS for work.

My spouse Redmi Note 4 can't even GPS lock in when I'm outside on the road while pointing the device straight to the god/s above the sky. Well blame the god/s for hiding the satellites from me?


Tried every damn setting in the phone and as you just suggested.


Finally some sense here. Inside cannot maybe still consider ok but outside also cannot and it brought me to Holland quite a few times.......

Line reception also failed in car park what more for GPS.......

Laugh as you may but as much as you don't believe the myth that some Xiaomi device can seriously lock in the house (not car park becoz that wasn't me), my dotter Redmi Note 3 Pro can actually lock in GPS in the house 1 time out of 2 times. This may sound something new to you, do check this miracle with your loved ones that owned a Redmi Note 3 Pro Int variant.

a)Well quite true I don't but that would be wisely discussed in another thread instead of an Android thread.

b)I prefer to use WAZE and not Google map because Google map failed to gain my trust after it brought me to a fkin oil palm estate for no particular reason. I use various apps to check GPS lock in. My dotter's WAZE using Redmi Note 3 Pro which I used to set in my house are set to go each time I lock in although one will failed out of two tries. Of course most of the time I set my WAZE outside from the house. Wifey Redmi Note 4 has issue on the road and it's been like that since day one.

Wow good for you bro. What were your previous GPS problem other than lock in and which model you are using?

My wifey Redmi Note 4 has problem with lockin' in and also stability issue on the road.

I don't think I'm the only one having this problem. It's a worldwide issue and glad to know it's not the device problem but rather software..........

Yes I agreed so that's why I was asking if any smartphone besides the Xiaomi brand enable to lock in GPS in the house. Does that sound weird to you until you need to insult someone by calling em stupid? If you are interested to suggest your opinion/solution I'm fine but if you wanna insult or troll, take a hike bro.


It's becoz of witnessing that Redmi Note 3 Pro can enable to lock in GPS in the house, I was wondering any other brand can does the same? My wifey and bro in law Redmi Note 4 both can't lock in inside and outside from the house. Well outside from the house, stability issue and sometimes can't lock in at all.

So what are you suggesting? We are not so lucky like yours...........can lock in outside without a single damn issue.

Update or not, it's the same case for both of my Redmi Note 4. I think this got to do with software issue rather than hardware.....I think....

By the way nowadays if I'm on the road, I will ask my wife to share tethering to my mini Apple ipad and I must say that the mini ipad has no issue at all on WAZE.

I tried Samsung J2 (old model) before and no problem with WAZE although sometimes it hanged which I think the phone has overheating issue.

Sharing the Redmi Note 4 hotspot to the mini Apple Ipad that has WAZE. Basically what I'm saying was that the mini Ipad works well on WAZE than the Redmi Note 4 phone itself.

As for the five postings in a row. I apologized for being an ignorant to you (probably too excited). Once again sorry moderator.

I'm forced to choose other brand due to this GPS issue or else Redmi Note 4 is one of the best budget phone in town other than average camera quality.

Should I put my hope on future Redmi Note 5 now?
