I think all decent car headlamp cost 4figure.. over 1k - 2k at least.
The problem with LED headlamps is that they are usually sold in whole set (casing+LED+electronics). Unless one is good at disassembly of half cut parts and some soldering work. Not to forget, you need to have a ODB reader to clear the fault codes if it is not of OEM spec.

For conventional lamp, the 3 main components can usually be bought separately. HIDs aside, normal halogen bulb only have the socket, no electronics.

That's true. If 1 LED segment is burned out you have to replace the whole headlight which costs thousands. LED headlights is not for cheap cars as their target owners will find it very painful to replace a LED headlight.

Many people fall into the marketing ploy thinking of a B segment car with C segment features. If it is so, then the owner cannot run away from the potential C segment maintenance cost/level despite owning a B segment car.

So think further before purchasing. Like the Mazda3 using HID, i felt a little disappointed that didn't have the full LED headlamp set, but then come to think again, the maintenance of the HID will be a little more flexible as the bulb and the ballast are interchangeable parts, unlike LED which is whole set.

Won't LED last a whole lot longer than conventional bulbs? It is also less sensitive to frequent on/off switch damage.

City vtec 1.5L is way way more responsive and powerful than the 20 years old campro Persona 1.6L

The nvh and refinement of the city is also miles ahead of Persona.

Interior space and spaciousness also has stark difference between the 2.

Go test drive both cars and feel it and you'll know what I mean
