QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 26 2017, 10:36 PM) MR3420 is a pretty old router and I doubt if TP Link still actively adding supported modems into their list. cross my finger on that.. hopefully can work.. currently using mr3420 connect to usb port to my phone in tethering mode..If it works that's the best, I still have it lying somewhere. |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Apr 26 2017, 10:47 PM) What about custom firmware like openwrt for MR3420? Since they always add latest updates for usb modems I see it listed there in https://ofmodemsandmen.com/downloadsp.html QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 26 2017, 10:50 PM) I totally forgot about OpenWRT as I used to flash that firmware but flashed back to stock firmware when I made it as AP for my UniFi router. That was more than two years ago. yup am using latest openwrt.. connect to my phone with tethering enabled and I have internet.. I do not need to configure anything.. just like plug n playThat's a good point but I'm too lazy to test out. in router settings it detects my phone brand that is why I have high hopes it will able to work with E5786 |
