For RM30 cash back under the campaign, you may still get it. There may still quota left.. rclxms.gif

Cannot, as this was for Week 6 (part of my 8x swipes on 10 April). I already completed my Week 7 8x swipes on 17 April. The hotel only charged my card on 20 April, so this falls within Week 7.

Nevermind, I always have to remind myself that CB is extra money.

Was there TAC issued during booking? If there is TAC Issued and confirmed, should be considered online transaction?
*
No TAC.

But the app said "advance purchase.. Pay now.. Non refundable etc". But when I called up Hilton CS, they said that for many hotels, the charges are manually done by the hotel. The arrangements differ according to hotel and no way for customer to know. To be safe, I wouldnt use my PBB VS for this anymore.

Many overseas online sites don't require TAC for the transaction to be online. For example, agoda, PayPal and Amazon. Also things carried out via many Apps. No TAC, but still online.

Reminds me of my previous encounter with St Giles Wembley Penang. Booked via their website and strangely no tac required. In reality, they do not have a payment system attached to their booking system. Instead they do the manual through the cc terminal. Its not a payment either. More like advance deposit which can only be reverted by them. They will charge your card properly when you check in. They also use the same method to ask for your deposit which will be reversed after you check out.
*
For my Hilton case, the amount charged is full "real" payment which cannot be refunded. However, it was done manually. I can ready see RM9k+ on my unbilled transactions even though I'm only checking in in July.

I also booked Shangri-la around the same time through their website. For that one, they will only charge me the full amount on the check in date or if "no show".

Since we can never know, there's a huge risk using an online card. Will use Amex or HLB Fortune in the future. At least can get 1%CB or 5x treat points.

Use credit card to capitalise on the promotions, cash back, etc ... the positive stuff. Don't be tempted and create excuses to start a debt.
It's a NO to minimum payment and instalments.
*
I wholeheartedly agree with this, and think it is VERY VERY VERY important for people to realise that the cost of financing (e.g. interest, penalties etc) is far greater than any promotional cashback. Worse still, getting stuck in a debt trap can really get out of hand.

A personal tip from me in managing all my credit cards:

I have a spreadsheet of total outstanding amount from ALL my cards, as well as a spreadsheet of total 1 month fixed deposits. I make sure that my total fixed deposits is at least RM5k more than total credit card outstanding. I don't count what's in my current / savings accounts or salary etc. I just make sure Fixed Deposits > Credit Card Debt, so I will always be safe. Alternatively, if you don't want to keep managing 1 month fixed deposits, you can create a separate savings account to park money to match your credit card debt. A good account for this is M2USavers as it is very easy to manage, and has a slightly higher interest rate than normal savings account.

Patiently waiting for tomorrow so I can start doing my online shopping. Going to buy a Nespresso machine on Amazon for only EUR79 (approx RM375) by buying EUR10.50x8 gift vouchers hehe.

Savings on the machine (almost half of the Malaysian price!), 6% online cash back, and 12% promo cashback! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif. But I'll only be swiping after lunch time JUST IN CASE I encounter any funny timezone issues.

Everyone else ready for Monday swiping spree?

I'm planning to use my quantum cards tmr for the first time.

Do you think mix and match count? For example 4 transactions with quantum vs and another 4 with mc for the total of 8.

And also have we received the details on the type of merchant for all the categories?
*
Yes mix and match count, across all principals and all supps. You will only get max RM50 per week though, regardless of how many cards you have.

Hi
I haven't bought anything from Amazon, but isn't Seattle timezone 15 hours later? KL 15:00 Monday = Seattle 00:00 Monday. Kl 12noon Monday, Seattle still Sunday night 9pm.
But d price is in Euro, so should based on Euro timezone? But if London/Euro time then ok.
*
Yeh I'm getting it from Amazon FR (France). Think the European sites are hosted in Luxembourg / Netherlands. Will probably do my swipes at night to be on the safe side.

hi all...for the cashback promotion...so far Tuesday or Wednesday transaction counted? just trying to check if I should swipe all today...hehe...
*
Some people reported swipes on Friday also counted. But those were early days.

I took a risk this week by swiping my last 3 swipes only today (Tuesday 2 May), because my VS 833 quota (1 principal and 6 supps!) has been totally exhausted and my statement date is 2nd May... So by swiping today I definitely get the 6% standard cashback and may also get the RM50 promo cashback.

Everyweek I record the date and time of my last qualifying transaction so that I can track. Today is the first time I've swiped after Monday.

Just an update. Applied for supplementary for my brother in January under the Morgan Kettle promotion and just received a call saying it will be delivered in next 2 days.

This is my 6th free gift from PBB for supplementary. Every time they run an acquisition promotion, I apply for one new supp. Now no more new supps to apply for lol...

so let say my credit limit as below :
PB Gold = CL RM 4k
PB Quantum = CL RM6k

So that mean I have RM10k credit limit ?
how do I set max CL for each card?
Call customer service ?
*
No, you have only 6k limit in total. But gold can only spend 4k. So if you spend 6k on quantum, you can't spend anything on gold. If you spend 4k on gold, you can only spend 2k on quantum.

Random note - On Tuesday I experimented with PBB VS and Quantum to buy gift vouchers from Amazon.FR. Transactions were back-to-back for EUR11. Results below:

- PBB VS: RM52.85 (4.80)
- PBB Quantum Mastercard: RM52.66 (4.79)

Mastercard slightly better rate BUT VS gives cashback of 6% instead of 5%. So it sort of evens out.

Just a quick note:

I made 3 online transactions on 1 May on Shopee for RM105, but these were counted as normal "retail" and not "online", as I did not receive the 6% cashback, but got VIP points.

Has anyone else encountered the same issue with Shopee??

This is the first time it has happened to me and ALL my other Shopee transactions have always been marked as online.

I have written to PBB CS and will update when I receive a response.

Bill payments for Digi and TNB - I've do this nearly every week and its always gotten cashback. In fact, in the same statement I have 6 other Shopee bill payments (in April). All of those qualified.

You mentioned these are marked as retail transactions, on the statement or unbilled transactions? I have a number of shoppee transactions (most recent being 3rd May) but there are not marked either, but entitled for both 6% cash back and also swipe more campaign. Wonder what caused the discrepancy
*
My statement date is 5th May, these 3 transactions were transacted on 1 May (posted 4 May). They were not "marked", but I can calculate based on the "Retail Purchases" section on my VIP points which are EXACTLY 105.78, which equals to (RM50.49 x 2) + RM4.80, which are my Shopee transactions. It is this RM105.78 which I have not got cashback for. I use spreadsheets, so its quite easy to identify.

The rest of my transactions are Lazada, 11Street, Google Play, and they DO NOT equal to RM105.78.

Anyway, as I've said, I've never had a problem with Shopee and have previously qualified for the 6%. I've e-mailed PBB CS and asked for clarification. They are usually quite fast to reply, so I'll update here when I receive a response.

errm these 3 transactions were transacted on 1 May or 1 Apr?

Sorry, 1 May. The other Shopee transactions were throughout April.

So to recap. My statement period runs from 6 April to 5 May.

3 Shopee transactions on 1 May posted 4 May were given VIP points instead of 6% cashback. All other Shopee transactions in April (on this card plus my other Principals and Supps) qualified.

any noticeable difference with the merchant name/description on the May statement?

have called CS to compare these 3 vs Apr's shopee transactions?
*
No, all exactly the same description. I didn't bother calling this time as I just wrote an email as I could set out all the details nicely. For disputes I prefer email so that they can investigate properly and give me a reply in writing.

Because I was helping a friend load RM5 prepaid and the lowest denomination is RM10 on digi website. Plus, Shopee only charge RM4.80 and has always been eligible for cashback previously.

My latest shopee transactions were done on 17-Apr and entitled to 6% online CB.  My statement date is 4-May, you know from your latest statement?
Ya, want to know too.
*
I just called CS and received the following response%

It was not eligible for cashback, because for some (unknown) reason, Shopee charged it manually even though OTP was generated. All my April transactions were charged as online. She checked each transaction and said couldn't see what's the difference, as all identical description.

She said maybe one off, and we won't be able to know as it is the merchant who processes the transaction. She said normally OTP transactions have much much higher chance of being online, but even that is not guaranteed.

Anyway, if any of you have May Shopee transactions, could you please call CS just to check if it is online or manual? I will do some Shopee transactions tomorrow and will also update, but just wanted to check if this is a one off problem or if there's been a change in processing.

Going to ask some of my supps whether they did any Shopee transactions in May. Will report back here.
